CHAPTER 38

"Kaia breathes," said Nat rushing over to me. "Kaia, look at me," she said, turning me around. "You need to breathe," she kept looking at me and kept turning my head towards her. "I- I need to go," I said, rushing down the stairs.

"Kaia wait," Thor said from behind, they didn't say anything while they were coming back, they waited until they arrived. My blood was boiling from anger. My tears only became bigger and I screamed to try and let go of the anger.

"Kaia..?" Loki asked, running my way. "What's wrong?" he said, placing his hand on my shoulder. "Loki, they took Bucky," I said crying. Loki just stood there frozen without anything to say. "I need to go," I said, letting go of him and getting in the elevator. He turned around slowly while I sat in the elevator.

He ran to the elevator, but the doors were closing. Why is it always me, always the one that has to deal with this. I took out my phone and texted Darcy. "Darcy I'm coming over, I need to talk with you- I can't stay in here," I said crying while recording the voice message.

"Of course, come, I'm still with Fury though, he said you could come," she replied back in an audio. "Thanks," I texted her back.

I need to get him back, no matter what, I can't do this alone, I need him to be here.

I rushed out of the elevator to find the press everywhere outside of the tower. "Shit," I said, going back. I ran to the parking on the last floor where some motorcycles and cars were kept. Bucky teached me how to ride a motorcycle in the first few weeks that I was here.

To my surprise Bucky's motorcycle was there, "This will do," I said trying to let go of the tears. I took the keys to the key room that they kept in and took the motorcycle.

I ran as fast as I could with the motorcycle, taking every curve, I just had to go and talk with Darcy, plus if Fury is there he will know about what happened. I can't let my emotions control me, I have to find Bucky first.

I arrived at Shield's building and ran in. I ran and ran until I arrived at the office of Fury. I came in and there was Selene, Darcy, Maria and Fury. They were talking about something that had to be related to Bucky. "Kaia-" Darcy said when she realised I was in.

"What the heck happened Fury," I said trying not to cry, my voice coming shaky. "Hydra's people took him again," Fury said looking down. I felt my stomach perform somersault. "How did it happen?" I said, trying to burst out of tears.

Fury took a long deep breath and said, "They have him, they still didn't take control over him, but if we wait longer, he will get brainwashed," Fury said. The idea of Bucky getting brainwashed and forgetting everything made me so weak.

"Let's go then," I said. "Y-you want to go now?!" Selene asked in shock. "Yes, we need to," I said looking at her. "Alright, Selene and Kaia, go, I'll call the jet, I'm also calling Rogers and Romanoff to go with you guys," Fury said typing on his phone.

"Thanks Fury," I said, smiling at him. I gently took Selene's arm and she led me where to go.

"Hey Kaia,'' Said Nat sitting next to me in the jet. "Hey Nat." She knew I wasn't ok, but she was holding me tight, and that's what I needed.

"Kaia, I'm sorry- '' Steve said, looking down before I stopped him. "It's not your fault," I said, trying to hold back the tears. He came towards me and gave me a hug. "Congrats, by the way," he said smiling. "Thanks" I said.

"You know, he said something to me before we got separated, he said that he was finally happy after decades of desperation, thanks to you Kaia," Steve said looking at me. I really tried not to cry but I had tears in my eyes.

I stood up and went to Selene, she was in the other room, with all the files. "Hey," I said, closing the door. "Oh hey Kaia!" she said, surprised. "How's the planning going?" I asked, looking over at the computer. "It's going well for now," she said smiling.

"So I have a question," I said to her, she nervously turned around and said "Yeah?". "So are you dating Loki?" I said smiling. Her face went red and she looked very nervous. "I think-" said Selene looking down.

"You think?" I was confused. "Well, I like him, and I think he likes me too, but I don't know," she said nervously. "Ah, well I wish you guys the best," I said smiling. I left the room already knowing what Loki was doing.

BUCKY'S POV:

I don't know how much time I have left, I don't know where I am, but I have a feeling that I know what's going to happen. Please Kaia, don't go looking for me, it's dangerous and I need you to be safe

KAIA'S POV:

8 HOURS LATER

It had been 8 enormous hours of waiting to get to their last base, the one that was supposed to be the last one. "Let's go," said Nat, grabbing my hand. "Let's go over the plan one more time," Steve said.

The plan was simple, Steve with me and Nat with Selene. We were not going to plan anything big, we were just going to attack, not going back, we were going to get Bucky.

Steve and I heard the back way and Nat and Selene went from the entrance. I knocked the door down with my leg and quietly headed forward, there were soldiers almost everywhere, "You guys came like this?!" I whispered to Steve. "Last time, there were only a few people," said Steve.

I looked around to see what seemed like scientists coming out of a room. "I'm pretty sure it's that one," I said pointing to a metal door that had a sign that said "No entering."

"You know we have to go in front of them right?" Steve said. "Yes, that's why we are going to fight them," I said. "Kaia- you're pregnant" Steve said in annoyance. "I wont get hurt," I said laughing quietly. It was done we were finally here.

"Which side are you taking?" he asked me. "The left one," I said leaving from where we were hiding. We walked into where the soldiers were, but only one of them noticed us. "You guys can be here," he said looking angry.

"Oh can we?" I said smiling. I drove my knee to his nose, his hair recoiled from the impact and fell to the ground. I smirked while observing my work. They started advancing toward Steve and me. I quickly reacted by dragging poison ivy from the ground and slicing them. They dropped like flies and I kept my distance from them. I wrapped my poison ivy around their feet and lifted from the ground and smashed them back in the ground. Steve was also trying his best, blocking projectiles.

"This is what happens when you mess with the wrong people," I said looking at all of them on the ground. I looked back at Steve's and he already had a bruise. "You are the one that has to be careful," I said laughing.

"Hey Nat, I think we found him, wait outside of this exit door," I said to the earpiece. Steve nodded and we headed to the metal door. Before opening it I took a deep breath. I opened it to see a hospital bed in the middle, with on one in it.

It looked like someone was in here but they were nowhere to be seen. "What the heck?" I said looking over to the computer that was behind a desk. It was Bucky's information. "Steve, he's been here," I said looking around, there was a smaller room in the room. It was dark and with no door.

"Stay here," I told Steve while heading into that room. My nervous footsteps reverberated in the hall as I moved forward. My body was high alert, ready for any sort of surprise. I heard a floorboard creak and I turned as quickly as I can, but an iron arm around my throat. I was lifted onto the ground and choked. I couldn't breathe. It was someone from the room. Steve ran up to me and the person that was holding me came out of the light.

It was Bucky. He had no happiness in his eyes, no shine, no anything. He looked scared but angry. "B-bucky," I said, choking. "Let me go," I said, kicking his upper body. I could see my vision fading. Steve quickly went behind him and tried to help me.

He let go of me, and I collapsed onto the floor. Breathing heavily, without moving.
