Word of the Day: Burn (part I)

as a child,
he burnt armies of ants
with his magnifying glass —
cackling with glee
as he seared the helpless
with concentrated beams.

now he's a man
with a badge on his heart
and a god in his holster.
all these protesters are nothing but ants to him.
