The next day at work, Jungkook stood in his manager's office with a grim expression on his face. He was certain he was going to be fired as the CEO stood up from a chair in front of his manager's desk. He closed his eyes tight as the CEO opened his mouth to speak. "I fired Mrs. Park today, Mr. Jeon," the CEO spoke, surprising Jungkook. He was certain that men always got the short end of the stick when it came to accusations of sexual assault, whether it was true or false.

"Wh- what? Why? Y- You believed me?" Jungkook asked questions rapid-fire, stunned that they'd believed him instead of her. The CEO crossed his arms over his chest and smiled softly at Jungkook's confusion and surprise. "You have good friends," the CEO spoke up, smiling softly. "They attested to your character and when we did look back over the video feed, we could tell that she was in control of the entire situation," the CEO explained, leaning back on his subordinate's desk.

Jungkook felt tears build up in his eyes at the CEO's words, thankful for his friends. He needed to not only thank them but the lord for introducing them into his life as well. He wiped his eyes as tears slowly dripped off his lashes onto his cheeks, his soft laughter through his tears filling the office. They were tears of relief and happiness as he bowed to the CEO of his company. Jungkook had never thought the CEO was nice or polite before, but this certainly changed his opinion of him.

"You should definitely thank Taehyung too," the CEO smiled fondly as he ruffled Jungkook's raven locks. Jungkook looked up in surprise, his doe eyes wide at the mention of Taehyung's name. "Wh- What makes you say that?" Jungkook asked softly, confused as to why the CEO would bring Taehyung up so suddenly. He was convinced that the CEO wouldn't bring up someone who had just randomly quit on them.

The CEO's fond smile didn't sit well with Jungkook as he continued speaking. "He was the one who implored I ensure that you are treated fairly in this situation. He even made a promise he'd come back to work with us to ensure you weren't fired without justification," the CEO stated as Jungkook's heart sank at those words. While he was especially grateful for Taehyung's help, he knew the elder wanted to travel, and to sacrifice his freedom for Jungkook's job security made him feel miserable.

He wanted Taehyung to be able to continue living the life he wanted and travel wherever he wanted. He didn't want Taehyung to feel like he had to return to this dreadful place or that he had to quit his travel early. "And as long as he upholds his end of the deal, your job will always remain safe because he asked for it," the CEO verified Jungkook's worse fears. The CEO was an appalling man that was going to use Jungkook's job security as blackmail against Taehyung so that he would have to return.

Jungkook hung his head at the CEO's words, folding his hands behind his back. He was pondering on why the CEO wanted Taehyung back so fervently. Taehyung was just another employee, wasn't he? Or did the CEO have some sort of relationship with Taehyung? Jungkook had been thinking to himself hard, but the more he questioned himself about the situation, the more cultivated his envy amassed.

The CEO was boisterously talking to the manager about how Taehyung was going to be his when he returned. That he'd been waiting a long time to date Taehyung, but the younger male was always playing hard to get. He talked about how he'd bought things for Taehyung and spoiled him, even when he hadn't asked for it. Jungkook watched as his own manager rolled his eyes at the CEO's bold statements. "You do know he wouldn't want to date you, right?" Jungkook's manager spoke up before Jungkook could say anything or lose his job for punching the man that gave him a weekly paycheck. It would have been worth losing his job over though if he was going to use Jungkook against Taehyung. "He was a very desirable man that could date anyone," the manager spoke again, resting his chin in the palm of his hand with a bored expression as he stared at the CEO. "What makes you think he'd want your old ass?"

Jungkook couldn't agree more with his manager's words, realizing he needed to ensure that Taehyung wouldn't want to date anyone else ever again. He was going to have to call Taehyung about this entire situation and forewarn him as the CEO laughed. He laughed as if that were the most preposterous thing he'd ever heard. "Oh, I'm certain he'll come around if I throw enough money at him," the CEO laughed and Jungkook felt his blood boil at this point. He turned and stormed out of the office, slamming the door as the manager and CEO glanced between each other.

Jungkook walked back towards his cubicle, now feeling the hot tears of anger and resentment roll down his cheeks. What did that asshole mean by 'he'll come around' if he threw enough money at Taehyung? Did he envision Taehyung as some sort of prostitute or something? Taehyung was the vision of a deity and shouldn't be seen as anything less. Jungkook huffed loudly in annoyance and dropped into his leather roller chair, pulling out his cell phone. He didn't care if he was at work, they could all fuck off because he desperately needed to warn Taehyung of the CEO's intentions.

Taehyung was relieved to see Jungkook's letter had arrived only a couple of days after he'd written it and sent it off. Jungkook did say he was going to send it off first class though, even if Taehyung had protested it. He laughed softly, opening the envelope up as he walked along the sidewalk towards his destination so that he wouldn't be late for his appointment.

All that was in the envelope was a letter and a picture of Jungkook. He stared at the picture for several moments, feeling his face heat up. The picture was of Jungkook in the bath and while it wasn't when they were participating in phone sex, there was nothing in the water to cover specific areas. Taehyung quickly tucked that photo away in his shirt pocket and figured it was because Taehyung had so boldly and blatantly admitted to masturbating to Jungkook's pictures. While the picture made him delirious with lust and need, he was happy to know that Jungkook felt comfortable enough to share pictures like this with him now.

Taehyung unfolded the letter and scanned over the words, Jungkook's handwriting crisp and clear. He froze in his spot as his eyes scanned over the first sentence, his heart beating even faster at the question:

Taehyung felt tears in his eyes, literal tears as he stared at the letter. This definitely made his day a lot better, Taehyung thought to himself. He folded the letter back up and placed the letter close to his heart as he continued on toward his appointment so that he wouldn't be late. This letter would keep his mind off of the radiation being pumped through his body as he entered the hospital's sliding doors.

