EPILOGUE - Stardust & Sun-Tears
Part I
Let specks of stardust fall where they wish
It's foolish to fret over things beyond control
No spells will hatch a storm
(Yes, I've read of pilots sprinkling silver over clouds to make them rain
but that's beside the point)
We cannot stop the fugitive tempest *
We cannot stop the rage of Quarter Winds
We cannot stop the salted teeth of ocean waves
devouring man-made luxuries
Though we try
Oh, we try...
_____
Part II
Sink back against the meadow bluebells
and feel the planet's pulsing,
the creaking of its joints,
the shifting of its plates
Let the sun's breath upon your cheeks
take you to the Dawn
when the first fins walked
and the first feathers sprouted
Let the quaking
embrace you,
engulf you,
reclaim you
as your flesh feeds the earth
trickle by trickle,
morsel by morsel
Forebear of blooms,
ancestor of saplings,
warden of wildflowers
Rest in serenity
_____
* fugitive tempest: a pun on the Latin term "tempus fugit" (time flies)
Thank you very much for reading this far! :)
