Indiana III

Hello, my loves~♡ How are you doing? I am doing a lot better now that my medications have arrived.:3 So no more need to worry about me not taking care of myself.😂🤣 I apologize that this chapter is a little later than expected but I woke up late Friday and had to be at work in an hour.🤣😂 Which didn't leave a lot of time to eat and shower.😂🤣 Although, I managed.:3 Then I don't get off work until after 10:30 and I can't read in the car, it gives me terrible motion sickness. Believe me, I've tried before.🤣😂 So... it was midnight before I knew it, especially after dinner and then it kind of got later and later as I talked with my parents. I finally had a free moment to edit this chapter and now post it~♡ So this chapter contains mentions of blood and some abuse, although nothing too serious. It only scratches the surfaces of those topics.:3 The girl makes her appearance again but for a specific reason.:3 Can you guess why? I'll let you read to find out~♡ Although, another person from the past has made their presence known once again~ Can you guess who that is? You'll have to keep reading to find out~♡ I hope that you all will enjoy this chapter~♡ It has some surprises.:3

Jungkook couldn't help but cry out of anxiety as Taehyung's head rolled limply in his lap, his fear of Taehyung dying intensifying. Taehyung's breathing was labored as blood trickled from the side of his parted lips. The DJ and owners now rushed out onto the rink to help get Taehyung's skates off and replace his shoes so that when the ambulance arrived, he was ready to go. "What happened?" The DJ asked calmly as Jungkook tenderly stroked Taehyung's hair, trying to soothe Taehyung's pain somehow. Jungkook hiccupped harshly, trying to answer coherently, only for sniffles and labored panic breathing as the sole answer. The teenager rubbed her elbow before offering a soft answer. "I accidentally cut across his path... I- I think my elbow hit him in his side," she clarified quietly, flustered that she'd caused this man such pain.

Taehyung groaned softly, more blood spilling out the side of his mouth and onto Jungkook's pants as the younger nodded. "H- He has liver cancer th- that spread to his kidneys," Jungkook elaborated through his panicked tears, earning the teenager a sharp glare from her mother. Her mother knew it wasn't an accident as her daughter had so claimed because her friends were trying to record the prank. Her mother grabbed her arm harshly, pulling her off the floor and away from the scene with a fire in her eyes as the emergency responders rushed inside the building. They swiftly pulled the gurney onto the skating floor with them, rushing towards the small group gathered around a collapsed male. They checked to ensure Taehyung was still responsive before loading him onto the gurney. Jungkook hastily changed out of his skates and threw his shoes on as he followed them out to the ambulance. Jungkook boarded the bench beside Taehyung, hastily taking his hand as they shut the door firmly and rushed to the hospital.

After several hours, Taehyung's eyes finally fluttered open as he languidly peeked at his surroundings. He coughed hard once, his hand splattered with blood when he withdrew from covering his mouth. Taehyung grimaced at the amount of pain that coursed through him from that one cough, his head feeling weak as he laid back on the pillow. Jungkook strolled into the room, a small bag of chips in his hand before he noticed Taehyung was awake. The chips lay forgotten on the floor as Jungkook rushed to Taehyung's side, stroking his hair and kissing him all over his face. "I was so terrified that you were never going to wake up again," Jungkook blurted out, his tears falling on Taehyung's face. Taehyung offered a soft and almost forced chuckle as he weakly wiped tears from under Jungkook's eyes. "A little fall isn't going to take me out that easily," Taehyung reassured softly, running his fingers through Jungkook's hair as the younger rested his head on Taehyung's chest.

"That doesn't mean it can't happen, Tae... I- I don't know what I'd do if they told me you were never going to open your eyes again," Jungkook sniffled out, his tears now staining Taehyung's bedsheets. Taehyung continued to weakly run his fingers through Jungkook's hair, a tender smile gracing his lips as he gingerly lifted Jungkook's head to look him in the eyes. "I know, love, but you'd continue on without me. It would hurt, I'm sure, but you'd eventually find someone else and move on," Taehyung answered blatantly, earning a sharp glare from Jungkook. "What if I don't want to move on?" Jungkook inquired challengingly, lifting his head off Taehyung's chest to prove to the elder how determined he was about Taehyung. Taehyung merely blinked at Jungkook, the circles around Taehyung's eyes dark as he sighed in defeat. "It's what I'd want you to do but if you'd rather dwell on my passing, it's not like I'd be able to stop you," Taehyung answered softly, almost too quiet for Jungkook's comfort as Jungkook sniffled softly at Taehyung's words. Fresh tears now trickled down his cheeks from this discussion. He didn't want to talk about death the moment Taehyung woke up, it just sort of happened.

