While the young master ran off to pester her parents, the curious cat examined what the little master was working on.

With a playful leap onto the desk, and a few avoidance of objects, the cat discovered something odd. Twigs, leafs, and pieces of baby blanket were combined together to form a circle. It was box-like and seemed important.

This cat didn't try to fit inside it, nor tried to sit in this circle. Because inside was an odd oval, which prevented her from preforming 'if I fit, I sit' act. Plus, this cat prefered not to sleep on strange stones. She prefered flat surfaces, maybe a silky pillow once in a while.

Her round eyes noticed above this stone, was one of those lights the humans flicked on and off. Like all the other lights, this one didn't have a smell, talk, and had a powerful illumination powers.

Though what made this curious is why the  lamp remained on. Usually these were turned off when leaving a room. And yet here is where it shines, above the oval. What was even more strange was, it produced a strange warmth. She didn't know if she liked these new findings, but the warmth did feel close to being stroked by a human's hand.

"Master? What is this?" She meowed to the empty room.

Seeing no one, she began investigating further. Her paw lightly struck the surface of the stone. And it responded! The stone's surface waved at the touch.

"It's moving! I don't think I like this!" Her back began to arch at the strange twitching stone.

Her eyes scanned the room again looking for her master. She was just a kitten, what if this stone is evil or something. Or worse, it breaks and she gets the blame!

But, her curious nature lured her back to the pebbraraqle. Again she watched, but instead of watching grass grow, she watched the smooth surface trail its cracks.

"Something's wrong with your stupid rock!" She turns her head to the door hoping her sass would attract her master.

It's breaking nature forced her on her stomach, her claws dug in the surface to keep her from looking away. she owed it to herself to watch the chaos spread. This is after all her fault, she touched the fragile thing.

Soon enough though, a tiny beak was poking out of one of the openings. With just her bean toes, She touched the small triangle.  that's when it began to scream at her with the worst sound she has ever heard. The fear smoothed over into annoyance.

"...ma? ...mama? Momomomom?" it began to call to the cat."

"Mama? I'm not your mother. I have silky beautiful fur, while you...You've seen better days"

It continues to cry out, and the cat, well. She has heard enough and crawled up ontop of the screamer to mute it's cry with her body. It's shelling and body made a sickening crunch.

This noise was what brought the young master - whom was about seven - into the room. She began hollering at the small fluff ball.

"No! Your such a bad kitty, Whiskers!"

And soon she gently tossed the small cat to the side. The girl examined her baby bird, holding it in both hands. It's body was flattened and covered in shelling. Tears traced the young child's face.

"Your such a bad cat! You hurt him! Killed him maybe! - " She ran her thumb over it's small body "I hope your happy. You, baby murder!"

The kitten didn't know how to respond, so she curled up under the bed. And watched from afar.

After a few sniffles, a bright blue light engolfed the room. And the sound of a baby bird who was silent, came back with chirps louder than before.

"Mama!" The glistening in it's eyes filled the girl with much delight. "Oh, mama! Mama mama!"

A smile crosses her tired face. Her rosey face dripped with exhaustion. But this didn't stop her from kissing the top of the baby's head.

"I shall name you, Feathers -" she began to ruffle it's wet skin, "Your absolutely adorable. And I love you."

The cat puffed up it's chest then hissed when no love was said to her.

"Don't think I've forgotten you. Your a bad kitty! And you will be punished for hurting your brother."

The baby was placed in it's nest abruptly when the master's mother came rushing in the room.

"Nicky! Nicky dear, are you okay? I saw this light and - " She soon stopped talking when her child began to laugh. A smile replaced the worry.

"It was magic mommy! Isn't that amazing? I can finally do what you can do!! Maybe, I can finally go to work with you?"

The mother sighed happily, and picked up the child. The witch and her daughter shared a moment of love. But, little did they know, this was the beginning of little Nicky's journey...
