After more visits to the doctor's for his sessions and another three weeks in Iowa, Taehyung and Jungkook were waking up to pack their things and leave for their next destination. Once again, Taehyung seemed more tired than he'd like to have admitted but he also knew he couldn't hide anything from Jungkook's shrewd gaze. When they'd landed, Jungkook could definitely tell something was wrong as he steadied Taehyung on his feet. "Tae, are you absolutely certain the flights aren't making you extra exhausted? We could rent a car and travel that way. We'd get to see more sights we normally wouldn't see up in the air," Jungkook reasoned gently as Taehyung teetered out of the loading dock and navigated toward the luggage carousel. Taehyung stopped to consider Jungkook's words but he didn't think being trapped in a car for an extended period of hours would make him feel any less tired. "I wouldn't be able to do much of the driving, love. And I don't want you to have to do most of all of the driving and make yourself exhausted, love," Taehyung whispered tenderly, lovingly brushing his lips against Jungkook's before continuing towards the carousel. Once they had their luggage in hand, Taehyung made the arrangements for their transportation to their hotel.
When they arrived at the front doors of their luxurious hotel, Jungkook realized they would be staying at a resort this time. His mouth hanging open in awe, he could hear the children screaming with joy and laughter from the waterpark far behind the walls of this resort. Jungkook followed Taehyung inside the front entrance, glancing all around the elaborately decorated lobby. A giant crystal chandelier hung from the ceiling directly above them, and two fireplaces on either side of them as they walked further inside separated the left and right side lobbies from the main foyer. Two tan, cozy little couches and four maroon recliners on either side of the couches posed in the sitting areas for guests to relax upon. Jungkook watched the pattern of maroon and gold triangled carpet as he walked behind Taehyung. Right in front of them was a large staircase that split into two separate stairways at one landing, leading to the left and the right hallways that contained rooms. It was the first time Jungkook had ever been to such a fancy place that they'd only temporarily be staying. While Taehyung checked into their room, Jungkook felt an overwhelming sense that he was going to be pampered by Taehyung and Jungkook wanted it the other way around. He felt Taehyung deserved to be pampered and coddled too.
When Taehyung walked back toward Jungkook with a soft smile and their key card in hand, Jungkook noticed something strikingly off about Taehyung. He didn't understand how he hadn't noticed it sooner but Taehyung's smile hadn't seemed as lively as it once was. This bothered Jungkook as he pushed the thought to the back of his mind, hoping he was just imagining things. "Should we head to our room and settle down?" Taehyung inquired softly, walking up the large staircase. Jungkook hastily followed after him since Taehyung was carrying his suitcase up the stairs. Jungkook hastily grabbed the handle of Taehyung's suitcase, a stern expression in his eyes as Taehyung resigned and released the handle. With Jungkook carrying both their luggage, Taehyung navigated them down a long hall that opened up into a conservatory full of lush, green plants before they finally reached their room. Taehyung opened the door for them, holding it open for Jungkook as the younger waltzed inside and placed their suitcases off to the side of their bedside table.
The room was much larger than they were used to having, but Taehyung wasn't complaining as he flopped face down onto the bed. Jungkook lay across the bed with his feet still planted firmly on the ground before smiling at Taehyung's face planted into the comforter. "Would you mind if I took the key card? I need to do some shopping," Jungkook announced softly, hoping Taehyung would allow him to go by himself. Taehyung turned his face towards the side, holding the key card out to him. "Do you need me to come with you?" Taehyung asked softly, trying to hide the grogginess in his voice as Jungkook chuckled softly at him. Jungkook tenderly brushed Taehyung's hair to the side of his face, offering Taehyung a quick peck to his lips. "I can handle it myself, love. You get some rest and I'll be back shortly," Jungkook reassured lovingly, watching as Taehyung's eyes slid shut before leaving the room.

When Jungkook returned, he had bags of goods wrapped chokingly around his wrists. When Taehyung heard the loud rustling of the bags and the struggle of Jungkook attempting to get through the door, Taehyung opened one of his eyes. Taehyung groggily lifted himself from the mattress to help Jungkook, only for the younger to shake his head. "I got it, love. Just hold the door for me," Jungkook reasoned as Taehyung obeyed, rubbing his eyes that were still heavy with sleep. Jungkook set everything down on the small coffee table and couch with a satisfied smile as he pulled the first object from the bag before presenting it to Taehyung. In Jungkook's hand was a light brown soft, fleece sweater as Taehyung tilted his head. "What's this for?" Taehyung asked curiously, staring at the sweater with slight confusion. Jungkook huffed softly before wrapping the sweater around Taehyung's neck to pull him closer. "I know that the northern states are colder than the southern states so I got it for you," Jungkook reasoned softly, kissing Taehyung tenderly before releasing the sleeves. The sweater remained draped over Taehyung's shoulders as he stared at Jungkook in surprise while he pulled a darker brown, fleece scarf from the same bag. He proceeded to hand Taehyung mittens, ear muffs, a wool beanie, and a few pairs of fleece pants. "These should keep you warm in the coming winter months, Tae. I've noticed you shivering just a bit more than normal," Jungkook declared tenderly as Taehyung's eyes misted over with unshed tears. He hadn't asked Jungkook to buy him these things nor had he even mentioned them and the younger thought to buy them on his own.
