THE GOBLET OF FIRE

"I don't believe it!" Ron said, in a stunned voice, as the Hogwarts students filed back up the steps behind the party from Durmstrang. "Krum, Harry! Viktor Krum!"

"For heaven's sake, Ron, he's only a Quidditch player," said Hermione, "Plus Harry reckons that his friend is here!"

"Only a Quidditch player?" Ron said, looking at her as though he couldn't believe his ears. "Hermione—he's one of the best Seekers in the world! I had no idea he was still at school!"

Then it was announced that students who weren't tired could roam around the halls before supper which was due to start in about one hour.

Harry and Hermione scanned the place for Abigail while Ron looked around for Krum as a girl would look around for her celebrity crush... so like himself.

Then, they was a loud, "Oh my God!" and the golden trio turned around to see this beautiful brunette, who though had the worst scowl on her face a few seconds prior, was now sporting the biggest smile possible. A few of beauxbatons kids gave her a weird look but Harry though she looked beautiful.

She was in his arms before you can say Quidditch. And then she hit him in the arm, hard.

"Arsehole!" she exclaimed.

Harry muttered an "ouch" but he was so happy to see Abigail in front of him.

"Nice to see you too, Abby," he exclaimed.

She rolled her eyes, "Whatever 'arry, but for the love of England what the hell is wrong with your hair?"

The golden trio laughed. She would fit right in with them.

He hugged her again and whispered lowly so only she could hear, "I didn't know you were a witch."

she laughed and nodded, "ditto bitch."

Then she looked over at his friends, "I am Abigail Danvers-Black." she introduced, confidence and pride, radiating off her. They all looked shocked, including Harry.

Looks like she forgot to tell him that but then she seemed to remembered how her father was an escaped prisoner.

she furrowed her eyebrows and glared at them, "my dad is innocent."

Harry took her hands while Ron and Hermione smiled at her, but in a way that Abby knew they was hiding something, "we know."

Then the tall red-haired boy changed the subject- "I am Ron by the way, Harry's best friend."

Abby nodded and smirked when she heard the note of jealousy in the boys voice.

Hermione hugged the girl, "I am Hermione!" she exclaimed.

"Nice to meet you, Ginger and Hermione," Abby smiled.

Harry felt compelled to hug her again and so he did.

"How come you're a witch?" He asked her, eyes wide. Abigail missed her best friend so much. At beauxbatons, she stuck out like a sore thumb.

"Well you see, my magical mummy and my magical daddy went into-" she was cut of by a strangled noise from Harry's throat signaling her to kindly shut up. She did.

"How come you never knew Harry was a wizard?" Hermione questioned.

"I know it seems stupid but I don't read newspapers and all," she told them, "and have you seen this guy? he is too scrawny to be able to even stand, let alone be the savior of the entire Wizarding World against the one and only Mr. Voldy."

The two laughed while Harry looked offended

Ron was still confused, "You look the youngest here from your school," he pointed out.

Harry and Hermione looked around to come to the same conclusion.

with a smirk on her face she said," on probation,"

Harry raised his eyebrows in question.

"I punched a girl," she told them, "but in my defense, she was a real bitch."

Just then Draco and his goons slithered (see what I did there) over to the quad.

"Dearest Abby! Why are you here?" Draco asked, his eyes narrowing at her companions.

She turned to the trio and spoke- "Cousin."

"He has been bullying Harry for three entire years," Ron scrunched up his face and informed her.

"Distant." she corrected.

[if you understood that reference..... i love you 3000]

Draco coughed loudly behind them.

"Oh Draco, stop being a child," she chided, "Harry is my best friend."

"Your best friend?!" Draco yelled, gathering the attention of students nearby, "Wait a bloody second, the same best friend you have a cru-" he was interrupted by Abigail covering his mouth.

Harry and Ron looked confused while Hermione's eyes brightened up.

"shut it, Drake," she whispered dangerously, "or I will hex you into another universe where you are possessed by your worst nightmare and have to work with someone you hate more than Harry."

she remembered all the times that her brother complained about Harry Potter. He talked about him so much, at one point she started believe he was in love with the famous scar-head.

His skin paled and he walked away while the golden trio admired her. She just managed to shut up Draco Malfoy of all people.

"Have I mentioned how glad I am to see you?" Harry smiled.

"Well, I wouldn't mind hearing about how much of a delight I am again."

They then recrossed the entrance hall with the rest of the students heading for the Great Hall as it was time for food.

Harry saw Lee Jordan jumping up and down on the soles of his feet to get a better look at the back of Krum's head. Several sixth-year girls were frantically searching their pockets as they walked—"Oh I don't believe it, I haven't got a single quill on me—"

"D'you think he'd sign my hat in lipstick?"

"Really," Abby and Hermione said loftily as they passed the girls, now squabbling over the lipstick.

"I'm getting his autograph if I can," said Ron. "You haven't got a quill, have you, Harry?"

"Nope, they're upstairs in my bag," said Harry.

They walked over to the Gryffindor table and sat down. Ron took care to sit on the side facing the doorway, because Krum and his fellow Durmstrang students were still gathered around it, apparently unsure about where they should sit. The students from Beauxbatons had chosen seats at the Ravenclaw table. They were looking around the Great Hall with glum expressions on their faces. Three of them were still clutching scarves and shawls around their heads.

Abigail rolled her eyes at them, not caring about the fact that she was sitting away from her schoolmates.

"It's not that cold," said Hermione defensively, looking at them too. "Why didn't they bring cloaks?"

"They are idiots," Abby declared, hugging her own cloak.

"Over here! Come and sit over here!" Ron suddenly hissed. "Over here! Hermione, budge up, make a space—"

"What?"

"Too late," said Ron bitterly.

Viktor Krum and his fellow Durmstrang students had settled themselves at the Slytherin table. Harry could see Malfoy, Crabbe, and Goyle looking very smug about this. As he watched, Malfoy bent forward to speak to Krum.

"Yeah, that's right, smarm up to him, Malfoy," said Ron scathingly. "I bet Krum can see right through him, though... bet he gets people fawning over him all the time... Where d'you reckon they're going to sleep? We could offer him a space in our dormitory, Harry... I wouldn't mind giving him my bed, I could kip on a camp bed."

Abigail snorted.

"They look a lot happier than the Beauxbatons lot, they look like Abby" said Harry.

Abigail rolled her eyes, "No one can compete in a total bitch/ depressed face competition with me, Hair."

The Durmstrang students were pulling off their heavy furs and looking up at the starry black ceiling with expressions of interest; a couple of them were picking up the golden plates and goblets and examining them, apparently impressed.

Up at the staff table, Filch, the caretaker, was adding chairs. He was wearing his moldy old tailcoat in honor of the occasion. Harry was surprised to see that he added four chairs, two on either side of Dumbledore's.

"But there are only two extra people," Harry said. "Why's Filch putting out four chairs, who else is coming?"

"Eh?" said Ron vaguely. He was still staring avidly at Krum.

When all the students had entered the Hall and settled down at their House tables, the staff entered, filing up to the top table and taking their seats. Last in line were Professor Dumbledore, Professor Karkaroff, and Madame Maxime.

When their headmistress appeared, the pupils from Beauxbatons leapt to their feet, except of Abigail. It seems that she didn't really care about rules.

A few of the Hogwarts students laughed. The Beauxbatons party appeared quite unembarrassed, however, and did not resume their seats until Madame Maxime had sat down on Dumbledore's left-hand side. Dumbledore remained standing, and a silence fell over the Great Hall.

Well, this better be good.
