Chapter 3
The dress Annabeth is wearing in the picture above!
Annabeth POV
Arnold's cock-a-doodle-do echoed through the attic, waking Annabeth up early.
She yawned, and got up. She did her daily morning routine, and decided to wear one of her special dresses.
Annabeth hurriedly went downstairs, and began to make breakfast. As Annabeth began to make eggs and crispy bacon, Helen came from her room.
"Good morning, maid. Now, I need my shoes to be polished. So send them to the polisher, and make sure they are bright and clean. Then I need you to take some of my clothes to the ironing man. They are on my bed, so make sure you pick them up. The money is on my bed as well. Since you did most cleaning yesterday, make yourself useful and clean my closet. Set everything in order. Check on the animals and the barn." Helen ordered, sitting onto the chair of the dining table.
"Yes ma'am." Annabeth put the some eggs inside a plate, and put two bacon strips on the side. She handed them to Helen, then got a glass of milk for Helen as well.
The boys came downstairs, smelling the amazing aroma of bacon. (A/N: I feel bad for pigs. I don't eat pork btw. NO, I AM NOT A VEGETARIAN. Jeez.)
"Annie! You made bacon!" The boys said at the same time, climbing onot their chairs on the dining table, waiting to be served.
"Just for you." Annabeth winked at the boys as she placed the two plates in front of them.
The boys began stuffing their mouths as Annabeth washed up the kitchen.
"Alright. TIme for school, boys." Helen stood up and went to wash ehr hands.
The boys followed her example.
"Thanks for breakfast, Annabeth!" Bobby yelled as they left the house.
Annabeth sighed. She began washing the plates, saving the left overs for her for later.
Annabeth went out to the barn, and began watching the animals.
She sat down on a hay stack once she was inside the barn, the animals circling around her.
"Bob, why can't my life get easier?" Bob the horse nudged her shoulder, as Annabeth shed a few tears.
"I feel like a maid. No use for anything. Just somebody for Helen to play with." Tears streamed down Annabeth's cheeks.
She always feels lonely. Like nobody was there for her. Except her father. Frederick was always on trips, and barely came home.
All she had were these animals. She knew she sounded crazy, but it was all she had.
She closed her eyes, and let her sobs echo throughout the barn.
When she was done crying, she picked herself up and continued doing her chores that Helen has assigned to her.
*+*+*+*+
After she made dinner for Helen and the kids, Annabeth left to the attic.
She got her sea green hand bag, one that goes across your shoulder, then two straps attached to a pouch, where she leaves all of her belongings of importance.
She descended down the stairs, heading to Helen's room. She placed the money in a pocket inside the pouch, then zipped it closed.
She picked up a two bags that were across the room, and put in two of Helen's high heels and one of Helen's black boots. She used the other bag to neatly fold Helen's dresses and other clothes inside.
She sighed, and picked up the two heavy bags. She grunted as she walked towards the front door.
As she walked through the streets of the kingdom, all she could think of was her father.
She hoped her father would come home soon, to help her get away from her evil step mother.
When Annabeth got into 'May Castellan's Shoe Store!' she was greeted by a tall man with sandy blonde hair, with blue eyes.
She admired his features, but didn't notice the hand that was waving in her face.
"Um, Ma'am? Ma'am?..." The boy asked, waving his hand in her face.
Annabeth blinked twice, before blushing beet red.
"Oh, um, my step mother wants you to polish these." She quickly recovered, handing the boy the bag.
"Alright. Be back in twenty minutes." The boy took the bag, walking to the back of the store.
Annabeth hurriedly walked out of the store, breathing in fresh air. She couldn't believe what she just did. She was embarrassed, caught from staring at his face.
Annabeth sighed and walked towards the next store.
She quickened her pace, as the time kept ticking. When she got to 'Solace's Ironing!' she entered the store, and watched as kids worked from behind the counter.
"Good morning ma'am. My name is Will. How can I help you today?" A blonde kid said, smiling.
"I have a few clothes I need you guys to iron." Annabeth passed the bag to Will.
"Alrighty, be back in 20 minutes." Will smiled then pssed the bag to a girl with golden hair.
Annabeth got out of the store, and sat on one of the benches next to the store.
She sighed, and put her elbows onto her knees, and put her head on her hands.
She twirled with her hair, bored from all the waiting.
But she had an idea, speed walking through the streets of Crete, accidentally bumping into people. She sent a lot of "Sorry!"s to the people, until she finally reached her destination.
She smiled as she read the sign.
'Library of Crete'
She pushed through the doors, and smiled at Mrs. Williams.
"Good morning, Annabeth. Glad you could make it again today." Mrs. Williams greeted.
Annabeth smiled in return, before rushing back to the new books spot in Section five. She pulled out more books, then walked back to her spot next to the window, and sighed when he sat onto the bean bag.
"Forty minutes to spare." Annabeth said, beginning her new story.
