"Run!" Jimin yelled and took off first, pulling Soowa with him. Soowa screamed and Taehyung cursed, starting to run as well. Their movements and shouts triggered the attacking system in the wolves. They let out loud barks and chased them.

The thick snow made it harder for them to run as their legs were not made for it. The pack of wolves could easily get through the snow as they lived here. The low growls and barks got louder by the minute and struck fear in all three of them. Worse, Soowa tripped on a rock.

"Soowa!" Jimin panicked. He quickly ran to her aid and picked her up. "Come on, get up!" he said and picked her up. Suddenly, he heard a loud bark, and Jimin turned around just in time to see a wolf leap at them. The canine teeth and the frightening amber eyes were so close that Jimin truly believed that he was a goner.

However, something hit the wolf on the head before it could even get him. The wolf whimpered because of the impact and was sent back to the ground.

Jimin gasped and looked up to see Taehyung holding the shotgun in front of him. He swung the shotgun repeatedly at the wolves to scare them. Somehow it had been useful after all.

"Hey! Stop wasting time and get up dummy!" Taehyung shouted at them with his eyes remaining on the wolves that were barking at him. At that, Jimin quickly stood up with Soowa in his arms. "You guys go! I’ll distract them!" Taehyung yelled.

"You what?! Don’t be a hero–"

"I’ll be fine! Just go!" Taehyung shouted at him.

Jimin cursed out loud. "You better come back to us in one piece or I will become a parapsychologist to hunt you down in ghost land!" he shrieked before taking off with Soowa.

Taehyung landed another strike on the big black wolf's head. It triggered the anger in all the wolves and now their green and amber eyes were set only on him. "Yeah! Eyes all on me, mutt!" Taehyung tempted the wolves and ran off in the opposite direction of Jimin and Soowa.

As he had hoped, the wolves chased after him and only him. From the corner of his eye, Taehyung saw Jimin and Soowa escaping into the dark forest. Then they disappeared from his line of sight.

The sun had fallen and the moon had risen. The light of the moon was not helping much because it was still dark and Taehyung couldn’t see things clearly. He was silently praying, hoping he wouldn't trip on a small rock because there wouldn't be anyone to save him like Jimin saved Soowa.

Taehyung frantically looked around, trying to find a safe place. Nothing other than trees. Then an idea popped into his mind. He started searching for trees he could easily climb on and tall enough so the wolves wouldn't be able to get him. Then he spotted one. A relieved smile appeared on his face and he ran up to the tree. Without wasting a second, he began to climb up.

When he got to the top, Taehyung looked down and was met with glowing amber eyes that shone under the moonlight. All of them were staring up at him, waiting patiently for him to fall so they could gnaw on his sweet meat. Taehyung screamed at them to scare them away but to no avail. They circled the tree repeatedly, like a shark circling its prey in the sea.

Taehyung doesn't know how patient they were, but he was starting to fear he would be here all night.

Just when he was about to lose hope, the ears of the wolves all perked up and they started backing away. Their heads turned from side to side like they were looking for something. Taehyung thought maybe they were trying to find new prey, but no, it was something else. He noticed the tails of the wolves were curled up, expressing their fear and they all grouped up together to protect each other.

Then a rustling sound was heard. It was all too familiar, and Taehyung’s eyes widened. “Could it be…” he whispered.

It was not the bear he had expected to see. "Sapphire...." His mouth fell open. She was standing there, tall and confident as her blue piercing eyes glared down at the wolves.

"Are you guys really that hungry?" Sapphire asked. The wolves growled lowly at her, standing their ground. "Not giving up? You guys are really determined to fill your bellies, huh?" Sapphire mocked and cracked her neck. "Hey..." Sapphire called and looked up at Taehyung.

Taehyung flinched as her piercing blue eyes burned through his. "What– m-me?" Taehyung stupidly asked and pointed at himself.

A sigh escaped Sapphire and she nodded. "You better not fall now," she warned before taking a step towards the wolves.

The alpha stood its ground, refusing to surrender. The wolves behind waited patiently for their alpha's instruction to strike. Sapphire bravely took another step and when she was close enough, the alpha leaped. Its mouth was wide open, displaying its sharp canine teeth.