In a matter of minutes, Taehyung was called back for his appointment. He clutched the letter tightly in his hand as the nurse lead him towards the back room. He sat down in the luxurious chair that she offered towards him and began preparing everything. He gripped Jungkook's letter tighter in his hands out of anxiety, the nurse turning towards him with the needle.

Taehyung winced as the needle entered his arm, already feeling weak as he glanced over at the nurse to see if she was done yet. "Now, that wasn't so bad was it?" She asked as Taehyung let out the breath he didn't realize he'd been holding. "I don't like needles," Taehyung answered softly, looking down at his love's letter pressed tightly against him. The nurse tucked his hair behind his ear as she smiled softly at him. "Doing this for a loved one then?" She asked softly, understanding the desire to live. He was so young.

Taehyung nodded weakly as he leaned his head back in the comfortable luxury chair they'd provided him. She dabbed gently at the sweat that was displayed across his forehead, realizing he must have been really anxious. "I know that you're scared, but this helps stop the faster-growing cells in your body. Plus, they may still be able to remove whatever is plaguing you," the nurse stated, patting Taehyung's hand tenderly.

"I have a malignant tumor," Taehyung declared bitterly, remembering the day his doctor had told him. The chemotherapy kept it from growing too enormous while he waited for a liver transplant. He'd been told that the waitlist could take years, but he didn't want to die just yet. He wanted to keep living and now that he'd be able to date Jungkook, even more so. He didn't want to see his life end so soon.

The nurse eyes him sympathetically, rubbing her thumb over the veins in his hands. "They can always remove that," she announced softly, attempting to cheer him up. He smiled softly as he continued to hold the letter that Jungkook had written him, tilting his head back into the comfortable chair. "No can do. The tumor is too big," he laughed self-deprecating, tapping his fingers on the chair. "But I am on the list to get a transplant," he announced, excitedly. "So hopefully that will put an end to all of this and the chemo will keep it from spreading for now. So I should be good after I get that done," he stated, trying to put on a brave face about this whole ordeal. He didn't want to drag his mood through the mud any more than he had already.

It was then that he felt his phone buzz against his thigh, causing him to jump slightly in the chair. He glanced at the nurse before setting his letter in his lap and pulling out his cell phone. He looked at the caller id to see that Jungkook was calling him as he glanced at the nurse again, his eyes pleading. He knew he shouldn't be having a conversation while here, but he couldn't help it, it was Jungkook.

She chuckled softly as he pulled out a pair of headphones as well. "Please?" Taehyung pleaded softly as she smiled and patted his hand again. "Okay, but keep it quiet and quick," she whispered, glancing back at all the other chemotherapy patients. She didn't want them to be bothered either as she watched Taehyung deftly plug his headphones into the headphone jack and answer the phone in one fluid motion before shoving the earbuds in his ears. "Kookie," Taehyung cooed softly, trying to remain upbeat. He wasn't quite ready to tell Jungkook everything, but with time, he'd definitely tell him anything Jungkook wanted to know.

He heard a soft sigh of relief on the other end and wondered what had Jungkook so frazzled before. "Everything okay?" Taehyung asked, whispering into the microphone as the nurse looked at him. He could tell she was questioning him on why he'd be asking someone else if they were okay.

"It's just so good to hear your voice, Tae. I- I wanted to know if you got my letter?" Jungkook asked and Taehyung swallowed hard as he glanced at the letter still in his lap. "Yes, I did, love," he answered softly, almost breathily as he remembered the picture Jungkook had sent. He heard the rustling of papers from Jungkook's end as he groaned softly. "You're not doing what I think you're doing, are you? I know what picture I sent you," Jungkook recounted, feeling his cock twitch slightly in his own slacks. He had to remain focused on thoughts that were not at all sexy, like the fact that he was at work right now.

Taehyung chuckled breathily into the microphone, earning the nurse's attention. "Do you want me to be doing anything? I was just sitting here... writing up your letter," Taehyung lied, earning a soft slap to his thigh from the nurse. She shook her head in dismay as he continued talking. "Why did you want to know if I got your letter though?" Taehyung asked tenderly, wishing he could hold Jungkook's hand right now.

"Well, the CEO kind of pissed me off," Jungkook announced boldly, his jaw locked as his tongue poked the side of his cheek in jealousy. "He said that if he threw enough money at you, you'd date him like you're some kind of slut or something," Jungkook added, annoyed and Taehyung could definitely hear the annoyance in Jungkook's voice as he tried to lighten the mood. "I could be your slut," Taehyung whispered boldly as Jungkook choked on his own saliva. Taehyung earned a passive glance from the nurse as she fanned her face that heated up with second hand embarrassment from the conversation she was hearing.

Jungkook coughed before regaining his composure, his face red and heated as he realized that all those unsexy thoughts had now been no use. He could feel himself scraping against his zipper as he cleared his throat. "W- well then," Jungkook started, trying to recompose himself. Taehyung was loving the fact that he'd been able to embarrass Jungkook so terribly as he giggled softly. "Do you want me-"

"Stop right there," Jungkook cut him off, clearing his throat again as he heaved a sigh of relief. He could hear Taehyung giggling once again as he gathered his courage and prepared for rejection, just in case. "You read my letter then?" Jungkook asked and that brought Taehyung's attention back to the letter in his lap. "Of course I read your letter, love," Taehyung responded softly, smiling even if Jungkook couldn't see it. Jungkook realized Taehyung was using pet names more than normal as he wondered if he was going to have a boyfriend before this phone call ended. "Good then," Jungkook stated in relief. "What's your answer?" Jungkook asked nervously as Taehyung paused on the other line.
