Chapter 9
My stomach was turning and my palms were sweating.
I knew I was going to have to control my anxiety and it didn't help that we were going into a warmer region.
I usually always stay in winter and when I don't I just pass threw briefly.
We passed over autumn, I awed at the colors and animals.
Still feeling out of my comfort zone I leaded forwards to be side by side with Gust.
"Where are we going?" I shouted over the wind, he looked over at me and answered, "To the heart of it all."
"What?" I asked, "where's that?"
"London," Rosie shouted,"we'r here."
We landed on a stone path way in what felt warmer than spring but not hot enough to be summer.
There were kids everywhere, some were just sitting around on tables having a conversation or going in and out of what looked like stores.
"Woah," I was mesmerized at all the colors, sounds, and smells.
All types of kids were here, spring kids playing with summer kids and autumn kids running with them.
There was a sweet scent in the air and I looked around at the stores, "What are those for?"
"All kinds of things," Gust said, "mostly clothes."
"Clothes?" I said, "but I thought there wasn't enough material."
"There wasn't but that was then," Rosie said," now when you get rid of old blankets or clothes you can recycle them and people turn them into something new."
"But I thought we only were around for the seasons," I said still confused.
"Let me explain," Rosie said as we walked over to a table in the shade while Gust locked our Shifter to a pole nearby , "At first we only were around for our seasons but there were so many extra people with free time that as the years passed we advanced."
"Advanced how," So many questions were swimming around in my head.
"Well," Rosie stared, " a few girl found old clothing and made new ones, also the smarter kids messed with the idea of having power which after a few years of development made solar, wind, and water devices that gave us electricity."
"Oh," I said, " I read in old books they would give people money or coins for clothing."
"Well you can trade food, stones, or most of the time you just give them old clothing and they could fix it up for you or give you something else." Rosie said.
"Oh okay I get it now," I said, across from us a group of kids were staring and pointing at me, Gust and Rosie noticed it.
"Maybe we should find you a disguise so we won't be followed or bugged," Rosie said.
They both grabbed one of my hands and lead me into one of the stores.