Sapphire, who was unfazed by this, brought up her fist and landed a hard punch on the wolf's head. She might have broken its skull to bits if she hadn’t have held back. Her blue sapphire eyes glowed brighter in the dark and Taehyung was mesmerised by them despite the intense situation.

The wolves behind started attacking when they saw their injured alpha. All of them at once. Sapphire quickly stepped back, dodging the attacks. When one of the wolves got closer to her leg, she gave it a hard kick in the stomach. The wolf yelped in pain.

"Woah…." Taehyung's jaw dropped, shocked to see a girl who could easily dodge the wolves’ attacks. But then he saw the glowing green eyes behind her. "Behind you!" Taehyung cried.

Sapphire’s eyes widened at his words, but by the time she had turned around, it was too late. A grey wolf leaped and landed on her back, clinging on it. Then it bit her shoulder, making her scream in pain. Blood splattered onto the white fabric of her dress. She needed to get it off. She grabbed the wolf's mouth, and with all her strength she pulled its mouth open and without sparing any second threw the wolf to the front effortlessly.

Taehyung forgot he was supposed to stay up in the safety of the tree. He immediately jumped down despite the height and ran to Sapphire's aid. Sapphire stumbled, ready to fall on the cold snow but instead, she fell into his warm embrace. "Hey! Stay strong! Sapphire!" Taehyung’s deep, worried voice was heard.

Sapphire let out a whimper, wincing at the stinging pain. Her vision was getting more blurry with each second passing, but it's not enough to blur out the glowing pair of green eyes in front of them. However, it seems to be not looking at them but looking down.

She then noticed a small white figure in front of the big menacing wolf. She tried her best to focus on what she was looking at, ignoring Taehyung's constant call for her. When her vision cleared, her eyes widened.

"Jeongin! Get back to your hiding spot!" She ordered the young cub who was standing bravely in front of the wolf. Anxiety was present in her voice and eyes. Jeongin ignored her orders and continued his glaring competition with the wolf. The wolf snarled at him, and took a step closer.

Sapphire tried to stand up but couldn't. The wolf was dangerously close to Jeongin. For the first time after a long time, she felt fear again.

A loud bark was let out and the wolf was suddenly sent back to the ground, away from Jeongin. It had been hit by Taehyung and his famous shotgun. "Why don't you pick on someone your own size, mutt!" He stood in front of Jeongin and Sapphire, protecting them.

A sudden burst of bravery was swirling in him like before when it had been Soowa and Jimin. The injured wolf was too weak to fight and it quickly ran away afterwards leaving its own injured and unconscious pack behind. A sigh of relief escaped Taehyung's mouth, glad that the wolf had given up.

A whimpering sound behind him put him back on alert and he turned around to see the little cub sitting beside Sapphire, who was laying scarily still. Taehyung's heart skipped a beat. He immediately ran back to her and kneeled down beside her.

"Hey! Sapphire! Wake up! Don't die on me now!" Taehyung pulled her up from the ground and she hissed at the pain. Taehyung relaxed a little knowing she was still awake. "Stay still." Taehyung's right arm wrapped around her back and his left arm around her legs. With all his strength, he stood up with Sapphire in his arms.

Jeongin growled at Taehyung, not fully trusting him. Taehyung gave him a soft smile. "Don't worry. I’m helping her. We need to act fast or things might get worse," he said and his eyes wandered to the unconscious wolves behind them. They could wake up anytime soon. Jeongin has no choice but to trust him, for the sake of Sapphire.

A frown appeared on her face as the pain seemed to worsen. She couldn't understand why the healing process was taking so long. Sapphire was not used to pain at all. Taehyung finally took off after mumbling to someone. All she could hear was his muffled voice. She assumed it must be the side effect of the pain.

She tried opening her eyes despite the heaviness of her eyelids. Taehyung's worried face came into her sight first and she stared at the brown orbs that stared back at her.

"You will be okay. Just stay strong." His gaze turned soft.