Taehyung placed the items on the bed before throwing his arms around Jungkook and burying his face in Jungkook's neck. Jungkook grasped the back of Taehyung's shirt, trying not to be excited by the action as Taehyung sniffled. "Thank you so much, darling. Y- You didn't have to get me anything," Taehyung whispered tenderly against Jungkook's neck, placing a loving kiss on his neck as well. Jungkook smiled softly to himself as he wrapped his arms tightly around Taehyung and rocked him slightly. "I know I didn't have to get you all that but I wanted to get it for you. It's getting colder with each passing day and you're becoming more susceptible to illnesses as the seasons shift to colder days," Jungkook reasoned softly, pulling back from the hug to kiss Taehyung's nose. Taehyung's nose twitched slightly as Jungkook chuckled lovingly, wrapping his arms around Taehyung's neck with a tender smile. He kissed Taehyung sensually, the elder melting into the kiss as he gripped Jungkook's hips to pull him closer. When Taehyung's legs felt like jelly and felt like they couldn't support him any longer, Jungkook held Taehyung tighter to keep him on his feet. After an intense kiss, Jungkook pulled away to breathe, staring at Taehyung with lust before smiling at him. "Now, get dressed. I planned today's excursion and we should head out before it gets too dark and too cold," Jungkook announced playfully, turning his back toward Taehyung and walking toward their forgotten suitcases to freshen up.
Once they were both freshened up and Taehyung was dressed in the clothes Jungkook bought him, the two set out on the adventure Jungkook planned for them. Taehyung grasped Jungkook's hand as he followed behind him, curious as to where Jungkook would be leading them. After some time walking, a gigantic and gleaming metal arch came into view while Taehyung craned his neck to look up at it. It was a spectacular structure that he'd never seen before and Jungkook had taken this day to bring him here. "I know our first day is normally a relaxation day but I wanted you to see this as soon as possible," Jungkook explained softly, mistaking Taehyung's silence for irritation. Taehyung smiled softly before tugging on Jungkook's hand slightly, earning the younger male's attention. "I don't mind as long as I'm with you," Taehyung whispered lovingly, his words carried on the wind as he smiled tenderly at Jungkook.
Jungkook flushed bright red at the words and the way the sun reflected Taehyung's adoration for the younger. He averted his gaze to the ground as Taehyung chuckled softly, brushed his hand over the soft fuzzy prickles sprouting up from Jungkook's scalp, and kissed the younger's lips softly. Jungkook was scrambling for words as Taehyung hummed softly, staring up at the magnificent structure and awaiting further instruction. Jungkook mumbled under his breath about Taehyung not being fair before pulling the elder male toward him with a gentle smile of his own. "You have a way of making me feel so loved and embarrassed at the same time," Jungkook declared with a playful tone before turning and hastily walking toward the entrance. Taehyung blinked a few times in confusion before following after him just as hastily.
Once inside, they rode the elevator 630 feet up to the top of the structure. Jungkook glanced over at Taehyung excitedly before leaning against the elder's shoulder. "Hopefully, I planned the day well enough to your liking," Jungkook mentioned softly, casting his gaze on the ground when Taehyung's eyes shifted toward him. Jungkook was worried it wouldn't be up to Taehyung's standards and if things were to get worse for him if Taehyung would regret his decision in allowing Jungkook to plan today. Taehyung smiled softly before kissing the top of Jungkook's head, the dark prickles that were growing there tickling his nose. "I'm sure it'll be the perfect day, love," Taehyung reassured tenderly, squeezing Jungkook's hand for extra encouragement. "So try not to stress yourself out over it too much," Taehyung added softly, smiling when the elevator stopped. They both waited for the doors to open before stepping out onto the landing, seeing nothing but crisp, clean glass reflecting the sky and fluffy cotton candy clouds. "You ready to take a look at that view?" Jungkook asked with a challenge, wondering if he'd be petrified by how high they were up in this structure. Taehyung nodded firmly, his eyes set on the windows in front of them as they deliberately approached one of them. Still holding each other's hand, they stepped up to the bay window with mouths agape. The view from this high up was spectacular and like nothing Jungkook had ever seen before. The bright blue sky with the cotton candy clouds loomed endlessly in front of them until the setting sun cast orange, red, and yellow hues of fire across the horizon. The sky a mixture of blue, soft pink, and lilac purple while the building's windows below reflected the evening toward everyone.
Jungkook heard Taehyung inhale sharply, glancing over at him out of concern. Taehyung's expression was unreadable as Jungkook continued to stare at him in concern before Taehyung shook his head and finally tore his eyes away from the view outside. "It's absolutely gorgeous up here. I'm glad this is the first place you thought to bring us," Taehyung admitted softly, turning back toward the window with a radiant smile. Jungkook smiled to himself at Taehyung's compliment, suddenly feeling shy as he turned back towards the view outside as well. He didn't want Taehyung to see he'd been embarrassed and excited by his praise. They continued to stare out the windows from different angles, leaning slightly closer to see if they could see any of the people below. The cityscape was illuminated by the setting sun and waking nightlife as Jungkook leaned his head against Taehyung's shoulder once more. "I also obtained us a dinner reservation for the evening," Jungkook announced quietly, rubbing his free hand up and down Taehyung's forearm. "We should go ahead and get going to that if we want to keep it," Jungkook added firmly, glancing up at Taehyung to see if there was any resistance. Taehyung stared down at Jungkook with a soft smile before nodding his head. "Sure, let's go," Taehyung reaffirmed elegantly, gesturing for Jungkook to lead the way.