"Baby, please don't cry," Taehyung reassured softly, moving to sit up and only wincing in pain before spilling more blood onto his white sheets. "Fuck," Taehyung whined softly, rolling around on his bed from the immense pain that wracked his body. Jungkook immediately dried his eyes and soothed Taehyung with tender kisses and caresses to his face. "I- I'm sorry, love. I can't help it... Thinking about not being with you hurts too much," Jungkook admitted tenderly as Taehyung continued to hiss in pain, his eyes peeking open to meet Jungkook's gaze though. "The doctor told me her elbow must have landed straight in your side when you two both fell and that's why you were throwing up and spitting up blood. She's caused some internal bruising to your right kidney but it should heal within the month," Jungkook explained softly as Taehyung's pain finally eased and he deliberately opened his eyes. "That's the partially good one too," Taehyung whined softly as Jungkook chuckled tenderly before placing a chaste kiss upon Taehyung's lips. "The doctor said it'll be okay again soon though. That you had only passed out from feeling weak after throwing up and the pain," Jungkook whispered softly, his lips still inches from Taehyung's own before he brushed them together. Jungkook pulled away though when he heard a gentle knock at the door, both males were surprised to see the teenage girl and her mother standing in the doorway.

"We're not... interrupting anything, are we?" The mother asked hesitantly as both Jungkook and Taehyung shook their heads pleasantly. "No, please come in," Taehyung offered quietly, his voice husky and hoarse from violently expelling his own blood. "What brings you here?" Taehyung inquired curiously as the mother nudged her daughter harshly in the arm. Taehyung coerced himself into a sitting position, hissing at the amount of pain this brought him as blood seeped from the corner of his lips. "I- I'm sorry. I- It still really hurts," Taehyung apologized softly as the mother shook her head. "No, no! It's my daughter who should be the one apologizing," she insisted hastily, shoving her daughter forward. "Apologize to him, Abigail! Now," her mother demanded as Abigail hesitantly met Taehyung's soft and warm gaze. They could all see that Taehyung didn't hold this against her as Abigail quivered in her spot and stared down at the ground.

"I- I'm s- sorry, sir! I- I had no idea my little prank would have ended so horribly. I- I didn't mean to hurt you like that," Abigail sniffled out, her shoulders shivering with the threat of tears. "W- We were just t- trying to film a funny TikTok," she explained hastily, her tears falling from her eyes as Taehyung offered a tender smile. He gently reached out and softly wiped her tears for her with a radiant smile of compassion. When she looked up from the ground, she was almost blinded by the brilliance of his boxy smile and compassion before offering a soft smile in return. She hastily tried to wipe her eyes with Taehyung's help, a warm smile spreading across Jungkook's face now. He had known Taehyung was kind and loving, but he didn't realize the elder could be so forgiving as well. "Let this be a lesson though," Taehyung advised softly, tilting his head to the side to try and meet Abigail's eyes. "You never know what someone else is going through and that even being playful with people can have dire consequences sometimes," Taehyung continued softly, still smiling tenderly as he abruptly dropped his hand from Abigail's face.

When Abigail looked up from the ground and over towards the door, there was an unfamiliar man standing in the doorway, holding a bouquet of beautiful flowers. She glanced over at the man she'd hurt, only to realize the unreadable expression on his face seemed pained and stiff now. "What are you doing here?" Taehyung inquired sternly, his hands gripping his sheets hard enough for his knuckles to turn pale. Abigail was going to ask if he was okay until her mother pulled her back into her, wary of the man in the doorway since Taehyung's demeanor had changed so drastically. Jungkook seemed surprised as he stared at the man with skepticism. "Mr. CEO? Why are you here?" Jungkook inquired softly, noticing Taehyung's sudden shift in demeanor as well. Taehyung suddenly seemed uncomfortable and vulnerable as Jungkook tried to soothe Taehyung's fear by rubbing circles on his back. The CEO's eyes snapped towards Taehyung at Jungkook's gesture, his eyes narrowing at the two of them.

