Moon x Darkstalker is wrong wrong wrong on so many levels. Firstly, pedophilia: she's a dragonet, he's an adult. He's old enough to be her father; not counting the fact that he's also technically 2000+ years old. Secondly, abuse. He manipulated her into returning his scroll, lied to her about his past, hurt her friends and refuses to let her see him for who he is - even though he knows her mind inside out. They are not a cute couple. At all.

So yeah. This is just a disclaimer that I don't ship this. This was a request.

Okay, I know I've said this song already. But honestly, I really feel like this is the ultimate song for Moonwatcher and Darkstalker. It starts on a hopeful, ambitious note - "We're gonna be legends". Darkstalker meets Moon and encourages her, helping with her powers and teaching her to see them as a gift instead of a curse. But gradually, it progresses to something a bit crueller: "If there's a light at the end, it's just the sun in your eyes.". That's basically Darkstalker telling her there's no happy ending. Her friends will see her as deceiving. "I know you wanna go to heaven, but you're human tonight," is Darkstalker telling her that although she wants to be normal and he knows it, she can't change herself and become like other dragons. And Moon's sitting at the bottom of a swimming pool - that is, in her own self-doubt - contemplating, trying to hide from the reality. She's only a dragonet; this is too much for her to handle. She will make mistakes.
The song basically just becomes more and more manipulative, and crueller. "Don't get caught on my edges" is Darkstalker threatening her, or warning her that he still is a dangerous dragon. He begins to manipulate her into helping him, saying it's the right thing to do ("If you wanna go to heaven...").
But in the end, they're still just young gods. Still very much learning their limits. Darkstalker's learning what's happened to Pyrrhia while he's gone, and accustoming to the loss of Clearsight. Moonwatcher is the start of a new generation of empowered NightWings, and still learning where she fits in the world. Yes, they are significantly above all those "people underneath", but really, they're still pretty insignificant.
Just young gods.
