Chapter 1
Flora POV
"That's awful," I frown.
"Indeed, that is why I need you girls to return to Alfea. I don't know what's going on, but we need the Winx," Miss Faragonda clasps her hands together.
We had moved to Gardenia for a break from all of the drama back in the Magic Dimension. Not permanently, though.
It was a nice break while it lasted.
The girls and I look at each other, before giving the Headmistress a solemn nod.
"We can do it," Bloom assures her, and the rest of us agree.
"Of course, thank you girls," the computer screen flashes black and we only see our own reflections.
"Missing fairies at Alfea, huh?" Musa sits back onto a chair behind us.
"There's no way it could be a coincidence, that's for sure," Aisha shakes her head.
"So when do we pack?"
"Stella!"
"What? I need to know in advance, you know," Stella fixes her hair in the black computer screen.
"We could go tomorrow," Tecna suggests. The rest of us nod in agreement.
"Do you think the guys will be coming with us?" Stella asks, not even trying to hide her excitement.
I shrug, "maybe."
"Well, what are we waiting for? Let's go to Alfea!" Aisha motions us to get off of our chairs and we follow her.
When we arrive at Alfea, we are crowded by lots of curious fairies, asking questions all at the one time. Not only were we extremely popular fairies, so this happened often, but it was the new school year, so most of the crowd was new fairies who had probably never met or seen us before.
On top of that, fairies were going missing, and when something suspicious is going on in the Magic Dimension everyone turns to the Winx for help. It was no surprise all the attention we were getting today.
"Alright ladies, that's enough! Step away from the Winx!" The loud, familiar voice of Miss Griselda rang throughout the crowd.
Many of the girls complained and sighed, but the teacher simply clapped her hands, "those who are not new fairies, head to class immediately. The rest of you head the hall for an assembly."
Once again came the complaints, but they died down once most of the fairies had disappeared inside the school.
"About time you girls show up. The Headmistress is waiting for you in her office, follow me," Miss Griselda motions us to follow her.
We walk silently through the halls as many classes were in session and we wouldn't want to disturb them. Eventually, we reach the familiar Headmistress' office.
"Winx, welcome," Miss Faragonda smiles, greeting us, "it's lovely to see you all."
"We're glad to help," I smile politely.
"As you know, many fairies have disappeared from the Alfea campus and I believe it's not by chance, as I know many of you do also," she continues, "I have listed the names, ages and any other important personal information about each of them. I have also included their pictures."
She hands us out sheets with the information printed on them, "I put them on paper so you can take them anywhere with you."
"I'll scan them just in case anything happens and we lose them," Tecna uses her phone to scan the sheets of paper, good idea, I thought.
"We will give you all the help we possibly can, but I know you girls can do it," Miss Faragonda smiles and Griselda simply nods.
"Okay, well, we'll take these and have a read over," Bloom tells the two teachers.
"Okay, goodbye for now," the Headmistress dismisses us and we exit her office.
"I don't know about you girls but I have no clue where to start," Aisha sighs.
"We've never done a missing person case this huge before. For all we know it could be one of our enemies. A dangerous enemy," Musa adds.
"Musa's right, this could be an attack on us. The culprit could be attempting to trap us by kidnapping students here," I suggest.
"Well-" Bloom flicks through the sheets, "we know that all kidnappings, as I'm going to call them, were made near Alfea, but not all on the campus. Some were in the forest and other places. There are two or three fairies that disappeared on campus though, so I suggest we start there."
"Good idea, we should visit the scene of the crime," Stella grins excitedly.
Since it is the closest "crime scene" to us, we visit the Alfea campus first.
"Hey, remember Miss Faragonda said she put up a magical barrier when girls started going missing, to protect the others so that unknown people couldn't enter?" Aisha asks and we nod, "well, one disappearance on campus happened after that barrier was put up. If it is someone we don't know the barrier will be broken."
"But what if it's not l? Does that mean it could be someone here?" Stella gasps.
"I suppose it's a possibility, but it could just mean it's a huge coincidence that these fairies are going missing. They might have reasons that maybe no one knows," Musa shrugs, "but let's check before jumping to conclusions."
We check, and sure enough, the barrier is broken, so it's definitely someone we don't know, not a fairy, teacher or anyone close to us. Likely one of our enemies.
"Well, if I can just-" Tecna moves her phone around, somehow scanning the area, "every magical being leaves magic traces behind wherever they go. If I can find traces other than our missing person's we may be able to find our kidnapper."
"How does that work? It just tells you where it is?" Stella scratches her head.
"I'll show you," the Technology Fairy stops and crouches down next to the fountain, "something is detected here, it's unrecognisable which means it doesn't belong to us or anyone who goes to school here. Basically, someone who shouldn't be here."
"There's our kidnapper," Aisha smirks, "wow, Tecna, that was amazing!"
"Don't thank me yet," she doesn't take her eyes off of her phone, "it may take me a day or two to figure this out. If I'm successful, we may be able to track the path this person took."
I nod, "we'll help however we can."