Sapphire felt something bloom inside her, but the pain fought over it and won. The unknown feeling faded away in a split second before she could even comprehend it.

Then her eyes wandered to the ground behind them and there she saw the cub she was worried about. No injuries were visible in her sight and she was glad that there was not even a scratch on him.

Then the pain stung again and involuntarily, her hand went up and gripped tightly onto Taehyung's clothes. A shaky whimper escaped her lips and her eyes were shut tight. This just added to the weight of Taehyung's worries. However, it got lighter when he finally arrived home.

"We’re here!" he announced and quickly ran up to the door. He passed by the car and the police car parked right outside his house. Sapphire was his top priority now, so he was totally oblivious to his surroundings. He immediately barged in, going straight to his room and laying Sapphire down on his bed. The blood on her shoulder flowed and dripped onto his white clean blanket.

It was all happening again. Taehyung was here to save her once again. It was the second time now and she wondered if there would be a third time.

Taehyung came back with a white box after he went to the toilet and he went back in again, coming out with a pail of water and a towel. He helped her to sit up properly and make sure he was gentle so he wouldn't hurt her. He then took out all he needed from the first aid kit and glanced at her torn clothes nervously.

It had to be removed so he could aid her. He looked at her in the eyes, asking for permission, and she nodded.

"Sorry, but I have to do this," he mumbled before removing the torn fabric, exposing her bare shoulder that was stained with blood. Four holes were seen on her shoulder and blood flowed from the wounds. Taehyung frowned as the holes were smaller than what he expected, considering the wolf's teeth were big in size.

Brushing it off, he grabbed the wet towel and dabbed at the wound, cleaning away the blood carefully. Sapphire winced and her hand gripped on the blanket, squeezing it. "I’ll be fast," Taehyung cooed and continued cleaning the blood off.

When he was done, he noticed the slight change of the wound. The holes had gotten smaller. This time it really weirded him out and he was sure that his eyes were not playing tricks—but nevertheless, he continued to attend to her. He started bandaging her shoulder after applying ointment to her wounds. Then he was finally done.

Sapphire let out a sigh, relaxing a little. "Thank you," she breathed, looking up to meet his eyes. She was so immersed in the beautiful hazel color.

Taehyung gave her his warm smile. "You’re welcome," he said and stood up. Sapphire pouted a little as she couldn't stare at his eyes longer. He went towards his closet and took out a few of his own clothes.

Sapphire watched his every move until he came back to her. "Here, wear these. You can dress yourself, right?" Taehyung asked and she simply nodded. After handing her the clothes, he rubbed his nape feeling awkward. "I– I'll be waiting outside. Call me if you need anything."

Sapphire nodded once again, eyes remaining on him. He cleared his throat and turned around, ready to walk out until Jeongin scared him by blocking his way. He screamed a little and a slight chuckle escaped from Sapphire's mouth. "He won't bite you," she said, but somehow it doesn't ease Taehyung's anxiety, considering the cub seemed to be glaring at him. "Jeongin, come here," she cooed and the cub immediately ran up to her.

She picked him up and welcomed him into her warm embrace. A smile appeared on her face. It was a beautiful smile to Taehyung and his lips curved upwards without realising. They both looked at him. Taehyung's smile immediately dropped. "Why are you still here?" Sapphire asked, tilting her head.

Taehyung's cheeks flushed red at her question and he felt like he was heating up like a kettle. "Uh– I will j-just go now," he stuttered and quickly ran out, closing the door behind him. Sapphire giggled at his cuteness while Taehyung tried to calm his beating heart.

He didn't know why his heart was beating like crazy but he sure wanted it to calm down. When it did, he then had the thought of getting Sapphire some food. Just when he was about to walk to the kitchen, someone called him.

"Tae! You're alive!" a familiar loud voice was heard. Taehyung turned around and was attacked by a warm embrace. "I thought you were dead!" the person cried.

It took Taehyung a few seconds to process everything. When his eyes landed on a crying Soowa who had just entered his house, he remembered he was with Jimin and Soowa before he met Sapphire. He was actually glad, because that way, the two certified doctors could help her.
