Chapter 10

Percy

He didn't know what to feel.

Jealousy? Or happiness? Glad? Or begrudging?

Either way, Percy still felt a little jealous. Watching Annabeth laughing and having fun with another guy made his blood boil.

But now he was just being a hypocrite. He had Rachel, and he was having fun and laughing with her. So why couldn't Annabeth?

"Percy? You have been staring at the wall for almost five minutes. You okay?" Rachel came over to him on his bed, her arms wrapped around his shoulders.

"Yeah. Yeah, I'm fine." Percy sighed and turned to Rachel.

It's been four days since their Pizzeria trip, and him and Rachel have gotten close. She was always there for him, and always smiled at him. She kept him smiling, and his mind always left his thoughts about Annabeth. But he always kept a small fragment of memory when the guy was making Annabeth laugh.

"Percy? You're doing it again." Rachel waved her hand in front of his face.

"Alright, alright." Percy smiled and took her hand.

He planted a small kiss on her hand before returning it to her. She giggled and Percy got up to hug her.

"Thanks for giving me a chance, Percy." Rachel grinned as Percy flopped them on the bed.

"Everyone deserves a chance, don't they?" Percy smiled and hugged her tighter.

"Yeah. You're right." Rachel kissed his cheek.

Sparks flew in his body as Percy gave her a quick kiss. He then got up and went to fix his tie.

Rachel pouted when he got up, and Percy just laughed.

"I have a meeting in ten minutes. I have to get ready." Percy sighed as his tie was still crooked.

Rachel snorted as she got up to help Percy with his tie.

As Rachel corrected his mistakes in tying, she tugged the tie and gave him a kiss. Percy smiled against her lips, and held her hips.

"What about the meeting?" Rachel smirked as she pulled away.

"Meany." Percy pouted.

"After the meeting are you free?"

"Yeah, why?"

"Remember the painting lessons?" Rachel sat back down on the bed.

"Right. I'll try to fit that into my agenda. Got to go, bye Rach." Percy pulled on his shoes and left the room.

"Bye, Perce." Rachel sighed as Percy left the room.

*Rachel POV*

Rachel sighed as Percy left the room.

She didn't like faking her relationship with Percy, but she had no choice. Her father had made her marry Percy without her agreement.

Just because he needed more power and money.

Rachel wished she had better parents. They were only there for the money and power. Eventually, she would have to stab Percy in the back. Her father made her put up with the stupid marriage only to become all cuddly with the Prince, then eventually kidnap him.

That was her plan. During their painting lessons, Rachel would send Percy away from the castle, where her father would be.

She hated the idea and the plan, but she was forced against her will. She had no choice. Her say didn't matter.

Tears clouded her eyes as Rachel sat on the bed alone. She enjoyed the relationship with Percy, and the kisses were real. True love.

But he would hate her sooner or later. Heck, she could be thrown in jail forever if the plan didn't work.

Rachel got off the bed and walked to the phone connected to the wall. Rachel dialed in a number, and the ringer went off.

Rachel waited impatiently.

Eventually there was a "Hello?"

"It's me, Rachel."

"Ok, and? Any information?"

"After Percy's meeting we are going to have painting lessons. You better be there. I don't want to live in a dungeon all my life." Rachel snarled.

"Good. Don't get too attached. We're watching."

"Bye." Rachel rolled her eyes.

"No I love you's?"

"I hate you. Bye." Rachel slammed the phone back into the wall.

She began sobbing as she slid down the wall and landed on the floor. She tucked in her knees and cried into them.

She wanted real parents. She wanted someone who enjoyed her presence, and loved having a daughter.

Percy was what made her happy.

Nothing else.

Oh, and strawberries.

*Back to Percy's POV*

He knew he couldn't attend the painting lessons. He had a mission. And that was to see Annabeth.

Was it considered cheating?

Technically, no. They weren't married nor in a relationship. And the blonde boy in the library talking to Annabeth made his blood boil. He wanted to figure out who he was, and what he wanted.

-After meeting-

Percy slowly opened the door to his room. There Rachel was, on the floor by the phone, sleeping peacefully.

She had tear streaked cheeks, which made Percy concerned. He lifted Rachel up and put her gently on the bed. After tucking her in, Percy quickly and silently changed.

Khaki shorts, a blue shirt, and his blonde wig.

He added an additional feature. Sunglasses. He was careful that Annabeth won't recognize him as the Prince.

Percy left the room, sneaked into the garden, and made his way towards the alley way.

As he walked down the streets of Crete, Percy felt butterflies in his stomach. As he neared the library, he found the blonde boy talking with Annabeth at their table.

Annabeth had a tear streaked face, and the blonde guy was putting an arm around her. She laid on his shoulder, which made Percy mad.

He tried controlling his anger as he swiped open the door. A slightly stunned Mrs. Williams greeted him and told him to come over.

Percy furrowed his eyebrows as he went to Mrs. Williams' desk.

"Listen, Peter. You see the blonde guy? He's big trouble. He has a record and I don't think Annabeth should be with him. Please help her. And where have you been?! She's been so upset lately!" Mrs. Williams continued.

"Sorry, family business I guess." Percy scratched the back of his neck.

He felt guilty for not seeing Annabeth for nearly 6 days. And in his place was a seemingly trouble maker Mrs. Williams didn't like.

"Go get her, tiger." Mrs. Williams urged him.

Percy took a deep breath as he walked towards Annabeth's table.

Once Annabeth spotted him, she stood straight and wiped her eyes. She glared at Percy as he waved.

The blonde guy looked at him disapprovingly.

"Hey, Annabeth."
