Chapter 9: Twas the Night Before Christmas

|Play music when you see the cue|

I finished wrapping the last present for my friends and tucked it under the tree. Claude helped me while Sebastian cooked lunch for Ciel and Alois.

"Thank you Claude." I said with a smile. He nodded as a 'your welcome', and he stood up and walked off. I went into the kitchen and turned off the stereo that was playing Christmas music. Ciel and Alois sat at the counter and looked at me as Sebastian finished Ciels lunch and Claude fixed up Alois's lunch a bit. "Yes (Y/N)?" Ciel asked. I walked over to the counter.

"Well, as you guys may have guessed, there will be a Christmas tradition or two you'll have to participate in, since you're living here right now." I said.

  "What traditions do you have my darling?" Sebastian said.

  "That's actually what I was gonna explain. So, every Christmas Eve, my dads side of the family meets up at my grandma's house and we celebrate Christmas with them for a few hours then come back home. We also go to church before hand usually, but since I see no point in going if none of us want to, we won't go to church." I explained.

  "Thank you miss (Y/N)." Claude said.

  "You're welcome. Now there's a few things I'd like to address about it." I commented. They all focused in.

"Okay, so I need a few things from you all. Number one, I need you to be washed, fed, dressed and ready to leave by 5:00 tonight." I started.

  "Not a problem at all for us." Sebastian said.

  "Good. Secondly, while we are there, you must be on your best behavior at all times. Especially since my family will be there. So that means no fighting, no insults, pleases and thank you's, smiles and nice actions. Understood?" I said looking all of them in the eye.

  "Yes, of course." Ciel said s the others nodded.

  "Alright. Lastly, mind yourselves in what you do and or say because there will be young children there. Okay?" I said. "Yes my lady." Sebastian said.

I smiled. "Okay, you know what you're doing, I'll leave you to it." I said walking upstairs to get stuff done before the party.

4:55..I glanced at my clock as I finished my makeup with one last layer of lipgloss. I grabbed my purse, phone and keys and looked in the mirror one last time. I wore my black long sleeve lace dress with my hair pinned up in a bun. After turning out the lights in my room, I went downstairs. When I got to the kitchen, Sebastian and Ciel stood there, ready as I told them to be. I grabbed my high heels and started to slip them on. Then I heard Claude and Alois walk in as I stood up. Once I had my shoes and everything, I got them into the car and we drove to my grandmothers house

"(Y/N)! We almost thought you wouldn't come because your parents aren't here." My grandma said greeting me at the door with a hug and a kiss on the cheek.

   "Grandma, I'd never miss spending Christmas here tonight with you." I said with a smile. Then she turned to the other four behind me.

   "You all must be (Y/N)'s friends she told me about." My grandma said with a friendly welcoming smile. Sebastian took her hand and kissed the top of it gently.

   "Madam, we thank you for allowing us to join in your Christmas festivities this evening with (Y/N)." He said. My grandma blushed and chuckled.

   "Oh but of course! Any friend of (Y/N)'a is certainly welcome. Come on in! Everyone is in the family room." She said.

We went into the family room, and when we did, they all looked up and smiled.

  "Hey (Y/N)! How are you sweet pea?" Grandpa said giving me a hug. I smiled.

  "I'm good! Everyone, these are my friends, Sebastian, Claude, Ciel and Alois. They're spending Christmas Eve with us tonight." I said. Everyone looked at them and sure enough some of my cousins, uncles and aunts came forward and greeted them too.

   Once all that was done and I set my stuff down I heard a familiar, happy little squeal and giggle. I smiled and got on all fours and crawled to the tree. I heard the giggling again. I crawled slowly around the tree and sure enough, found the culprit of the little giggle.

"Gotcha!" I said. It was my 2 year old little cousin (F/N). She squealed as I scooped her up and started tickling her tummy. My aunt chuckled.

"She was looking for you when we got here." She said. I looked at (F/N) and bounced her playfully. When I stopped she giggled more.

   "(Y/N)!" She said happily and excitedly. I smiled at her and looked over at the guys, Claude and Sebastian stared at us wistfully. I walked over, still holding (F/N).

   "Sebastian, Claude, this is my little cousin (F/N). She can't talk much yet, but she knows some words." I said with a smile. I looked at (F/N) and pointed to them.

   "(F/N), can you say hi?" I asked, moving the hair from her eyes. (F/N) shyly looked at them and waved her little hand.

  "H-Hi." She said. Sebastian smiled at her and shook her little hand very gently.

  "Nice to meet you (F/N)." He said. She giggled and grabbed his nose. Then she momentarily let go.

   "(Y/N) P-Play." She said looking at me and pointing to her toys. I smiled and took her over to her toys to play with her.

{Sebastian's POV}

After I was greeted by (Y/N)'s family, I saw her get down onto the floor on her hands and knees. I watched, confused.

  "What exactly is she doing?" Claude asked.

  "Shh!" I hissed. She crawled around the Christmas tree slowly as if she were looking for something. Then we heard a series of giggles from the tree. When (Y/N) stood up, she held a small child. A little girl, who looked to be no more than a year or two old, giggling in (Y/N)'s arms, seemingly overjoyed to see her.

   Though I don't usually care much for children, this was quite a beautiful sight. And the way she acted with the child, was so motherly and so very perfect. I couldn't remove my gaze. Then suddenly I started thinking. 'She would make a wonderful mother.'

{Claude's POV}

I stared at (Y/N) and (F/N), highly surprised. She had quite a way with children. Suddenly, I started to feel something in my chest. It felt slightly painful but then it became all warm and fuzzy as it spread. 'No...it couldn't be.' I thought, as I stood there, still starring at her. 'D-Do I have, feelings...for a human?'
