Word of the Day: Smitten

The Butterfly, she chose —
Was smitten with the Rose.
She rested on his lips
And licked his nectar tips.

But in the Blush at large,
The god of camouflage —
The Mantis said a prayer,
Then plucked the Life from air.

This poem follows the syllable scheme of the Vietnamese thơ lục ngôn, where each line has six syllables. 

The capitalisations in this poem are deliberate nods to Ms. Emily Dickinson, who used such a technique for symbolic/allegorical effect :)
