The dark sky floated over them as the thunder rumbled loudly, creating echoes that could be heard for miles. Wind slapped through the trees, bristling the leaves harshly that a lot of it fell off. Rose heard the painful cries of her subjects as more of them were sacrificed.

I am very sorry. But I have to do this, this is my dream. Forgive me. She thought and switched her attention back to the witch in front of her, all the while blocking the desperate pleas of her friends.

"...by the earth, I command you to give her a body of human, limbs in exchange of wings. Desired by human. By the wind, I command you to bring her voice, a melodious sound that will bring every men down on their knees. By the waters, let her be wise. For every decision that she make will decide the way her future unfolds, let the water grow her." The old woman chanted, hands opened wide toward the sky, her face tilted upward as her eyes closed, feeling every elements to mingled with her order.

The fire crackled and smoke emerged from the big pot. Rose took a step back when the leaves from the trees were blown by the invisible wind into the boiling water, as if they were sucked inside, black smoke creating some kind of gradient into the night sky. The screaming voices stopped once the wind ceased and she shed a tear. Her friends, her subjects, the very thing she should protect died, life surrendered for her to live once again. In a different form.

She have sinned, and oh Gaea, it was the worst of all.

The great witch came over to the pot, she followed peering into the liquid and was surprised by how purple it was. She thought it would be more of the greener side as...

"Sacrifice, holds the strongest power of all." The witch said, as if hearing her thought. "No matter if it is forced or not. But beware, for you have taken a lot for your wish, it will bring you the harshest consequences. There will be no turning back, do you still want to do this?" The old witch asked and Rose nodded meekly. She wanted it, she needed it.

"Very well, if that is your wish." The witch nodded and raised her hands again, but this time they hovered above the pot as she chanted, "Human, is what she desire and she will get; 20 days of living to find a true love and once the last petal fall her fate will be determined." She spoke and the smoke stopped rising. "So have I spoken; so shall it be."

The woman brought a big ladle and scooped up some of the liquid, and poured it into a gold chalice. She handed it to Rose who accepted it hesitantly. The purple liquid swirled inside the chalice and her stomach churned. The thought of swallowing her friends...

"Drink up, you don't have all night." The witch said and she choked back her sob, raising the glass onto her lip. She remembered the cold liquid seeping into her mouth, but when it went down her throat, she felt a burning sensation.

She found herself on the ground, writhing and kicking. She clawed on her throat, trying to get rid of the pain. She tried to scream, but she heard nothing but the crackling sound of the fire and her sights blurred as she saw a silhouette crouching beside her struggling form.

"Remember child, 20 days. You must find a true love in 20 days," The witch spoke in a great urgency, but when she said the last words, her voice were deep, as if she was sharing her most darkest secret. "...or you will perish."

Rose caught the sound of someone choking for air and barely registered that it was actually her. Her head spun and she felt like she was thrown from a high cliff into a deep pit, spiralling down in the endless darkness. She gasped and flailed her arms around her, trying to get a grasp of anything that could save her from the harsh fall, but there was nothing but the whoosh of winds. She turned her body around, at least if she was going to meet the ground she could brace herself for the impact, although she knew it was mostly futile.

There was no surviving the fall if she was going to meet the ground anyway, or so she thought. In the end of the hole was a light, it started as small as a seed, and it grew into a blinding light as she was nearing it. It was bright as the sun and she closed her eyes as she was engulfed by the light, swallowing her completely as she heard a voice said,

"Give me someone who will love me,
unconditionally."
