WH 6
“I have a fake”
“What?” Half popping my top.
“You know a fake ID”
“I know what a fake is, how’d you get one?”
“Guy in NY, cost me a pretty penny.” Rolling those tropical eyes.
“You could of waited till you were of age” Dropping the cap on her coffee table.
“And miss all my drunken filled nights…never” Chuckling.
“Have you even ever been drunk before?” Leaning my arm over the back part of the couch.
“Ummm can’t remember” Chuckling.
“Cute!” Swinging.
Not wanting to leave her, incase Cain tried again; my eyes closed as if I had drifted off. Feeling her eyes on me, made it that much harder not to twitch. Sighing she muttered “Light weight” Is she seriously thinking I feel asleep after two beers. This better be worth it, cause I am not a light weight. The couch shifted, something warm was placed on my legs and chest. Hearing the front door close and lock, her footsteps trailed into the kitchen dropping off the bowl and bottles. Then they moved down the hallway, where a light flicked on. She used the bathroom, then came back out turning the tv off.
Another walk down the hall, before her bedroom light was turned on. Things started lightly dropping on the ground, opening one eye. It widened as I caught a glimpse of her naked body bouncing off of a mirror. Stunning olive skin covered every inch of her. Long legs, a firm ass which was hidden away with those baggy shorts. Black hair draping down all over her back, licking my lips as she slowly turned around.
Breasts big enough to fill more then handfuls, rising her arms twisting her hair into a long braid; showing off a paintbrush stoke birthmark under her left breast. Holding my breath, as to not make a sound. Closing her door halfway, the light turns off. The bed makes a few sounds, before complete silence takes over her small house.
If I said her couch was comfortable it would be an understatement. It seemed to hug you, giving the support you wanted from a mate. Not realizing she was already up and out the door, the sound of a un-maintained pickup roared to life. Sitting up way to fast, only to hold my head. That’s were I found a post-it stuck to my forehead. Really? She stuck a post-it to my head. Pulling it off, reading her very curvy handwriting.
“Alpha, coffee is made. Breakfast is at your house. I’m going to work, only telling you cause you’re my new guard dog”
“Guard dog?” Saying it out loud. I am no ones guard dog, that entitles a collar and chain. Sighing making my way to the coffee pot. Sure enough hot coffee filled my nose, pouring it into the many interesting mugs she had. Picking a mug that looked like a cowboy with practically nothing on. Opening the screen door, smelling the fresh air. Birds floated by, while her hummingbird feeder was bringing in a ton of fast colored, heart stopping winged birds.
Squeaking at one another, trying to get the best spot. Chuckling if they only knew they feeders were all the same. She certainly had plenty of wildlife around, and they didn’t seemed fazed by her smell wafting around.
~Edon~
Pulling into my parking spot, killing the engine. Hitting my head on the back rest. Needing a new truck was a deft, I highly doubt this one will make the winter were going to have. Pulling the handle, my feet hit the gravel. Slamming the door shut, cause that’s the only way it will fully close; I head inside. Dropping my bag on the only empty desk, I see Roy.
“Morning Edon” He’s in his prime, but man can that man shot.
“Morning” Making a fresh pot of coffee, I wait for it to fill.
“No coffee this morning?” Rising his puffy black eyebrow.
“No, was running late” Like I was really going to tell him, I had an Alpha sleeping on my couch. Tapping a finger on the ever discolored counter, I let out another sigh.
“You got the 4section today” Handing me a piece of paper.
“Okay” Looking over the paper. We had a total of 7 sections. It was easier then, trying to tell the other workers where to look. At least with the different sections we could narrow it down.
“John has 3, and I have 6”
“When’s Rick and Tom coming in?”
“Not till, 10” Putting his heavy boots on the side of his desk. Being the only female was nothing new for me. Men are dirty, smelly and just plain nasty however they almost never whine or bitch about stupid shit. So it has its benefits.
“What sections are they covering?” Turning to the pot.
“Rick has 4 and Tom as 1” Folding his hands behind the blackest hair I ever seen on a human.
“Were still short a few sections.”
“Yea, but this is the most people we’ve had in a long time” Roy had been working for the park Rangers, for over twenty years. If that helps with his age, I never asked. And thankfully he never asked mine. With a full cup, dropping in four sugars and a little cream.
“Who gets what vehicle?” Sipping slowly as to not burn my mouth.
“You can have the truck, if you want. Gunna rain”
“No you have arthritis, you take the truck.” It was true, I hated getting wet. But I wasn’t some prissy chick who had to stay clean and dry.
“Always thinking of others.” Chuckling at my remark.
“No just you” Flashing him a winning smile.
“Your honoring me with such flattery.” Grinning from ear to ear. Roy is like a dad to me, however we have our moments when I flirt with him. He says it makes him feel young again.
The front door opened, taking us out of are playful mode. John a well build rock climber stepped in. He seemed annoyed about something.
“Someone woke up sore?” Roy dropped his feet to the floor.
“Damn kids, I swear” Dropping his huge black bag on the floor next to my desk.
“What’d they do this time?” Chuckling and sipping the coffee.
“Freaking little bastards stuck a potatoes in my tail pipe.” Practically spitting out my coffee threw my nose, I bust out laughing.
“Screw you Edon, they could of killed me.”
“Not likely, you’d have to be in an air tight room with the car running a long time before it would do anything. Especially to your brain.” Holding up a finger.
“Very funny” Rolling his eyes. Roy chuckled.
“Alright lets get to work, I have a roast waiting for me.” Roy stood up stretching out his tired body, making it crack out.
