" A stormy night when I first met you "

The weather was cold and dull. The rain had turned to snowflakes slowly floating down from the sky, getting bigger and bigger. They blocked out the sun as the winds whipped. Taehyung took a sip of tea as he stared out the window. Then he sighed when he recalled what had happened last night.

The sound of the dialing was cut off when someone picked up the call on the other line. "Hello, this is Kim Namjoon from the police department. What is your–"

"Hyung, this is Taehyung," Taehyung called, cutting him off.

Taehyung had gotten Namjoon's phone number the other day when they had parted ways. Both of them agreed to meet up sometime when they were free so they had exchanged numbers. Namjoon pulled the phone away from his ear to check the caller ID. When he saw the name Taehyung, he smiled and held the phone to his ear.

"Hey, Taehyung! Sorry, I didn’t see your caller ID, I was busy with something," Namjoon apologised. “What brings you to call me this late at night?"

Taehyung was silent for a moment, and Namjoon frowned.

"Hyung, another bear was killed tonight," Taehyung said eventually. Discomfort was clear in his voice. "It's almost the same situation, except a woman was stabbed and she needs help." The sheer panic in his voice was enough for Namjoon to know he was telling the truth.

"What?" Namjoon furrowed his eyebrows, pinching the bridge of his nose and cursing mentally. He immediately cleared his desk and packed his things.

"Tae, stay in your house and don't come out. I will contact Jackson about this, okay?" He was met with silence.

"Taehyung, you there–"

"Sorry, hyung, I gotta go. Bye!"

"Wait, Tae–"

The call ended before Namjoon could stop him and he let out a frustrated groan. He hated it when someone didn’t let him finish. Calming himself, he called Jackson.

"Hey, Joon! What's up?"

"You still remember our last case, right?" Namjoon asked right away.

"Huh? Uh...yeah. Why?"

"Same thing happened again in the same area. I need you there. Call an ambulance. It's an emergency. Don't be late."

Namjoon ended the call and slipped his phone back into his pocket. He was about to climb into his car when his phone vibrated. He checked who it was, and sure enough, it was Jackson.

Wangpuppy

Joon

They said there’s going to be a
storm tonight

They can't be there

We can't either

It's dangerous

Namjoonsss

What?!

Are you sure?

Wangpuppy

Yup

Namjoonsss

Shit

What now

Wangpuppy

I guess we have to wait till
morning

Namjoonsss

Jack we can't wait till morning.

Someone is wounded and she
needs help

Wangpuppy

What?!

Oh my gosh what are we going to do?

Namjoonsss

You remember Taehyung

Wangpuppy

The all forensic scientist guy?

Yeah

Why

Namjoonsss

He’s the one who told
me about this

I am trying to contact him back to ask
if he can help the woman somehow

But

Wangpuppy

But?

Namjoonsss

But he’s not answering me

Wangpuppy

Shit

He said he took medical courses right?

I am sure he can handle it

Let's hope for the best

You there?

Hey man

Don't you dare think of
going there on your own

Namjoonsss

I am still here

I accidentally broke
my flower pot

......maybe not
accidentally

Wangpuppy

Look Namjoon

You can't just change the weather
by kicking some random
flower pot

We have no choice but to wait

Namjoonsss

Fine

Wangpuppy

Let's just put our trust in
Taehyung

Hopefully he did well

Namjoonsss

Hopefully

Taehyung was sent flying to the ground. He landed with a loud thud, his back slammed against the wooden floor causing him to groan in pain. Before he could react, a hand wrapped itself around his throat and his eyes widened in shock.

"Wait, miss–c-calm down–"

"WHERE ARE THEY?" she yelled.

Her blue sapphire eyes were glowing brightly. Her strength had come back after taking a few hours rest. Taehyung had been taking care of her. It was when he had decided to change her bandage that she had woken up and pushed him onto the ground. She reacted quickly, hovering over him so he couldn’t escape.

"Miss, there is a misunderstanding–”

"TELL ME WHERE THEY ARE BEFORE I–"

"Don’t cut me off!" Taehyung shouted back and pushed her. This time Taehyung was pinning her down so she wouldn’t escape.

She was shocked that Taehyung was able to pin her down on the ground, considering she was technically much stronger than him. She was a half-bear, after all. Unable to escape, she simply glared up at him.

Taehyung glared back. But then he remembered she was wounded and his eyes softened. He also went red realising the position they were in and stood up hurriedly.

"I’m s-so sorry, I didn't mean to push you like that. It’s just you pushed me– I mean– no wait...I mean I shouldn't have pushed you like that since you are wounded," Taehyung rambled, scratching his head.

She is already standing. Her legs were trembling slightly, making Taehyung feel even more guilty. It was probably normal for someone to react like that the moment they woke up after being stabbed. He shouldn't have reacted the way he just reacted.

She stood there on wobbly legs, still keeping her guard up. She had been stabbed, had fainted and suddenly woken up in a foreign place with an unknown man. This was not normal to her. She tried her best to stand properly and began thinking of ways to escape, but her brain wasn’t functioning properly. She felt tired and dizzy. The pain from her wound was not helping either. Even though it had healed, the pain hadn't disappeared yet.

