~ Day 7: Ornaments ~
AU: Doubled Crystal
Context: Sabre and Crystal (aka Orange)'s first Christmas since they were created. Technically being at least part Orange Steve, they're joining in on making ornaments for the village's community Christmas tree with the other village children.
Wooo, this one is a bit longer! Enjoy :3

[Orange Leader's POV]
Everyone is excitedly bustling through the village, getting everything ready for the upcoming holiday. Snow covers everything as far as the eye can see, and everybody is bundled up in cozy coats, scarves, and hats to keep out the cold.
I'm no exception, as I adjust my own scarf and walk towards the center of the village, where most of the children have gathered. They've all been making ornaments for the community tree since this morning, and I need to get Crystal and Sabre back to the house since it's their first winter and probably aren't well-adjusted to the change in weather yet. That, and they need to visit Red again...
It's impossible to miss those two in the crowd of little ones, likely because of for one thing, Sabre sticks out like a cat in an ocelot den, and another being the fact that they and Shy have moved away from the group and are sitting near the tree itself rather than near the boxes of craft supplies. The three of them look up at me as I stop next to them.
"Hi Leader!" Sabre and Crystal both smile. They've still not let go of each other since that day in the cave... strange.
"G-Good afternoon, L-Leader." Shy greets me, starting to shrink into the oversized scarf he has.
"Hello you three." I smile back at them. "How are your ornaments coming along?"
"Really good! I made mine green with bits of red!" Sabre says excitedly, holding up his ornament. The bulb is almost entirely a forest green, while there's some red dots circling it and a band of red around the top.
"I made mine all colorful!" Crystal adds, holding up his ornament as well while he's covered in numerous colors of paint. The bulb's pattern is made up of splotches of every color, going around the entire bulb.
"I-I made mine white l-like the s-snow..." Shy says quietly, and gingerly holds up his ornament. His is mostly white, with some gold line accents on the top and bottom of it.
"They look wonderful. Why don't you go put them up on the tree?" I say. "I need to take Orange and Sabre back to the house now, so might as well."
"Okay!" The three children say, and rush to get up an find places for their ornaments on the tree.
Soon enough, Crystal and Sabre are waving goodbye to Shy as they walk up to me. I smile, and they start following me back to my house.
"Oh, we made ornaments for our friend too!" Sabre says, and he and Crystal each hold up a red ornament with orange stars painted on them.
"Yeah, we didn't want him to be left out." Crystal says. "I hope we can give them to him soon."
"Well lucky for you, we actually need to visit him today. We do this weekly, remember?" I say as we approach my house, and stop in front of it.
"Oh, cool! Sucks that that's why we have to visit though..." Sabre says, sighing.
"I know, but it's for both of your own good." I say.
"Isn't that kind of stuff why people have to call me a different name?" Crystal asks.
"Yes, but don't talk about that right now." I say. "Remember, it's our little secret."
"Okay, Leader." Sabre and Crystal both answer.
Then, we all teleport, going to the same house we always do every week.

"It was very nice of them to do that for me." Red smiles as he places the two handmade ornaments on his own little tree.
"Yeah, they're very sweet kids." I reply, glancing down at the two now-sleeping children leaning against me as we sit on the couch.
Red turns back to me and sees Crystal and Sabre. He then walks over to his own chair, and sits down.
"Good, looks like their dose for this week is already working. Shame about that side effect, though..." Red says. "I need to work on fixing that."
"Yes, it is a shame, but it's all we have to help them for now." I sigh. "Until they're older and can handle their powers better, we have no other choice but to suppress them so they or anyone else doesn't get hurt. They're so powerful, despite just being kids..."
"Yes, but then again they aren't exactly normal." Red replies. "It's still so strange how the Orange Crystal was able to just... create new beings all on its own. And you're sure there was nothing to cause it?"
"Yes, I've been checking that cave for months and still nothing. It's still the same as it has been." I answer. "And you haven't been able to find anything either, I presume?"
"Not really, no." Red says. "For now though, instead of focusing on that, it's good that you've instead been focusing on giving them as normal lives as possible."
"Of course, they're still my people after all." I say.
I look down at the two children, who are still fast asleep. I smile, seeing how calm they are and that they've been so happy on the village.
"And it doesn't matter that they came from... less conventional ways of creation."
