If I could fly, is it okay to touch the sky?
I was a caterpillar, but now I'm a butterfly,
As the colors pass me by,
There's nothing to hold me down, to beyond the veil, I won't drown.
I just have to reach out high, let the wind dry my eyes, as I spread my wings-
To the sea that sets me free.

Broke through the darkness,
That I cocooned myself in,
Found strength in weakness,
That I can finally see again,
I kissed the night farewell,
And laid down the chains,
Picked myself up from the pieces,
That washed away in the rain,
And found that...
I've changed.

I was a caterpillar, but I became a butterfly,
Now look how high I can fly-
Soaring through the sky.
I morphed through the pain,
Now laughter bubbles up like champagne,
Hope is as fleeting as a dream, but my heart is still beating.
I just have to watch the sunrise, let it surround me in light, as I spread my wings-
I can finally breathe.
