CHAPTER 13

I left the tower before anyone saw me, I passed through Pepper's office and painfully smiled at her. She looked at me with a bright smile until she changed it into a concerned look. I quickly left before she got up and headed down to the tower's entrance. Surprisingly this would be my second time going out of the tower, but this time alone and it's been almost a month.

I put on my hoodie to cover my face and walked out. It was crowded with people while I tried to get away from them. After 15 minutes I managed to get away from people and I walked away. I headed off to who knows where, the streets I was walking on were very creepy and dark. I decided not to think about it.

I took out my phone to call Nat, I nervously dialed her numbers and she quickly answered back. "This better be important," she sharply said. "Well- I got into a fight with Bucky and I left the tower--" I started. She yelled, "You did what?!" I heard her sigh, "Kaia you can't get out, there are people looking for you," Nat said. "I know but--" I got cut off again as I heard Steve in the back saying to Nat to hand him the phone.

"Where are you, Kaia?" Steve asked, sounding concerned. I replied, "I'm not pretty sure, but I know that this would be the last place I should be in right now." I looked around. Steve yelled, "What on earth went through your mind!"

"Oh, I'm sorry your best friend overreacted!" I said screaming through the phone. "You told him?!" he asked. "Well yes, it was my decision!" I said. "Gosh Kaia, how could you be so clueless?" Steve said angrily through the phone. "When Pietro kidnapped you, he went crazy trying to find you everywhere. He threatened that he would cut Pietro's hands off if he laid a hand on you." He sighed again. "He cares so much for you Kaia."

"He's never been this happy and you are the reason, he can't have you leave him," Steve sighed. "I- I didn't know that," I said looking back when I saw a black shadow following me. "Shit Steve, there's someone following me, '' I said nervously, quickly walking away from the person. "Nat tracked you down, we are coming now," Steve said while I heard them running. I felt a strange feeling within me. It felt like the time I got my fire element.

"No, no. This can't be happening right now," I said quietly to myself. When I used my fire powers for the first time, I was fine for the first 20 minutes, but I would feel exhausted afterward. I wouldn't be able to handle fighting this person right now. I felt my hands shake and I started to feel a huge pressure on my hands.

I collapsed onto the floor of the street and the person ran up to me taking the same serum that Pietro injected me with. "Please no no!" I screamed whole tears rolled down my eyes. I put my hands in front of my face when I felt a powerful movement on my hands.

I slowly opened my eyes to see vines sprawling out of the ground and locking the guy to the dirt. I quickly stood up and kept putting pressure on the plants.

While I was putting pressure I heard Nat and Steve behind me. The person that followed me quickly passed out and I let go of the plants. When I let go I collapsed on the floor while my head hurt. "Kaia!" Nat said while coming to hold me. Steve ran to the guy to make sure he wasn't dead. Nat helped me to get up to get to their car. Steve put the guy in the trunk and we headed off to the tower. "New power?" Steve asked. "I guess-" I said while I put my hands on my face from the sharp pain that I was getting.

"We will get there soon Kaia, don't worry," Nat said, giving me her hand to hold. While we went to the tower Nat made some calls to the team so that they investigated the person that followed me.

When I got out of the car I walked away but there were the paramedics that tried to stop me so that they could see if I was fine. I told them that I was fine with a painful face and walked away while Steve and Nat were behind me.

"Woah, Woah where do you think you're going brat?" Tony said trying to stop me. "Leave me alone. Please," I said walking away from him into my room. I headed to my room and stayed on my bed. I changed my clothes into my pajamas and went inside my bed. I started crying from all of the overwhelming thoughts and things that have happened to me in less than 48 hours.

I looked around to see the picture of Bucky and me hanging on the wall and it made me smile, but I wondered where he was. I quickly fell asleep even if it was 12 in the morning.

I woke up to hearing someone knocking on the door. "Come in," I said looking at the time. It was already 4 in the afternoon. Jane came into my room with a concerned look on her face. "Are you ok? I heard that you weren't feeling well," Jane said sitting down on my bed. "Yeah, I'm fine," I said, looking the other way. Jane took a deep breath and said "Listen, Kaia, I don't know why you don't like me, but I want to be your friend, I want to be there for you" Jane said, putting her arm around me.

"It's not that I hate you, it's- I thought Thor would leave us to be with you," I said crying. "He would never leave you guys," Jane said with a smile. "He would never," Jane said, giving me a hug. Jane made me feel loved and saved even though I never really liked her.

"By the way, I heard what happened with you, and well then with your brothers," Jane said, taking a deep breath. I looked at her while she said "First of all, I'm sorry for what happened to you," Jane said with a smile on her face. "Second of all, your brothers were so worried for you but they couldn't come because of your father, they almost fought him," Jane said laughing.

I was guessing Thor told her everything. "They were stressed and mad about basically everything, that's why they replied to you the way they did," Jane said trying to make me feel better. "Thanks," I said, giving her a hug. Jane nodded and left my room. It was pretty awkward after she left, I mean I was alone but I didn't want to be.

I secretly went down to the lab where I knew Rogers and Nat were. I quickly went down the stairs and looked around to see if anybody saw me. After I got to the lab I quietly opened the lab door to see Nat and Steve surrounding the guy that followed me.

They looked angry and when the guy saw me through the window he looked at me shocked, which made Steve and Nat turn around. I entered the room angrily. My mood completely changed coming down the stairs. As I stood between Nat and Steve I said," Who send you?". "N- no one! No one really!" The guy said shaking.

"Don't lie to me," I said with a smirk on my face. "I know what you were going to inject in me," I said angrily. Nat pulled me back while I took a deep breath. "Who send you!?" I said losing my patience. I ran my hands through my hair in stress when Tony came into the toom and said, "I got it."
