Sharing our pains and happiness together for almost a year, I didn't realise it was time for our high school graduation soon. The end term exams were near and like any other student, I was panicked as hell.
"Gosh! I have to revise so much!" I hysterically pulled my hair keeping my head down on the table.
"Don't fret that much. I know you've revised the syllabus two times already, you're going to rock the exams, Nari." He tried to console me, soon placing his head on his table beside mine.
"Says the one who must've revised it a thousand times already, Mister 'Top Ranker.' " I scoffed, making him chuckle at my statement.
"Let's do this. We can revise it together this month. After all, we're always left alone in the class." He suggested glancing all over the empty classroom and I nodded agreeing to him.
"Okay deal!"
"But… you know… I've been observing you since morning, why do you look so sad?" He said again, reading me like a book. I seriously can't escape from his laser-like eyes.
"My mom… she said she wishes for me to disappear."
I stared downwards towards my skirt playing with my fingers and tried my best to not cry. I don't wish to shed tears, these things should become normal to me with a face like that.
Again, these thoughts were back.
Soon, I choked on my voice and hid my face with my palms.
"Don't let anyone's words be the reason for your sadness. You're strong, so very strong. So, shut them up with your success." He spoke his words of wisdom with that boxy smile.
His words, they do have a healing effect because I felt hopeful everytime I listened to him.
