Prologue
Tamarin was breathing slowly in the hospital wing. She has been like that for days.
How could I let this happen...I can save her. But these annoying dragons won't let me use my power. If I could just heal her a bit?
Anemone reached out and touched Tamarin's wing. But she couldn't enchant her. She wouldn't like that. Not at all. Tamarin winced slightly and Anemone pulled her talon back.
"Mother will be here in a few days. I hope you wake up before then. She surely won't let me out of her sight again." Anemone said a little weakly. She glanced at the withering flowers lying next to Tamarin. She picked them up and walked out of the room.
At the nearest window, she threw the flowers into the forest. A small breeze came through the window and reminded her of the ocean. The sand in between her talons, the salty air of the sea, and her mother's queenly voice on pause. Only a soft, thoughtful voice was left.
Tsunami came around the corner. "Good morning Anemone. What are you doing here? I thought mother had picked you up already." She was using a somewhat serious tone that wasn't used to often. "I believe she's coming in a day or two. But right now I'm finding new flowers for Tamarin." Anemone said back. "Sunny says Glory will probably send for all the Rainwings soon. It's understandable but I still wish everyone could stay." Tsunami informed her.
She hadn't thought much about the queens calling for their dragonets to come home. She was supprised the Nightwings let them come in the first place. Then again they were ruled by a Rainwing.
"Come on. I'll find some with you." Tsunami said. Anemone was opening her mouth to object but Tsunami flew out to window.
It was a cold and foggy day outside. Dried Icewing and Nightwing blood still was on the floors and walls of the mountain. Tsunami dove into the forest and Anemone followed, close behind. Tsunami walked between a few bushes, looking for flowers. The clouds parted, revealing green tinted light that draped over everything.
It made it feel magical.
"Is this what it looks like in the rainforest?" Anemone asked when she caught up to Tsunami. "Yes but add more sloths and bright colored tree frogs." Tsunami said, looking up at the trees. "Oh,, and all the fruit Clay could eat.. if we hadn't made this school, he'd be back at the rainforest before you could say toucan." Tsunami looked around for a few more minutes but then held up a talonful of pink and blue flowers. She handed them to Anemone and said "Will these do?" Anemone had seen Tamarin turn those colors before. Whenever she was embarrassed or happy, her scales turned a light pink. "Yes those will work. Thanks." Anemone said as she grabbed the flowers and took off. She turned into the big open wall of the dining hall and landed.
Clay was chewing on a large chicken. "Oh! Hph thwer." Clay said, greeting Anemone. He swallowed and limped over to the fruit table. "You should take some fruit for Tamarin. She must be starving!" He handed her a banana. "Thank you. I think Tamarin will wake up soon." Anemone said back. Clay waved to her as she hurried into the confusing hallways. When she got to the cave, Tamarin was stretching. "Good morning. I brought you some pretty flowers. What type are they?" Anemone said, handing the flowers to Tamarin. "These are Cornflowers. They're very nice. Thank you." Tamarin beamed at Anemone and hints of pink and orange were on her scales. "So do you think there's gonna be another prophecy? Like the last two?" Tamarin said as if she has been wanting to talk about this subject for a while. "I'm confidant that we can live happy lives again. Without all the prophecy's death promising words. We have nothing to worry about."
