Jungkook sat at his desk with a bored expression on his face as he typed up the reports that were required of him. He felt that prick of loneliness growing inside of him, feeling as if he were fighting back tears at this point. He sighed loudly as he continued to type, his thoughts wandering over how boring and useless his life was and ways to escape that.
Jungkook sighed softly once again as his cubicle partner approached him. "Hey, Kookie," Hyemin greeted, walking over and taking a seat on the edge of his desk. Clasping the edges with her hands, she leaned over to allow him a peek down her shirt which he ignored and kept focusing on his work. Hyemin rolled her eyes in annoyance as she tossed her hair over her shoulder. "Kookie, why are you ignoring your girlfriend?" Hyemin asked, feigning being hurt by his innocuous behavior.
"Not interested," Jungkook replied flatly, honestly annoyed that she was already acting like this when he was only pretending. He'd only agreed to be her artificial boyfriend outside of the office. She didn't have to act like they were dating in the office if she only needed the guy to see them on the street. Hyemin shoved his arm playfully, breaking his concentration. "Could you not do that?" Jungkook asked rather harshly, standing up from his seat quickly. "I have work I have to do and you're being nothing more than a distraction," he explained as she gripped the end of his tie. She wrapped his tie around her delicate hand and pulled him towards her, pressing her lips to his own- only for him to jump back. He wiped his mouth with the back of his hand as if her kisses were something foul.
Hyemin pouted as she crossed her arms under her voluptuous chest. "That wasn't very nice, Kookie. I can take care of you," she declared, crossing one of her legs over the other. "You're not even giving me a chance to test if you really do like girls or not," she added in her annoyance. Jungkook glared at her, his gaze razor sharp as he lifted it from the ground. "We're at work, first off. This sort of behavior isn't even appropriate. Second, I said I'd pretend to be your boyfriend. Why are you treating this as if we really are in a relationship?" Jungkook asked, annoyed as he pulled his chair away from his desk so that he wouldn't have to sit so close to her.
Hyemin scooted off of his desk, rolling her eyes as she walked over towards his chair. "I'll see you at lunch, cutie," she asserted blatantly before pecking his lips. He wiped his mouth with the back of his hand yet again as she walked over towards her own desk. He rolled his eyes as she scooted closer towards his desk yet again and continued his work without further interruption. That was until it was time for their lunch.
Jungkook stood from his desk, stretching his stiff body as he felt a delicate hand smack his ass. He quickly shifted his position to see Hyemin smiling up at him as he brushed her off yet again. Although she wasn't letting him go that easily as she looped her arm around his own. "You're coming with me for lunch," she demanded, yanking him in the direction she wanted him. He tried to pull his arm from her grasp, but she dug her hard acrylic nails into his arm as he hissed in pain. "Where are we going?" Jungkook asked in annoyance as she smiled up at him. "You'll see," she stated, dragging him over towards the staircase instead of the elevator.
Already, Jungkook found this suspicious as he yanked on his arm again, earning painful scratches from those long, fake nails. Hyemin continued to drag him along as she opened the door, pulling him inside the stairwell. "You said that behavior wasn't appropriate for work, but we're on lunch now," she whispered, pushing him up against the back wall away from the door. "I figured if we were going to try and see if you like girls at all, what better way than to have sex with each other?" Hyemin asked, roughly pulling him into a kiss.
He shook his head into the kiss and pulled away from her, holding her wrists tightly in his hands. "I don't think that's a good idea at all," Jungkook cried out, retracting from her completely. He was still a virgin in both ways and he didn't want her as his first for anything, even if she had already stolen his first kiss. "We're still at work! This is still very inappropriate! And I don't like you kissing me, what makes you think I'd like anything else from you," Jungkook defended, blatantly trying to hurt her feelings in hopes that she'll give up on him.
Hyemin's eyes only narrowed with determination as she pushed her body against his own, his tie gripped tightly in her hand once again. She yanked his head down for a kiss, sliding her hand down his body until she reached his waistline. Jungkook in his own panic, gripped her wrist tightly so that she couldn't go any further. "Mm, n- no, not there," he whispered desperately, not really fighting any urges against her. There really were none. He wasn't excited by her kisses or her touches, his body reacting completely differently than when he only hears Taehyung's voice.
She pressed further anyway, her hand sliding further down until she was massaging his flaccid cock. She was trying to get him excited and hard, but that wasn't working at all as he pushed her away once again. He yanked his tie firmly from her grasp, gasping in disgust as he glared at her once more. When she tried to step closer once more, he turned and fled up the stairs to get onto another floor to get away from her.
He shoved the door open as he reached the next floor, gasping as he continued to run towards the elevator. He had to report this to his manager before she did, fully aware that he could lose his job if she did so first. He rushed onto the open elevator that was going down, finding Jimin inside already. Jimin tilted his head at Jungkook's disheveled appearance when he rushed onto the elevator. "Jungkook? Is everything okay?" Jimin asked, his concern for his friend growing when Jungkook broke down and started sobbing.
