Chapter 9

A/N: Sorry for slow updates!!! Forgive me!

Annabeth POV:

She didn't know what to think.

Her brain couldn't link the two of them together. Her brain just couldn't think at all. It was blank.

And that was something that never happened to Annabeth Chase.

She took deep breaths and walked back to the library. She just couldn't believe it.

Back to when she was sitting in the window of the library, she had missed Peter. Peter was the one who made jokes and made her laugh. He made stupid faces and always came to make Annabeth smile. But he's been gone for two days. And those two days have been hell.

Constant yells from Helen and cleaning has been stressful. Peter and the library is the only thing that made her calm.

But Peter was gone, and there was a feeling of emptiness in her gut. When she heard the shouts from outside, she took a peek at the window. What surprised her was the Prince of Crete was right there, on a horse with a girl's arms around his waist.

But he was directly looking at her. Annabeth could have sworn that he looked exactly like Peter, except the blonde hair. Exact features that matched Peter's. When he broke the gaze, Annabeth's curiosity grew.

As he galloped away, Annabeth decided to follow. She quickly got off her bean bag, and rushed to the door.

"I'll be back!" Annabeth quickly yelled for Mrs. Williams to hear.

Annabeth exited the library, and looked down the street. All the citizens were cheering as the Prince continued to ride.

Annabeth quickly followed behind, shoving people out of her way. She ignored the glares of people and eventually stopped shoving when she found herself at the Pizzeria Peter took her two days ago.

Her eyebrows furrowed as she saw the Prince and girl enter the Restaurant. She crept to the window, sneakily creeping away from the two guards at the door.

When she reached the window, she saw the Prince and the girl sit at the same table she and Peter did. Her brain couldn't focus as she saw the Prince talking with the girl. They were enjoying their time.

But something felt off. Annabeth knew that. The Prince was like an exact replica of Peter, except for the raven black hair. They had the same sea-green eyes, and same structure.

Were Peter and the Prince long lost brothers or something? Are they cousins? IN any way, are they related? Or are they the same person?..

When the Prince's head tilted to the window, Annabeth quickly got out of view. She sighed as she walked back down the street.

Her brain was still blank; not functioning what was happened all of a sudden. Her brain just asked questions. Questions that didn't have answers.

Where was Peter? Are Peter and Percy related? Was Peter and Percy the same person?

No, Annabeth. That's not possible. Peter couldn't possibly be the Prince.

But her thoughts were soon interrupted by a certain someone knocking her down to the floor.

"Oof!" Annabeth landed on her back.

"Oh my gods, I am so sorry-" A tall well-built guy got up and reached out his hand.

"It's fine. I'm clumsy anyway." Annabeth took his hand, and he helped her up.

"Hey, aren't you the girl who dropped off the shoes?" The guy asked.

Annabeth rubbed her temples then looked at the guy again. She immediately recognized him as the guy from May Castellan's Shoe Store.

"It's Luke, Luke Castellan. Remember me?" Luke scratched the back of his neck, his biceps clearly showing.

"Right." Annabeth smiled, staring at his blue eyes.

"Anyway, want to go get some coffee or something? You know, as an apology for knocking you down." Luke shyly asked.

Annabeth knew she had time before she had to run back home, and a little coffee wouldn't hurt.

"Sure." Annabeth gladly accepted.

Luke smiled and walked with her towards the coffee shop. Luke started cracking out jokes, making Annabeth laugh.

She missed someone being able to make her laugh. She missed someone to talk to. Someone to raise her spirits.

As she entered the coffee shop, the fresh smell of coffee beans filled the air. Annabeth tok a deep breath and sat at a table next to a window. Luke sat across from her, and smiled. She smiled back.

"Welcome to Coffee Bean, how may I help you." A girl came over with a uniform. If she was being honest, she'd say that the outfit was ridiculous.

Their hat was shaped as a coffee bean and their shirt uniform consisted of a bunch of coffee cups and coffee beans.

"One minute, please." Luke smiled and the girl left.

We looked at the menus, and I decided to get the special Pumpkin Spice Cappuccino.

Luke ordered the same thing, and soon our drinks were served. Luke took a sip of his drink, and looked out the window.

"Coffee Bean isn't really far from the Pizzeria. Did you see the Prince?" Luke mentioned.

"Yeah. And the girl with him." I sighed as I looked at the Pizzeria from the window.

"I just don't get this kingdom. The Prince and Majesties just think they're all wealthy and overpower all of them. If I was being honest, which I am right now, I'd say Kronos was a better leader." Luke took another sip.

Annabeth stared blankly at Luke. Kronos? The last king who almost killed his own children? The one who slaughtered so many people?

She just shook the comment away about Kronos and just came up with new conversations.

Luke got a Cappuccino mustache and he wiggled his eyebrows. Annabeth laughed, and held her sides.

Luke acted like a rich guy with a really nice mustache, and that made Annabeth laugh harder. She had a new friend, someone who made her laugh like Peter.

She had easily replaced him, and she hope Peter and Luke would become friends. They both made her feel happy, and that's what would make them best friends.

When they exited the store, Luke led her back to the library. She let him stay at the library with her in her special corner, and he took Peter's spot across from her.

As they continued laughing, the Prince and Rachel have passed by. Percy noticed the two in the window. Blackjack stopped in front of the library and squinted at the two.

Annabeth was laughing at a blonde guy sitting across from her. A spark of jealousy immediately hit him, and he scowled.

"Percy?" Rachel poked his cheek.

"Yeah? I'm fine." Percy grumbled as Blackjack continued trotting down the street.

Annabeth knew the Prince was watching, but who cares? Why would the Prince care? He was just a random creepy guy trying to intrude on their conversation.

As four neared the corner, Annabeth gave her goodbyes to Luke.

She departed the library with a wave at Mrs. Williams. The librarian looked a bit dissapointed, but waved nonetheless. (A/N: Seems like Mrs. Williams is a Percabeth shipper...or in this case, a Peterbeth ship)

As she walked to her house, her mind was losing control. Now she liked two guys at the same time.

How would she know if she took the right path?
