Their plan was simple; Marinette would be the one to enter the cottage to encounter the witch and if she tried to escape, her kitty would be in the trees if a witch flew on her broomstick to escape.

She loaded her weapon to get prepared, "You know what to do, kitty. If she escapes with her broom...." Marinette said before her kitty finished it.

"...I hide on top of the trees to pounce her. Yup, I know. I've done this a million times and I can't wait for a million to one" Adrien said before climbing up the tree like a cat with his claws.

"Good" Marinette makes her move.

The cottage was too easy when there were no traps and the spells are only for children to fall for traps, except it doesn't work on adults.

Cautiously, Marinette looked around and then she saw the witch growling and slowly turning.

She was definitely a plant witch covered in leaves and her skin looking green, especially with her cottage interior filled with carnivorous plants.

Marinette aimed her weapon at her as the witch hissed. The witch then threw daggers at her but Marinette deflected the daggers and fired arrows at her. The witch dodged it with her magic wand and took the opportunity to escape by blasting through the wall to fly with her broomstick out of there.

"MEOW!!!" Adrien leaped to catch her.

Rolling to the ground he got back on his feet to take out his pistols to shoot her but she deflected them with dark magic.

"Oh no you don't!" He chased her.

Same speed for both of them than an average human, the witch keeps casting dark magic to grow trees and plants to slow him down but Adrien is very strong enough to slice them off with his claws. Running through the forest until the witch used agility to not trip or fall down the hill but Adrien did as he tumbled down before landing on his feet.

"Like cats always do land on their feet!" He continues chasing her, no matter how many times he shoots her she still deflects them again.

Marinette prepared to fire at her from a distance, "No use running, witch!" She fired her arrow at the witch, causing her to crash.

"Meow" Adrien smirked that the witch got hit but was still standing, grabbing the wand so she wouldn't summon more carnivore plants, "No more evil doings for you." He snaps it in two.

"Fucking beast!" The witch yelled.

"I'm not just a fucking beast, I'm a man too," Adrien said.

"And my best kitty I tamed" Marinette joined his side.

"Ooh, she looks very pissed with the arrow wounding her, milady" Adrien can see the witch is defenseless without her wand.

"Well let's put her out of her misery" Marinette aims her gun.

"Wait. I can hear a child somewhere. I don't see where but I believe her pets have him. Where is the child? Unless you choose now before you feel the same type of choices of misery" Adrien clawed the tree to make her talk, "What's it gonna be?!" He warned.

The witch screamed in grief before letting the giant carnivorous plant underneath the soil where it revealed a child caged in with thorns. Marinette cut it loose to save the child. The witch started screaming in so much rage to be defeated by the famous witch hunters. They were far too strong and their record was 400 kills in the past 15 years.

"Will you shut the hell up?!" Adrien clawed out her throat.

Luckily Marinette blocked the kill from the child's view, "Next time, not in front of a child" Marinette said before walking the child away from the corpse.

"Alright," Adrien buried the body.

A while later at the Mayor's office, the youngest half-sister was nice and mature, she always cared about everyone and the town while her older one did not and she was the meanest woman of all since her biological father chose his stepdaughter to be the rightful mayor.

"It's so great that you two found the child. He was missing for two weeks" The kind mayor said to reward them with money.

"You're welcome, Miss. Mayor" Adrien said.

"Please, call me Zoe. But there have been reports of witch activity increasing. One is much different than the ones you killed. We don't know who she is but rumors say that she can blend in like a human" Zoe explained by showing the parchment of a witch.

"We'll be more cautious," Marinette said.

"My feline senses never lie to me. No witch can ever hide their scent from me" Adrien said before staring at the Bourgeois portrait, "Even my senses can sense mean people like your half-sister who always hates how we bring witches to be executed in fire or hang"

"Chloe is always the jealous type but I just hope she can come to her senses that being mayor is never about control, it's about responsibility. She's still my sister, despite that we have the same mother but different fathers" Zoe said.

"Well, I hope she does. Even though we did tell her she can't be a witch hunter because it's dangerous and very risky" Marinette said before drinking water.

"We've hunted for 15 years," Adrien said.

"Exactly. I sure hope you'll save more children again. You never failed at all for years" Zoe said.

"Yes but this new witch will be a challenge," Marinette said.

"If she can blend in like a person, we gotta know her strengths and weakness. We've seen a few rare witches that can turn normal to hide their elemental features" Adrien said before looking at the files of missing children taken by witches.

He reads through their names and ages, "How long has this been going on?" He asked.

"During this week," Zoe said.

"So I guess we need investigation for this but witches have been getting smarter by the second," Marinette said.

"Yeah, we do" Adrien brushing his canines due to all the biting and eating fish, "But it's too dangerous to go in the woods at night. I can see in the dark but you can't. It's just not safe, milady"

"Don't worry, Kitty" Marinette assured.

"But we should be worried about the children. Who knows what these bitches are doing to them. Especially with feeding them candy to get them fat" Adrien said.

"Like the one did to us," Marinette said.

"You were both lucky that you have a high metabolism to prevent you from gaining weight," Zoe said.

"Yeah, and the witch accidentally granted me protection against dark magic," Adrien said.

"Mine is a mystery. Anyways, is there a place for us to sleep? My kitty never likes sleeping in alleys" Marinette asked.

"Ow!" Adrien felt his tail yanked by Chloe, "Don't yank the tail!" He hissed at her.

"You look utterly ridiculous as a catman" Chloe replied rudely.

"Chloe, we already discussed this. They are our only hope in saving children" Zoe said calmly without causing a scene.

"I would've been a better witch hunter than them! They take forever to find brats for days!" Chloe scoffed.

"You don't know what it takes! Let's go, Adrien" Marinette told her off before leaving.

He yowled at Chloe, startling her, "Pull my tail again and your face will be bloody with claw marks. I don't like anyone pulling my tail!" Adrien hissed.

"AH!" Chloe backed off scared.

"Don't ever do that again" Adrien said before leaving.

The two young adults headed home to their lair which was next to Notre Dame when it came to a sanctuary for them, even for God to forgive their witch killing.

"Well Kitty, that was quite a busy day," Marinette said.

"Yeah. Tomorrow morning, we'll find the other missing children. The only question is why?" Adrien said before getting in the barrel of water naked to clean himself, no fear in him for water.

"I wonder that too, Adrien" Marinette turns and sees his bare chest.

"I didn't know I could talk to cats. They always warn me if there's a witch anywhere" Adrien cleaned his tail.

"Well it's the cat part of you," Marinette said.

"Meow" He meowed.

"Silly Kitty" Marinette giggled.

"Whoever this new type of witch is, we need to be prepared. We've seen rare ones that can turn and look normal to blend in" Adrien said before shaking the water off.

"I have a bad feeling about it" Marinette hands him a towel.

"They always try to think I'm very useful as a cat but I'm no one's pet cat," Adrien said before drying off.

"Everyone always thinks you're the handsome cat man in the world. Yet that first witch we faced as kids, I saved you before you nearly lost your humanity" Marinette said

"Yeah, you're the first one to see me as a person, no matter how I looked like," Adrien said.

"Heh, I always do. Yet sometimes the cat ears and eyes, you look 10x cuter" Marinette scratches his chin.

"Thanks" Adrien closed his eyes.
