Kinkajou's POV:

Moon was back. Moon was alive. OMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMG MY BEST FRIEND IS HERE AND ALIVE AND OKAY AND HAPPY AND READING SCROLLS WHICH IS SLIGHTLY BORING BUT IM TO HAPPY TO CARE BECAUSE MOON IS BACK AND EVERYTHING IS GOOD NOW EXCEPT JADE MOUNTAIN ACADEMY BURNED DOWN AND THAT IS BAD AND I WONDER WHO DID IT AND WHY IS MOON HANGING AROUND WINTER SO MUCH DOESN'T SHE KNOW QUIBLI LIKES HER AND I AM SO HAPPY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

"Jeez, Kinkajou, calm down, you're giving me a headache!" Moon joked. We had brought Quibli to the tent we were using as an infirmary and we were now inside a makeshift tent that we were using as a den.

I forgot she can read minds.

"Wait. Quibli likes me?!!!" Moon said, in shock.

"Maybeeee......" I said sheepishly hanging my head low. I don't think I was supposed to tell her that.

"But, but,..... I'm in love with Winter!" Moon said.

What? But, I had a crush on Winter. He was my tall, handsome, ice prince. And my best friend likes him?! No. This isn't happening. 

"I need to go for a walk." I said. Moon looked at me worriedly. 

"I don't think thats-"

I flew off before she could finish. I needed to be alone right now. Just me and my thoughts.

Mango's POV: 

I was flying over the camp thinking about Kinkajou. Her beautiful color-changing scales, her happy personality, her amazing smile.

Ahhhh. But she liked Winter. I would never have a chance.

I decided to go visit my favorite tree. It was a shady place, next to a crystal stream, and the tree was full of ripe, juicy apples. But when I arrived, I found someone was already there. Kinkajou sat at the water's edge, tears dripping down her face. Oh no. Whoever made this happen would pay. I subconsciously growled, digging my claws into the grass. 

Kinkajou's head whipped around, about to spit poison. When she saw me, she relaxed. 

"Oh, it's just you Mango. I thought you were a Skywing assassin or something." She said laughing emptily. Her eyes were tinted red around the edges.

"Why were you crying?" I asked, looking into her eyes. She gazed back at me, her eyes filled with compassion, and trust, and maybe even.... was that love? I don't know what came over me. One second I'm gazing into Kinkajou's eyes, the next I'm kissing her. And best of all, she kissed back!

We finally broke apart, out of breath. 

"The reason I was crying, was because I found out Moon loves Winter." Kinkajou said, smiling at me.

My smile fell. Of course. That kiss was just spur of the moment. Of course she still liked Winter. 'A spur of the moment that lasted 13 minutes' the voice in my head taunted. 

Kinkajou continued, unaware of my immense despair. "I was crying because I had had a crush on Winter too."

Wait. Had?

"Now I don't have a crush on anyone." Kinkajou said.

I sighed.

"But a boyfriend would be nice." She said, looking at me, her scales a rosy pink.

(I know it was short. But it's 12:19 in the morning, still dark outside. Cut me some slack people! At least I updated. Sorry for the delays. But I will be at my mother's house until Wednesday, and then my dad is marrying his fiancee, and I am a junior bridesmaid. I don't think anyone would be very happy if I was updating Wattpad during the wedding XD)
