Mitzi x Male!Reader
As you finished delivering paperwork to some other class, the bell rang.
Everyone left the classroom, and as such, you ran back to your classroom, grabbed all your belongings, and headed for your locker.
You opened the locker door and was just about finished going through it when you saw a girl with her head down as if she looked sad or something.
You didn't wonder what could be wrong with her until she went around the school, and, in an instant, she was gone.
You were about to go back inside the school when you heard the sound of crying. Going around the corner, you saw the girl in tears.
"What's the matter?" you asked her.
"I don't want to talk about it," she responded quietly.
You bended down and hugged her.
"I want to help you. Just tell me what's wrong."
She looked up at you while tears were still flowing down her face, and as such, you handed her a box of tissues.
"If I tell you this, you MUST promise you won't spread it to the others," she said sternly.
"I promise," you said, holding up your hand.
"So, the test results came out today, and I was shocked because I was in second place while Bloom was in first. I studied so hard, and yet, I only managed to get second. Bloom tried to talk to me, but I was so frustrated, I ran away from her."
As she continued, you thought to yourself and realized that the only way to cheer this girl up was to tell her your secret.
"Can I tell you a secret?"
"Yes, what is it?"
"I've been a genius my whole life. I used to be a first-place boy."
"Why aren't you in first place anymore?" she asked in shock. "I only have seen you in third!"
"When I used to be in first place, every year I felt nothing but anger and jealousy all around, with all these many students try to take advantage of me. After a while, I did my tests so intentionally poorly that I found myself in third place. It was a risky choice, but I escaped all the fury."
She immediately realized what you meant. She knew that being in first place wasn't worth it. But there was still an issue of her grades.
"Hey, could you help me with my studies?"
You looked at her while making a (rather difficult) choice.
"I kindly accept."
She hugged you tightly.
"Okay, where is your dorm room?"
She wrote it down on a piece of paper and proceeded to head off to her next class.
"Wait!" you shouted, causing her to stop. "What is your name?"
"My name is Mitzi."
Timeskip to some hours later, brought to you by a chibi Mitzi looking envious at a chibi Bloom
After a long day of what seemed like seemingly endless classes, you headed off to Mitzi's dorm.
You didn't forget the conversation you had earlier. After all, you still had the paper that gave explicit directions as to where her dorm was located.
You waited eagerly as you knocked on the door.
Mitzi: "Who is it?"
"It's me."
She opened the door, and after you sat on the couch she handed you a cup of tea.
You looked around the room and noticed that she has a great taste in design.
"I never though she could be a genius like me," you thought to yourself.
As Mitzi sat down, you took some sips of the tea and remained silent for a moment.
"You make good tea."
Mitzi giggled.
Mitzi: "Thank you, I'd never gotten a nice compliment from anyone before."
As you continued sipping the tea, you looked out the window and saw all the stars out in the sky.
Mitzi: "I'll be right back with the books."
She put down the cup of tea and headed to her room. After a while of waiting, you put your hands together and looked up at the sky.
"I don't ask for much, but please let Mitzi pass the next exam."
Mitzi soon returned with the books. After she sat them down on the table, she accidentally dropped one. You helped her pick it up, but touched her hand, causing the both of you to blush before she set the remaining book on the table.
She opened the book and attempted to understand the parts she is not familiar with.
"Don't worry, I can teach you all about the parts you don't get, so just leave the teaching to me."
Mitzi: "Okay, if you say so..."
You buckled down and began to teach her a number of seemingly impossible questions she wasn't familiar with. It took three hours, but after a while, she began to understand them clearly.
By the end of the day, you were about to pass out.
"Mitzi, you needn't worry anymore. The next exam is in three weeks, so I'll be back tomorrow night to teach you the other hard parts."
Mitzi: "Okay, Y/N, and thank you for helping me understand the hardest parts."
"You're wel--"
You fell asleep in an instant. Mitzi, realizing she couldn't sleep with you loudly snoring, carried you back to your room.
After returning to her room, she noticed another book on the desk. Upon opening it, there was a small piece of paper on the first page. Unfolding it, she saw your phone number printed on it, along with a message reading:
"Here's my phone number just in case you ever want to talk to me beyond this point. --Y/N"
She held the paper close to her heart and felt it beating ever so quickly.
Mitzi: "What is this feeling?"
Three weeks later, Mitzi was ready to take on the exam. You were nervous because you spent a good amount of time trying to get her to remember all the questions to a point.
You were resting you hand on her shoulder while sweating profusely.
Mitzi: "Y/N."
"Huh?"
Mitzi: "You seem nervous."
"It's just that we've studied for three straight weeks and--"
Mitzi: "I still remember every answer."
"Are you s--"
Mitzi: "Y/N, stop worrying."
The bell rang, signaling the start of testing.
Mitzi: "Wish me luck."
You stood in the hallway as multiple other students pass you by.
"God help her," you said to yourself. "If she doesn't pass, I'll never hear the end of it."
After five hours, testing hours ended, and everyone left their classrooms. You, on the other hand, nervously exited the room, worried more about Mitzi as opposed to yourself.
She yelped in shock upon seeing you standing behind her.
Mitzi: "Y/N!"
"There you are!"
Mitzi: "What is it?!"
"They've posted the test scores! Come on!"
You and her ran to the hallway and saw many students in a group whispering. Pushing your way through the crowd, you saw that Mitzi was in first place for highest scores, and you were in second.
Mitzi stood in surprise and looked at you all puzzled.
Mitzi: "Why did you let me be first?"
"I'll give you the answer tonight," you said as you left, leaving her speechless.
Later that night, Mitzi was sitting on the couch at her dorm until she heard a knock on the door. Opening it, she saw you outside and let you in; you sat down opposite from her and remained silent for a moment.
Mitzi: "Why did you let me be first?"
You chuckled.
"I couldn't let you be behind me, so I slowed down a little. Besides, I did that for you."
Mitzi blushed deeply and couldn't handle your presence in the room any longer. She kissed you on the lips.
"M-Mitzi?!" you stuttered, blushing.
Mitzi: "I couldn't control myself any longer! Y/N, I love you."
You instantly became shocked.
"When did you start liking me?!"
Mitzi: "When we had that little talk the other day and you helped me with my studies."
You sat on the couch in awe.
Mitzi: "Could you be my boyfriend?"
You thought to yourself for a moment to realize what she meant. You never had a girlfriend before and you were always lonely. You figured that, if you accepted her feelings, then maybe you'd have someone in your life.
"Mitzi, my whole life I've been waiting for someone to ask me that question."
You kneeled on the floor.
"I accept your offer."
Mitzi hugged you tightly.
Author's Note:
This story was originally written as a separate 2-part story, but I decided to combine both parts in the end so Mitzi would still fit in the "oneshot" category that this book strives to be. Aside from that, it's another story featuring a side character, so I decided to give her some love.
