"Guys...I think there's a boat down there"

"Shut up"

"What?"

"No way"

"No, no, guys. I'm serious. There's a boat down there. For real" Pope says pointing at the water right behind JJ.

They all stand on the edge of the boat looking into the water.

"He's right. Let's have a look" Winter say as she push her white open button up off her shoulders letting fall to the ground. They all just stare at her.

"What?" Winter ask as she unbutton her shorts

"Nothing" they all say in sync

"Well come on. Get undressed or me and JJ go alone" She say popping a hand on her hip standing in just a lavender swimsuit. They quickly get undressed. As soon as John B is done Winter push him in. The girls jump in right after. Pope is last in. Like always.

The teens all dive down to check it out. It is a Grady-white. Winter's grandparents has one.

"You guys saw that right?" JJ ask as they return to the surface again. Everyone answer him that they do and start to swim towards the boat.

"A new one of those is like 50 Gs, easy"

"That's a primo rig" JJ says as everyone except Winter jump on the boat. John B kneels down and lifts her out of the water as he says

"Yeah. That the boat I saw when I surfed the surge. Maybe it hit the jetty or something?" He puts her down and she hits his chest. Maybe a little to hard by the way it sounded.

"You surfed the surge? Are you crazy?" All he does is look down at her. He can tell what she's thinking from her reaction. He puts a soft hand on her and whispers

"It's okey. We are okey. Everything went fine" Winter's heart was racing of the thought of something bad happening. What if he had crashed like she did. What if he wasn't as lucky as she was.

JJ says something that makes her skin crawl. "That's my boy". Think about everything that could have gone wrong last night and the way he said "we". It wasn't JJ. He was sleeping at Winter's house because her grandparents didn't let her spend the night at the chateau, so JJ came to her instead. It wasn't Kie by the look she gave John B when he said it. And that leaves Pope and Winter feels kinda hurt by the thought that they would risk their life's know what happened to Winter last year

She goes blank in her thoughts and don't come back until John B stands on the edge with the anchor infront of his chest.
She quickly stand up and take the anchor from him.

"Are you serious that stupid?" She asked him. "Step aside and tell me what I'm looking for"

"Your not going down there" Pope says to her, like he could ever stop her.

"To hell I am. If I need to remind you I'm the one who was on the swimming team for five years"

"See ya" She said before jumping down. The anchor pulls her down fast to the sunken boat. She searched the boat and finds a key. She grabbed it and quickly returned to the surface

"Ta-da." She says holding up the key to show her friends on the boat.

"A key?"

"Yes, a key, Pope. God" She wait in the water for someone to help her on to the boat and after a long while JJ remembers.

"Sorry, W. I forgot" John b says as JJ sets her down next to him

"It fine. Should we report it to the coast gourd." She asked and kie ships in

"Maybe we'll get a finder's fee"

"Yeah, and not work all summer" JJ says.

"You guys go. I will stay here" Winter says as they dock by the coast gourds report center.

"You okey?" Kie and Pope ask at the same time. "Yah, just my shoulder"
She was laying, she took the dubbel amount of pills then what she actually needs for her shoulder. She knew because of who she is everyone will want to help her as soon as she steps in to that center. She was the granddaughter of Elton Lowe, the richest men on obx and the most powerful. And if that wasn't enough her father is an police officer and her Godmother is the sheriff. Plus she kind wants to see where the key belongs.

Not long after they come back to the boat, kie tossing the keys to Winter.
No one listened to them so they are going to check it out for themselves.

They dock at the front of the motel.

"Don't let him do anything stupid" Pope says to John B talking about JJ

"Oh, we will" JJ says

"I'm not making promises" John b answer him. Winter walk over to him.

"Be careful. Both of you" She say as she gives him the key.

"I mean it"

The boys jump off

"JJ, I'm serious. If my dad finds out about this we are all dead" Winter shout after them

"Then we will die together" JJ yells and the boys do the handshake

And speak of the devil. A cop car drives up to the motel and out steps Winter's dad and his partner. Winter panic and quickly hides in the compartment under her.

"What are you doing" Pope ask her.

"What do you think? Hiding from my dad, Dumbass"

Pope and kie go warn John B and JJ.
Winter continues to hide until she heard everyone on the boat again. But she when she tries to lift the lid, it's stuck.

"Guys?"

All out of a sudden John B push up the lid. Winter lifts her arms up and he helps her out.

"What the hell" JJ says

"I forgot you were down there"

"Me too"

"Thanks guys. Love you too."

"So what did you find?"

The idiots had found and taken cash. And a fucking gun.

Winter goes blank. She does that when she is stressed. Kie holds her hand and leads the way. When it happens it's like she is sleep walking.
The Pogues has gotten guessed to it now and lead her through it.

Winter didn't really come back until they were back at the chateau. Scooter was found dead and it is his boat that they found. The group decided to keep the money.

After awhile the group find Winter in JJ room sleeping. They all sit around her and decide on what they are going to do with the money.

"Come on sleepy head. Kegger time!" JJ says slapping Winter's thigh.

"I hate beer" She says pressing a pillow over her head.

She snuggles into the bed more as she hears everyone leave. But she feels the bed dip as someone sits down next to her. The pillow that is pressed to Winter's face is taken and John B looks down on her.
He strokes the hair covering her face to the side.

"You feeling okey today? You gone a lot more to day." He says and for some reason all she does is nod as she thinks "My beautiful best friend. I love him. He's so pretty"

"Please, come to the kegger" he says but she sticks her bottom lip out and flash him her best puppy eyes.

"That doesn't work on me" he says as he pulls her into a sitting position. And she moan out in pain. "Please, you will have fun when you get there"

She tips forward against him, resting her head on his shoulder.

"Am I allowed to shower first?"

"You shower, we can go fix the beer" he says kissing the back of Winter's head and leaves. When she hears them leave the house she catches herself blushing and smacks her head against the pillow screaming and kicking her feet.

After a quick shower she puts on some make-up but leaves her hair as it is. She finds a old swimsuit she has left here as well as a simple strapless white sundress with blue flowers on it. Seens her accident it's been hard. Feeling like her old self but then again. But she also didn't want to be the person she was before it either. She would have called John B something mean that day on the beach instead of spending the day with him. But then again she won't have to take pain meds and smoke weed to feel something that wasn't pain.

She strolls down to the beach. Almost every teen on the obx is there. Or it looks like it atlest. She spot kie and John B.

"What is she doing here?" Kie says as Winter walks over to them to see what she is looking at. Sarah Cameron aka the bitch. They grew up together and were best friends. Winter, Sarah and her big brother Rafe used to do everything together. Then Rafe grew up and didn't want to hangout anymore but then they found kie. But that didn't last long. Kie started to hang with the pogues again. Then Winter's mom died. And she went to go live with my grandparents. And Sarah gets jealous easily, especially of Winter and when she got the most attention.
It was that way when they were younger as well.

Winter get a toy, she wants the exact same one. Winter get a cute dress, she wants cute dress. Winter has her first kiss, she gets her first kiss. Winter get a boyfriend, she gets a boyfriend. Winter loses her mom, she says she loved her as a second mom and lost her too. Winter get hurt in an accident and become addicted to pain meds, she is the victim because she has to see her best friend in pain.

And to top it off now she is dating Winter's cousin Topper. So every family dinner, surprise. And now she is there too.
