Smack Some Sense Into Him
(That's right! A Pov switch!)
Melody's Pov:
It has been a few days since Zak went to that gathering with his friends. Zak sadly hasn't heard word from any of his youtuber friends. He's only been talking with me. Why haven't all of his friends talked to him? I have no clue. It could be a coincidence, or the ones that were at the gathering already spread word of what had happened, or more like, what didn't happen. Zak is getting more and more worried about whether all of his friendships have been ruined. I have done my best to assure him that sooner or later, they'll get over that news, and if they're rational enough, they'll conclude that whatever happened is between him and Quackity, and should therefore stay out of it. Someone's bound to contact him again.
But in the meantime, I'm doing my best to make sure that Zak feels better. So, today, I made the excuse that I would buy the groceries, which I actually will do, but I will also buy ingredients to make chocolate chip cookies in order to surprise Zak. Hopefully, this makes him feel better and temporarily forget about the situation that he's in right now. I have returned to my car and just placed the groceries in the trunk. Once I close the trunk of the car, I see something from the corner of my eye.
I look around to see that Quackity is getting out of his car on the other side of the parking lane. He must have arrived to do some shopping himself. I don't think he has noticed me yet... I think for a moment about what this man has done towards my brother and how it ended up hurting him in so many ways. ...I think I should try to smack some sense into him. I stride over to Quackity, trying to make my pace seem calm, but I also can't be slow if I want to speak to him before he leaves the parking lot.
Thankfully, I get to come up to him before he even gets far from where he parked his car. For a moment, Quackity seems confused, but then a wave of realization hits him as his eyes widen slightly. He must have forgotten what I looked like for a moment. It was quick, but I am able to catch a slight moment where Quackity's eyes were filled with worry and fear before they looked normal. Quackity gives me a small smile, trying to look relaxed, and asks nonchalantly, "Oh, hello Melody! What's up? How have things been?"
...He has some nerve trying to act all nice and chill around me, acting as if nothing happened. Well, I can see right through him right now. I'm just going to cut right to the chase. I ask, "Why did you do it?"
Quackity stands there stunned for a moment before nervously saying, "W-what are you talking about?"
"Please don't act dumb. You know what I'm talking about. Why did you frame my brother?"
"Wha- I didn't frame him! Are you talking about the gathering? Well, Skeppy lied to you! He poured soda on me and hit me!"
"He didn't lie! The only liar around here is you!"
"Well- of course you'd believe him! You're his sister! It only makes sense that you'll believe whatever he says!"
This whole time, I've been speaking on a bit of a regular tone. But after hearing that, now I make my tone a bit offended and harsh. I say, "Oh- don't you dare use that card on me! Sure, I'm Zak's sister, and I love him, but love and trust are two completely different things. You learn to trust someone by getting to know them and learning their values and moralities. And I ended up learning to love and trust Zak for who I know he is. And I know for a fact that Zak wouldn't lie for something so serious!"
Quackity stares at me, blinking in surprise at my little outburst. After a moment, I take this as the opportunity to say, "And since you have known Zak for years, I thought that you knew him well enough to know that he wouldn't try anything to get you and Darryl to break up. But it seems that that isn't true, considering what you did due to your own insecurities."
That sparks a flame in Quackity. He exclaims, "You don't know sh*t! I bet you haven't seen the way that Skeppy looks at Bad! How close they are-!"
"Oh, don't worry. I know perfectly well. I saw enough from the gathering that I attended. As a matter of fact, Zak confessed to me that he liked Darryl before I even attended that gathering. But even so, you should know well enough that Zak is a good enough friend to not try and screw your love life over due to jealousy. That would've ruined your friendship and trust. But in the end, it seems like you didn't trust him enough."
Quackity looks at me stunned for a moment. But he soon exclaims, "Well- you never know! People do crazy sh*t over love!"
"Yeah, I can tell. I mean, have you looked at yourself and reflected on your actions?"
Quackity grits his teeth at that. I continue, "Are you even aware that you did something wrong? Do you have no guilt? Do you not realize that you ruined a perfectly good friendship and possibly a good relationship with your boyfriend?"
Quackity does a sinister chuckle at that. He says, "That doesn't matter. It doesn't matter if I lost a friend, as long as I have my boyfriend. Plus, what are you talking about 'ruined my relationship with my boyfriend'? Bad clearly believes me! Of course he would, I'm his boyfriend!"
I'm not too sure about that. Just as I said, I saw enough in the gathering that I attended, which includes just how much Darryl values Zak. And judging from the way he looked at Zak and interacted with him... I can make a good enough prediction that it will take much more than something silly like this for Darryl to actually believe that Zak is a bad guy. And from how Darryl was described from Zak at the moment that he was framed gives me more assurance that deep down, Darryl doesn't truly believe that Zak did what Quackity said he did. Not without a good reason at least. I say, "Whether you think Darryl believes you or not doesn't matter, because sooner or later, everything will come to light. And when that happens, you'll lose what you're trying so hard to protect. So I'm giving you the advice to stop going down whatever path you're through, turn around, take responsibility for your actions, and redeem yourself by doing the right thing, which is to apologize to my brother and tell everyone the truth by yourself."
Quackity gives a half-hearted laugh at that. He says, "No chance! I know that everything will go my way in the end. Skeppy deserves this anyway- He's just a selfish annoying b*tch who thinks he's all that but is actually no special compared to the rest."
That's it. The next moment happens so fast before I can even fully comprehend what I did. But even upon realizing, I don't regret it. I'm not one to let my emotions take control of me, but just this once, I'm glad I did. I slapped Quackity across the face. Quite deserved if you ask me. I leave Quackity looking to the side in shock. I say sternly, "I tried to warn you. But now, you'll end up seeing the consequences of your actions. Hopefully, by then, you come back to your senses."
And with that, I turn around and leave Quackity by himself, heading towards my car. Just as I reach my car and open the door to enter the driver seat, I guess Quackity just fully processed what happened and snapped out of his trance, because he yells out, "You f*cking b*tch-!"
I don't bother with looking back and wasting any more time on him. I just get into my car and drive back to Zak's house.