Jimin quickly wrapped Jungkook in a hug, wondering what was bothering him because Jungkook was too distraught to talk. Jungkook buried his face in Jimin's shoulder finally squeezing out what had happened in the stairwell. In his anger, Jimin tightened his grip around Jungkook, gently patting his head and down his back. "We'll report her for sexual harassment, Kookie. Don't cry. I'll take care of this for you," Jimin whispered, both of them stepping off the elevator on Jungkook's department floor.
Jimin grabbed Jungkook's hand as they rushed towards the department manager's office. Jungkook froze outside the door when he noticed Hyemin was already inside the manager's office. They could both see that her hair was a disheveled mess and her shirt had been yanked off her shoulder as she shed crocodile tears for the manager. Jimin, however, charged inside the office and slammed his hands down on the manager's desk. "Don't you dare listen to her blatant lies," Jimin spat venomously, glaring over his shoulder at her. "I know my best friend and he wouldn't do anything that she's telling you. In fact, he ran into me on the elevator after escaping her and cried uncontrollably because of her disgusting behavior. He won't even enter the office because she's here. Now, tell me that doesn't seem like he's more traumatized than this liar," Jimin added, pointing to Jungkook, who remained frozen outside the office with a look of sincere fear.
After several minutes of arguing and yelling with Hyemin, the manager, and the CEO that had been called down, they agreed to do an investigation before they decided who would be fired for sexual misconduct. Both Jungkook and Hyemin were sent home early for personal reasons, Jimin leaving with Jungkook so that he had someone to talk things out.

Jungkook sighed heavily with anxiety as Jimin gently patted his shoulder. Jungkook had never feared losing his job before like this, even if he hated working there. It paid the bills and kept him well-nourished with food. "Wh- What am I going to do if I lose my job, Minnie? I won't be able to pay rent or... Or anything," Jungkook whispered, feeling tears in his eyes once again. They were close to their apartment buildings now as Jimin turned toward Jungkook, firmly gripping Jungkook's shoulders in his hands.
"You won't lose your job, Kookie. If push comes to shove and you do happen to lose your job, I did offer you a place to stay. You'll always have a place to stay because the offer still stands," Jimin assured, offering a small smile to a grim Jungkook. Jungkook nodded blankly, hearing Jimin but at the same time, it wasn't registering in his brain. Jungkook gently patted Jimin's hands and offered an empty smile that didn't fully reach his eyes.
Jimin sighed softly as he dropped his arms to his side while they continued to walk towards their buildings. "Hey, do you want to come over? So that you're not alone right now," Jimin noted, watching as Jungkook walked over towards the breezeway that leads to his apartment. "I'm just going to go home for now and maybe take a nap," Jungkook confessed softly, dragging his feet towards the breezeway. He could see Jimin's expression fall and sighed softly to himself. "I'll come over later tonight," Jungkook conceded, nodding in affirmation.
Jimin immediately perked up and nodded vigorously as they went their separate ways for now. Jungkook entered the breezeway and walked over towards his mailbox. This time, when he opened his mailbox, there was that same pristine white envelope sitting atop all the rest of his mail. Jungkook snatched the mail out of the mailbox, feeling a wave of relief wash over him as he hugged the envelope tightly to his chest.
He quickly found the key to his apartment, unlocking the door briskly. He rushed inside before shutting and locking his door yet again so that no one could bother him. Jungkook dropped the rest of the mail onto the floor the moment he turned the envelope over to read:
𝓘 𝓱𝓪𝓿𝓮 𝓴𝓲𝓼𝓼𝓮𝓭 𝓽𝓱𝓲𝓼 𝓹𝓾𝓻𝓹𝓵𝓮 𝓱𝓮𝓪𝓻𝓽. 𝓞𝓷𝓬𝓮 𝔂𝓸𝓾 𝓽𝓸𝓾𝓬𝓱 𝓲𝓽, 𝓘 𝓱𝓪𝓿𝓮 𝓴𝓲𝓼𝓼𝓮𝓭 𝔂𝓸𝓾~♡
Jungkook's face flushed bright red as he smiled at the words, gently plucking the purple heart off of the flap. He placed it off to the corner of the envelope to preserve it and quickly opened the flap by ripping it. He pulled the postcard, letter, and pictures out of the envelope as he walked over towards his kitchen table. He took a seat at the table, opening Taehyung's letter first:

Jungkook felt his breath hitch as he reread the words in Taehyung's letter over and over. He felt as if his heart could burst as he hugged the letter to his chest and reached for his phone without looking at the picture or postcard just yet. Immediately, he called Taehyung's number, hoping and praying that Taehyung was still awake as it rang several times before it was picked up. "Hello?" came the groggy voice of Taehyung, gravelly, and heavy with sleep.
Jungkook felt an immediate lump in his throat before he cleared his throat hesitantly. "T- Taehyung," Jungkook greeted chipperly, and he felt tears collect in his eyes. "I- I didn't wake you, did I?" Jungkook asked as he heard a soft yawn. "Not at all," Taehyung answered, but Jungkook could tell that he was tired. He felt a pang of guilt for waking Taehyung, but he really wanted to get this dreadful day off his chest. Even though he'd already done so with Jimin and Jimin had tried every which way to make him feel better, something about talking to Taehyung made it all okay again.
