s y n o p s i s 

When Youth Laenyei wakes up in the body of an animal, her family's secrets begin to unravel. Youth isn't human. She's part of an ancient race of Shifters who inherit great power and abilities on their 17th dawn.

But there's a lot of baggage that comes along with being a Shifter. Specifically, Amaris Ore, Youth's ever quiet and intriguing Protector. Amaris is meant to teach Youth control, but his guidance just seems to muddle things more. 

Even worse, there's a century-long War between the Shifters and a race called the Archers, who can kill with just a touch. The end of the War is within sight... but it's prophesied to end in genocide. Both sides believe Youth is the key to survival; the Shifters want to use her, but the Archers just want her dead.

Yet, Youth is determined to see that her fate remains her own. But with the arrival of strange dreams set in the world she came from but never knew, Youth begins to realize the only way to save herself is to sacrifice everything. 

u p d a t e s 

i plan to write this story over the span of several months. i am a full time college student with other obligations to attend to, but i'm really excited to get back to writing again. i'm also taking a creative writing class this semester, which makes finding time to write a bit easier. 

i plan to make chapters a bit longer than normal (compared to Before I Melt and 101WTSAL). 

updates should come at least once a week. i'll try to stick to this schedule. thank you all so very much for your patience in advance, and i'll try to keep you guys updated on what i'm writing and where i am with a new chapter.
