Pain
Sam's POV
This is the worst possible situation I could ever be in. My boyfriend, the love of my life, is bleeding profusely from a bullet wound that went in his stomach and out his back. I press my hands on the wound to try and stop the bleeding. I know I should remain calm, but I just can't; I'm panicking and sobbing hysterically.
"I-it's going to be okay, Bucky, help is coming. J-just...just stay with me, please." I cried.
Bucky looks up at me with a worried look. He's not worried about himself, he's worried about me freaking out. He's bleeding out on the pavement and all he can worry about is me. Bucky's eyes began to close...oh no!
"Bucky! No, stay awake!" I shout.
"Sam, I'm....so...tired." Bucky replied weakly.
"Please, Buck, you have to stay awake!" I told him.
To keep Bucky awake, I talk to him about things. I'm using all my will power not to break down while I tell Bucky about my childhood, high school, and my time in the military. What I'm doing is working, Bucky stays awake as he listens closely to my voice. After a few minutes, Bucky complains about his head hurting. This is only because he's using my thighs as a pillow.
"I told you it would be uncomfortable to lay like this." I said.
"Well...it's not so...b-bad. At l-least...I get...a good v-view...of...of your face." Bucky said smiling.
"God, you're so cheesy." I said shaking my head.
I lay my forehead against his and hold him in my arms.
"Keep your eyes open and look at me, okay." I said.
"I like...the sound...of that." replied Bucky.
Suddenly, he starts coughing horribly...and he's coughing up blood! Oh God, please no! Where the h*ll is that godd*mn ambulance?! I can tell that he's in so much pain. I wish I can just take it all away. I let him hold my hand tightly. The hand that I happen to be holding is his metal one. As his pain grows, Bucky squeezes my hand tighter and tighter. He no longer has strength to speak, but I know he's trying to ask if he's hurting me.
"No, Bucky, I'm fine." I tell him.
I lied, his metal hand is crushing mine. I'm pretty sure one of my fingers broke. Despite it all, I let him hold my hand as tight as he wants. Just then, I heard the sirens of the ambulance.
"Hear that, Buck, help is here. You're going to be okay. Just hold on a little bit longer." I said crying in relief.
The paramedics load Bucky into the ambulance and take him to the hospital.