“Going to Miss Linda’s again?” Taking one long sip.
“You bet” Winking at me. Miss Linda was a fabulous cook, and she gave me a few pointers when she wasn’t over crowed with customers. She owns a dinner, down the road; and Roy has to pass it before making it to his place.
“Roy gets the truck John.” Tossing him a set of keys to a four wheeler.
“I would of thought you’d take the truck.” Grinning at me.
“Grow up” Shaking his stupid smile out of my head.
“Aww did I touch a soft spot?” Holding his heart.
“I don’t have a soft spot, spud boy” Growling at me, we walked to the shed. Roy’s truck was parked next to mine. Opening the large shed, we stepped in swinging our leg over the four wheelers. Reaching over to the wall, I grabbed my gun.
“See yea Edon” Starting his and taking off. The four wheelers came with everything you would need to save someone. John carried two small pistols, while Roy liked his Revolver. Me on the other hand liked shot guns. Strapping the gun, to the back of the vehicle.
Pulling out, my rounds started now. My area was a good size, however so was everyone else’s. We didn’t have any reports of, hikers being lost. And with the colder weather stepping closer, not many first timers would come out. Mostly it was hunters we were looking for, listening for gun shots was what I did most of the time. Stopping the bike every some many feet, to listen. Today was proving to be a very dull day.
Having about twenty separate trails I needed to cover, this was going to be a long day. Coming around a tight corner, passing a tree that has a weird outreached branch, I ended up having to hit the breaks. There in the middle of the road was the damn Red Alpha. Flipping over the handle bars, my back hit the ground.
“Next time I’m GOING TO RUN YOUR ASS OVER!” Growling at him, pushing my back up. He sat down, titling his head. Groaning while dusting off, he just watched me.
“What stalking me at my house isn’t enough, now your going to bug me at work to?” Huffing at me, he walked behind the tree, only to come back with a pair of shorts.
“I was just checking up on you.”
“Well you checked, you can go now” Pointing to the middle of the woods.
“Harsh”
“No, I have to work. I don’t have time to deal with your stalking habits.” Returning to the bike.
“I was…” Two gun shots rang through the trees.
“Haa great” Kicking the bike into drive, leaving him in the middle of the pathway. Taking about four minutes to get to the man who was shot the gun. Pulling up along side his four wheeler.
“How you doing sir” Pulling out my badge.
“Morning” Smiling at me. He’s got a pretty good size buck, maybe a six pointer.
“You got your Id and tags?” Watching his movements.
“Yes Ma’ma” Handing me a Id, before opening a cooler with a few other items. His Id checks out. My nose picks up the smell of Bear gallbladders. These are not allowed to be kept. Hunters sell them to medicine men, Chinese for medicinal uses.
“Sir, you know that Bear Galls are illegal to have?” Giving him the benefit of the doubt. His fear picks up, and his blue eyes get shifty with me. He knows. Sighing, I’m going to have a problem with him, I just know it. Without warning he points the semi auto at me.
“Not a good choice sir” Tapping his Id in my palm.
“You best stay put little lady.”
“Your pointing a gun at a state employee. Had you just agreed to dispose of the bears parts, you could of kept that buck and whatever else you had. Now I have to arrest you” He racks the gun.
“Don’t move” As my hand starts to go for my cuffs. Getting ready to make my move, the Alpha jumps out in all his wolf glory and ends up scaring the shit out of the man. He turns the gun on the Alpha, screaming out. Without knowing it, my body jumps in front of the Alpha taking the shot to the shoulder. Jumping on the man, Alpha snarls in his face, the man is trying to cover his face while screaming out.
“Son of a bitch” Holding my blood covered left shoulder.
“Wolf get down” Stepping to the two of them. Cuffing the man, I call for backup.
“Roy come in”
“This is Roy, all wet love?” Chuckling
“No, I got shot”
“WHAT!, WHERE ARE YOU?” That calm demeanor washed away.
“I’m on trail 3 about six miles in, next to the deer stand.”
“I’m coming” Dropping the radio on the bike, sitting down as the man is sitting in the dirt. Alpha still growling at him.
“Oh shut up” Glaring at him. His eyes flash to me, before guilt washes over them.
“Go, before Roy gets here” nodding to the trees. One of his ears twitch, as he hears Roy coming fast. Darting into the trees, I can still smell him. He’s just hiding. The truck comes to a ruff stop, as Roy bolts out of the truck looking pale.
“Shit, Edon.” Looking over my arm.
“Get him into the truck, I’ll drive his bike up into the bed.” Standing up.
“No, you need medical treatment” Glaring at the man, who is still shell shocked.
“Its fine Roy, Really get him in the truck.” Walking to the hunters bike, driving it to the back of the truck. Dropping the ramps, getting in the back. Locking the back, Roy has gotten the man in the back seat, where a steel grate blocks him from us in the front.
“I’ll drive my bike back.”
“What? Are you crazy, you’ll bleed to death.”
“No I wont, go if you want to help me start my report. I’ll be along in a few.” Grumbling to more himself, he nods leaving me. Out of sight Alpha stepped back out, in human form.
“That’s gotta get looked at” Standing to close to me.
“Its fine” Swinging my leg over the bike.
“Edon” Grabbing the handle bars.
“Alpha, don’t start. I had everything under control. Stop interfering with my work” Pushing him away. With one hand I managed to get the bike started, and pull myself around. The shot stung, and was putting me in a bad mood. Then again who wouldn’t be in a bad mood if they just got shot.
