Everybody knew the Dursleys.
They were the rich family that lived on 4 Privet Drive, Little Whinging, Surrey which was about forty miles from London.
To the outside world, they were a normal family.
A mother, a father and a son all under one roof.
And also, how can we forget about the 'troubled' scrawny nephew that lived in the cupboard under the stairs?
It was said that the boy's parents had died in a car accident when he was just a kid. The boy, Harry had no collection of it, just some dreams, here and there of bright green light and a lightning-shaped scar on his forehead.
But before I get ahead of myself, you should know-
This story is not about the little boy who lived as a prisoner in his own home.
This story is not about the boy who lived.
No.
This story is about little Abigail Danvers who lived right next door to the Dursleys.
It was a fine day at St. Grogory's Primary School in the year 1985.
Abigail had just turned five last summer and was starting her first day at the new school. She was really excited.
Her parents, Margaret and Thomas Danvers were really protective of her and didn't like the little girl being out of their sight.
They had secrets, many of them really, but their biggest secret had always been the five year old that was given to them for protection by her biological father.
He needed her to be safe when the Dark Lord rose.
But little Abby didn't know that.
All she knew was that she was excited to be here, at her new school without her parents making sure that she was right across the room from them.
She walked through the playground during the break looking for someone to play with.
All the girls were being meanies and the boys were too wild for her choice.
She circled around the swings, hoping to find something to do.
And right there under the slides was a little boy wearing thick glasses.
"Hello," she told him and his had snapped up to look at the blonde beauty, "I am Abigail! Who are you?"
"H-harry Potter," he replied.
"Well Harry, we are going to be bestfriends now," she held up her pinky finger, "always."
Timidly the boy looked up at her smiled, "okay"
He wrapped his own little finger in hers.
"Harry!" Eight year old Abigail screamed as Dudley punched him yet again.
That guy just wouldn't stop getting huge and being a bigger bully. He also wouldn't stop using her bestfriend as a punching bag.
Because of the pair's differing sizes, Dudley could easily hurt Harry, although Harry was often faster than Dudley which forced the older boy to chase his cousin.
It was amusing as long as it was Dudley Dursley that was suffering.
"Oh look," Dudley teased, "Harry's girlfriend is here!"
Abby shook her head.
He really shouldn't have done that.
Harry was a sweet kid, through and through. He was a warm presence to have around but that was only until someone tried to hurt one of those people that he loved.
And the only person he loved who was still alive was Abigail Danvers, his bestfriend.
He coldly stared at his cousin, and the eight year old boy actually looked scary.
Just then, the main water pipe that they were standing near burst open, drenching the Dursley boy and his over confident goons.
The water didn't even touch the pair of bestfriends.
But Harry didn't do it.
The Dursleys had, not surprisingly always hid evidence of Harry's existence by not having pictures of him in the house. Among the few people who did know about Harry were of course Abby, his bestfriend, Petunia's friend Yvonne and Vernon's sister Marge, the latter of whom the boy was forced to consider an aunt to him despite not being a relative of his.
A pity actually since Aunt Marge showed the most dislike for the frail boy when she visited Privet Drive for Dudley Dursley's fifth birthday, when she whacked Harry around the shins to stop him from beating Dudley at musical statues, and on holidays like Christmas, when she brought a computerised robot for Dudley she would get the poor boy a box of dog biscuits.
She eventually made a fool out of the young Potter during Dudley's tenth birthday, when Harry accidentally stepped on the paw of her favourite pet bulldog Ripper, causing the enraged dog to chase him out into the garden and up a tree. Abigail who was present there due to the fact that her parents and the Dursleys were passing 'friends' tried to get the dog off Harry.
Dudley laughed himself silly at the sight of his cousin and Lady Friend then, and to the Dursleys' delight, Marge refused to call Ripper off until past midnight.
As it turned out Harry's hardship, however, was highly necessary as by returning to live with his mother's only living blood relative, the protection that Lily gave Harry would continue.
Abigail, who, just like Harry did not yet know of the magical world was a necessary player in Dumbledore's plans.
He knew that when the time came, they would be the ones who stopped Voldemort.
As long as Harry and Abigail could call that place home they would would not be harmed in the name of their respective prophecies.
However, the Bond of Blood charm would be broken when both Harry and little Abby would turn seventeen years old, or when They stopped calling Privet Drive their home.
The letters came by owl.
Or owls.
First a black owl came through the Danver's window and stood with a letter attached and then another owl flew in, looking extremely tired and he too had a letter.
The first one said-

The other one read-

When Margaret and Thomas found the letters, they were ecstatic but sad at the same time. The thing they were saddest about was the fact that they hd no choice but to tell Abby about her real parents.
She told him about this another little boy whose parents died (trying to keep the name Harry Potter out of it, since they were there to take care of Harry too with the help of the squib)
They told her about her real dad, Sirius Black who had trusted the couple enough to keep their daughter safe.
They gave her the letters and photograph that her biological family had left behind. They tried to keep the explosion as small as possible.
But this girl?
This girl was from the Noble House of the Blacks. It was seemingly impossible. After deciding that reaching out to someone in the Black household would help, the Danver's met up with the Malfoys where Draco and Abby became good friends.
Then the decision was made. It was safer for Abigail Danvers-Black (who decided she wanted to keep both her surnames) to attend Beauxbaton in France. Away from the drama that was surely about to come in the next few years.
Abigail said goodbye to Harry, telling him nothing of magic. She gave him a birthday gift and left for France.
She didn't know that on that very same evening, Harry Potter, who so not coincidentally happened to also be her Harry, found out about the Wizarding world.
The pair never forgot each other, and during hard times found comfort in thoughts of the latter.
That is till their fourth year when all they knew went down the hole just like Alice had and soon they didn't know what to believe.
Was all of it a lie?