She stumbled, but Taehyung caught her hurriedly.

"Miss! Hey, you need to rest. You just woke up and you’re still weak. You should get back to bed."

"Back off," she muttered, pushing him away. Taehyung quickly put her back on the bed and back off.

"Wait, let me check your wound–"

"Don't touch me," she growled as she covered her wound, glaring at him. When she felt fabric under her palms, she looked down to see a perfectly wrapped bandage around her body. She frowned.

"Who..."

"I did." Taehyung sighed and took a seat on a nearby chair. Sensing her glare, he pinched the bridge of his nose.

"Can you please stop glaring at me? I literally saved you."

"I never asked for your help," she spat and tried to stand up again. This time she managed to make it a little way across the room before steadying herself on the wall.

"Where are you going?" Taehyung frowned as his eyes followed her every action just in case she fell.

"None of your business,” she growled again.

Taehyung couldn't take it anymore. He had never seen a person this rude before. He rolled his eyes and told himself to not help her if anything happened to her.

"Pfft! Do whatever you want then. If I had known you would be this rude I would have left you to die." He said the last sentence under his breath, but he didn't mean it.

Glancing back at her, he saw she was already outside. He sighed again and stood up, following her. He stared at her from behind. His eyes scanned her white glossy hair and he frowned. Her eyes were blue and her hair was white. "Strange...but why does her appearance seem familiar?" Taehyung thought to himself.

He followed close by. When she slipped, he quickly grabbed her arm. She wanted to push him away again, but his grip on her arm was stronger.

"Let me help you. I want you out of my house as soon as possible." He rolled his eyes. He said that so she wouldn't reject his help. She glared again, but she had no choice but to let him. He slowly guided her to the front door.

"Right, I haven't introduced myself. My name is Taehyung. Kim Taehyung."

"Did I ask?" she spat.

"No. What's your name?"

"Shut up."

"What's your name?"

"Didn't you hear–"

"I won't stop asking until you tell me. What's your name?"

She let out a frustrated groan. If it wasn't for her weak body, she would have strangled this man.

"I don't have one," she grumbled.

"What–why?"

"How would I know?" she replied, trying not to shout as it made her dizzy.

Taehyung raised his eyebrows at the answer. He wanted to ask again, but seeing the discomfort on her face, he decided to stop.

"I will give you a name then."

"No."

"That's not a question."

"I said no."

"Sapphire it is!"

"I SWEAR TO F***ING--"

"Woah, calm down." Taehyung giggled at her explosion.

"So, Sapphire...are you going home? You know, I can just take you home tomorrow, you can rest here for tonight."

"No, I don't know."

"Oh come on, it's not like I will touch you–”

"Don't even think about it," she growled through gritted teeth. Taehyung made a 'zip mouth' gesture and simply shrugged.

When they finally reached the front door, the sound of wailing winds could be heard outside. Taehyung looked out the window to see the misty and dark forest. Snow was coming down fast and the wind was howling. "There’s a storm," he thought, glancing at the woman beside him.

"Sapphire, there’s a storm outside. I don't think it's a good idea going out."

She rolled her eyes at the name he had given her and sighed. Then she pulled away from him and made her own way to the door.

"Hey! Didn't you hear me? It's dangerous outside."

"I didn't ask you to follow me."

Taehyung grabbed her arm to stop her from reaching the door knob. She glared at him, but Taehyung is not fazed by it at all. He remained serious.

"I am not letting you kill yourself."

"Aren't you the one who wanted to leave me to die just now?"

Taehyung widened his eyes at that. She scoffed.

"You h-heard that?" Taehyung stammered, feeling awkward.

"No, I didn't," she said sarcastically.

"Seriously, why is everything ‘no’ with you?"

"Seriously, why is everything a question with you?" she spat back.

Now it was Taehyung’s turn to grumble. "I am starting to believe you are Yoongi hyung's sister," he grumbled under his breath. She rolled her eyes and grabbed the door knob.

"Wait–"

"Taehyung," she cut him off and Taehyung remained silent, waiting for her to continue.

"I am not what you think I am. I am fine with the storm but you are not."

Taehyung frowned in confusion at her words. The looks she gave him indicated she would be okay. However, Taehyung couldn't help but feel the swirling feeling of concern. Taehyung opened his mouth to say something, but before he could, she opened the door and the harsh cold wind came blowing in. Taehyung immediately covered his face with his arms and squeezed his eyes shut. But she simply walked out of the house and closed the door behind her.

Taehyung opened his eyes again and ran up to the window. He caught sight of her walking deeper into the mist and disappearing. Taehyung cursed. He stood in front of the door and stared at it, debating on whether he should go out and get her. The storm only sent more fear through him.

Then he made his decision.

"Ah! F*** it!" he cursed, grabbing his coat and opening the door. Then he gulped and stepped out into the storm.
