A/N: Sorry, this is gonna be sad. Get your tissues ready.

For their anniversary, Sam and Bucky decided to go on a weekend camping trip. They went camping in the mountains. The two were having a lot of fun. On the morning of their anniversary, they stay cuddled up in their shared sleeping bag for a while.

"Happy anniversary, Sammy." Bucky said kissing Sam's cheek.

"Happy anniversary, babe." replied Sam smiling.

Sam rolls over on top of Bucky and begins kissing him passionately. Bucky wraps his arms around Sam's waist, pressing their bodies as close as possible. They kiss each other's lips, necks, and chest all morning. When they were done, they got dressed then had breakfast.

"Wanna go on a hike?" Bucky asked.

"Are you sure, I heard there were bears in those areas." Sam said.

"Nahh, it's cold out, bears don't come out in cold weather." Bucky replied.

"Well...okay." Sam agreed.

The couple hike up the trail holding hands. After a while they come upon a baby bear.

"Awww, it's so cute and fluffy!" cooed Bucky.

He takes out his phone and goes to the camera.

"Bucky, I don't think that's a good idea." Sam said.

"It's fine, don't worry so much." Bucky said stepping a little closer to the baby bear.

What he didn't know was that the camera was on flash. When he took the picture of the baby bear, the flash scared it, making it cry out.

"Bucky, I think we need to head back." said Sam.

"Yeah...that sounds like a good idea." agreed Bucky.

Turning around, the two came face to face with a very large brown bear. The bear was obviously the baby's mother and she was pissed. She stands on her hind legs, towering over Sam and Bucky; then she attacks them.

"Bucky! Look out!" Sam shouted pushing his boyfriend out of the way.

Sam is hit by the bear's large paw, knocking him a few feet away.

"Sam!!" gasped Bucky.

The bear then tries to attack Bucky, but before she could, he punches her square in the chest with his metal fist, knocking her off her feet. Now scared of him, the bear runs away with her baby following her.

"And don't come back!" Bucky yelled.

Then he rushes over to his injured boyfriend. As he got to him, Bucky saw a small pool of blood next to Sam. Worried, he turns him onto his back and gasped when he saw the severity of Sam's injuries. There was three large, deep gashes across Sam's entire chest.

"O-oh my god, no!" Bucky said taking Sam into his arms.

"S-Sammy...come on, say something." he pleaded.

Sam stares back at him with half-lidded eyes, struggling to breathe properly.

"B-Bucky..." Sam coughed out.

"Sam...I-I'm so sorry...this is all my fault...I never should've convinced you to go on this hike. I-I should've listened to you." Bucky cried.

"Bucky...i-it...it h-hurts..." whimpered Sam.

"I know, Sammy. Don't worry, I'm gonna call for help....d*mnit, there's no reception....maybe I could yell for help...no, that would attract another animal...godd*mnit, I don't know what to do, I don't know what to do!" Bucky rambled.

What broke Bucky's heart even more was that Sam began to weakly whimper and cry out in pain. The love of his life was suffering unimaginable pain, and there was nothing he could do about it. All he could think of was to hold him closer to his chest while rocking back and forth.

"Please, Sammy, stay with me...d-don't go  anywhere...hold on...p-please." Bucky cried, his tears dripping down onto Sam's face.

"Promise me you'll stay." he begged.

"I-I can't...*cough*...i-it hurts...t-too m-much." Sam cried, his voice barely above a whisper.

Sam sighs heavily then goes limp in Bucky's arms.

"S-sam?....Sam?!....SAMMY!!!!!" Bucky sobbed, realizing the man he loved was dead.

For hours Bucky sat there holding a blood covered Sam Wilson in his arms, crying his eyes out, while muttering and shouting things incoherently.