Taehyung averted his eyes, trying to look at anything but the man who wanted him for nothing more than his body. The CEO laughed nonchalantly at Jungkook's question, staring oddly at Taehyung. Jungkook felt his blood boil at the look he was giving Taehyung, glancing at Taehyung before tilting his head in curiosity. He wondered why Taehyung was so uneasy now when he was known to flirt with the CEO prior to his absence at the company. "I'm here to visit Taehyung, isn't that obvious? Since you suddenly decided to travel with him, I figured I could try too," the CEO explained blatantly as if his logic should be obvious. Jungkook's eyes widened at the CEO's words before they narrowed in agitation. "No need. He's already in good company. He doesn't need yours," Jungkook spat venomously, his voice dripping with jealousy as he earned a surprised look from Taehyung. He'd never heard Jungkook sound so jealous before but he wasn't complaining about it either as he watched a fire rage behind Jungkook's eyes.

The CEO scoffed as Taehyung suddenly turned his head towards the CEO with a scowl. "I asked a question. Why are you here?" Taehyung spat in annoyance, crossing his arms over his chest. Jungkook was relieved to know Taehyung wasn't earnestly interested in the CEO by the way he was addressing him now. "I heard you had thrown up blood so I came to check on you right away," the CEO finally answered, shoving the bouquet forward into Taehyung's hands. Before Taehyung could reject them, they were in his lap. Taehyung's eyes narrowed as he glared up at the CEO, questions swirling inside his head but only one making its way out of Taehyung's mouth. "How did you find that out? I'm certain Jungkook didn't tell you because you would have been the last person on his mind," Taehyung surmised with conviction, staring hard at the CEO as he tossed the flowers in the trash can without a second thought.

Abigail glanced back and forth between the unfamiliar man and Taehyung, wondering why he was suddenly being so mean. Although, she would understand soon as the CEO glared at the flowers in the trash can next to Taehyung's bed. "What? I can't keep tabs on you?" He asked innocently, shrugging nonchalantly and advancing toward Taehyung as Taehyung's face twisted in disgust. "You have someone shadowing me and informing you of everything I'm doing?!" Taehyung asked incredulously, shoving the blankets off of his legs. Taehyung hastily stood to his feet, enduring the pain to back away from the CEO. Taehyung gripped his side and put one hand forward, backing himself against the wall as Jungkook made sure to put himself between the CEO and Taehyung. "Nobody wants you here! Leave," Taehyung cried out, hiding his face behind his hair as he gripped the back of Jungkook's shirt now. He pulled Jungkook closer towards him for support, dangling his arm around Jungkook's neck as the CEO hastily grasped Taehyung's wrist. Before Taehyung could wretch his wrist free from the CEO's grasp, he was yanked from behind Jungkook. Taehyung grit his teeth from the pain as he glared at the CEO through teary eyes. "Let go of me," Taehyung demanded through an unsteady voice full of emotion, yanking on his arm to free himself.

The CEO's face twisted with anger and jealousy when Jungkook grasped the CEO's wrist just as roughly. "Tell your lap dog to let go of me or I'll break your wrist," the CEO demanded as Taehyung yanked on his arm again, his expression full of rage towards the man in front of him. "You're mine and you always have been, Tae," the CEO offered menacingly as Taehyung's eyes narrowed even more. "Jungkook is not a lap dog as you so kindly put it," Taehyung grit out, annoyance evident in his shaky voice as he continued. "I don't want to see you anymore. I quit and began traveling to get away from you! You were always smothering me and treating me like I was some conquest! I only flirted with you and pretended I'd sleep with you to get you to pay for my travels," Taehyung spat vehemently, finally yanking his wrist free from the shocked CEO's grasp. Jungkook watched as the CEO's face twisted with torment and rage. "Is that any way to speak to your father?" The CEO shouted furiously, smacking Taehyung as hard as he could across the face.
