Prologue

A dark purple dragon with a sunrise coloured underbelly was staring at the three moons from the window of her stone brick home in the Night Kingdom. Two of the moons were shaped like almonds while the third was a thin crescent. The stars beside them glittered, like far away suns. The cold night breeze carried the sound of another dragon approaching. The Sunrise dragon looked down from her balcony just as a deep red and purple dragon with yellow sparkles on her wings emerged from the bushes.
"Long night?" She asked.
"Yes," said the first dragon, "I've had a lot on my mind recently."
"Really," said the second dragon, "may I come in?"
"Please." Replied the first dragon. The second dragon walked up the slope leading to the sunrise dragon's home. The two dragons lived in the ruins of the Night Kingdom. They were surprised when Darkstalker didn't find them. The sunrise dragon felt like he was everywhere, looking in every corner and crevice, for his beloved Clearsight. It was only when Peacemaker appeared that the two dragons revealed themselves. The purple dragon with the sunrise coloured underbelly lead the deep red and purple dragon to a desk with papers on it. The sunrise dragon then grabbed a piece of paper with writing on it and showed the other dragon.
"Nightlight," said the sunrise dragon, "Do you know anything about this?"
Nightlight looked at a piece of paper in the other dragon's claws. It had writing on it but the words didn't connect. It looked strangely familiar.
"I don't know Dawn," replied Nightlight, "what does it say?"
Dawn looked at the paper with a grim expression. Some of the words made sense to her but the others didn't. It looked very vague and cryptic.
"It's a prophecy." Dawn sighed. Nightlight's eyes widened.
"A prophecy!?" Exclaimed Nightlight, "I thought the Pantalan one was the last one! What does it say?"
Dawn sighed and closed her eyes. She hated this.

"A storm will rage across the land,
To take you to the tribes across the sea,
A place with shadows, a place with secrets,
A place where nothing is as it seems

A secret buried beneath the Earth,
A secret ignited in the Stars' sight,
A secret hidden in the Mountains,
A secret changing from dark to Light.

A terror hides in their cave,
An evil lurks in their Night,
Face the Rift with Wings and Fire,
Or none of those tribes will see the light."

Dawn shivered as she saw purple dragons, blood and dead dragons everywhere. There were sparkling, rainbow coloured dragons, dragons with no limbs, two legged dragons, maned dragons and bright yellow dragons with a frill of horns. Dawn coughed and then opened her eyes. Nightlight looked at her with concern written on her face. She walked up and clutched Dawn's shoulders.
"What did you see?" She asked softly. Dawn bowed her head. It hurt from the vision.
"I saw strange dragons everywhere but they were dead," Dawn said, "and the only alive dragons I could see were the purple ones."
Nightlight looked thoughtful. Dawn could see she was thinking hard.
"What did they look like?" She asked. Dawn drew out a piece of paper with one of those purple dragons drawn on it. It had deep purple scales with a bright pink underbelly that ended at the tip of the tail. It's claws were long and almost black and it's wings were translucent at the base webbing and opaque in the rest of the wing webbing. On the edge of the wings were bright pink swirls. The dragon had large bat-like ears and curled spikes that straightened out at the base of the tail. Nightlight looked at the drawing for a moment.
"This was the only purple dragon that wasn't in the chaos." Said Dawn pointing to the drawing, "she was more hiding in the bushes. And she was the only dragon, apart from one other, that had those pink swirls. The others had stripes or no pattern on the wings at all."
"What did the other one look like?"
"Well it had a very regal look about it." Dawn said.
"Do you know what they are called?" Asked Nightlight. Dawn shook her head. As Nightlight continued to read through the other papers about the prophecy, Dawn went to look out the window. Dark clouds, heavy with rain, were slowly drifting toward them, promising a storm. The sky lit up with distant lightning, a crackling sounding seconds after. The Prophecy had shown up more in Dawn's mind, the closer that storm got. Dawn turned to Nightlight, who was still looking intently at the papers.
"Nightlight," said Dawn, a grim expression painted on her face, "I-I think that storm has something to do with the prophecy."
"How so?" Asked Nightlight not looking up from the scroll she was reading.
"My vision has appeared more often the closer the storm has gotten," explained Dawn, "and it mentions a storm in the first two lines, A storm will rage across the land, To take you to the tribes across the sea."
Nightlight looked up, her face grim. She flicked her tail and shifted her sparkling wings. She looked around at the desk whichever was full of papers of the other continent.
"We'd better get these papers somewhere safe." Said Nightlight collecting a few. Dawn looked outside for a moment then nodded and started grabbing papers to store downstairs. Dawn lead the way into the downstairs basement. This room had rows and rows of scroll racks, each filled with scrolls either bought from merchants in Possibility, or written by her. The were stacked in order, alphabetically, and linked scrolls stored together. She stored the her collected scrolls in a desk draw, ready for the coming storm.
"Why don't we go outside to find some prey," said Dawn, "I believe it's going to be a long storm."
Nightlight shook her head.
"It looks like a fierce storm and I don't want to get caught in it." She explained. Dawn gave a skeptical look.
"You are trying to avoid the prophecy aren't you?" Dawn said, "there are dragons who need our help."
Nightlight still shook her head.
"I don't want to leave Pyrrhia," Nightlight explained, "and I don't want to loose you."
"I can't leave those dragons to just die," pleaded Dawn, "this proves that there are more dragons out there than just Pantala and Pyrrhia."
Nightlight closed her eyes and turned away. Dawn sighed and walked back up the stairs. Outside was raining heavily. Fat raindrops splattered against the ground, creating large puddles in the dirt. Dawn opened her wings to fly and instantly the wind caught her wings and blew her into the sky.
"Dawn!" Called Nightlight, appearing on the balcony. Dawn could see the dark speck trying to fly toward her. But she too, was blown away by the storm. The wind blew her in many ways and Dawn felt sick. Then, suddenly, the storm slammed her into a tree. The world went dark and all Dawn could see, was the grey clouds covering the sky. Then everything went black.

"Dawn! Dawn!"
Dawn could faintly hear another dragon's voice as she tried to shake Dawn awake. Dawn slowly opened her eyes and saw the shape of Nightlight desperately trying to wake her. Dawn groaned and groggily tried to get up. Her whole head hurt, and she clutched it, hoping to make the pain go away.
Nightlight clutched Dawn's shoulders, looking worried.
"Are you alright?" Asked Nightlight, "you looked like you were dead."
Dawn blinked and looked at her friend.
"Yeah, I'm fine," Dawn replied. Nightlight looked around.
"Where are we?"
Dawn looked around and saw marsh stretch out toward the horizon. Dawn smiled.
"I believe," she said, "we are at the continent across the sea."
