Chapter 16-Ripnami
Tsunami's POV:
"Riptide," I said, spotting the SeaWing, "can you help me with my aquatic?"
"Sure," he replied, diving into the water.
I followed him and said, in aquatic, "what are you going to teach me today?" He flashed three scales, one after another: one on his nose, one on his tail, and one on his neck. "What does that mean?" I asked. He didn't answer, only continued the lesson. I learned many words that day, though some I doubted I would ever use.
(A few weeks later)
I had been practicing my aquatic with Riptide practically every day, so I spoke it almost perfectly. "What does this mean:" I asked him, flashing my scales: one on my nose, then one on my tail, then one on my neck. His snout turned a darker shade of blue than the rest of his scales and he flicked his tail, a signal that told me to go up. When my head broke the surface, I asked him, "what does it mean?"
He looked down at his talons and mumbled something quietly, to quietly to hear. "What?" I asked again, growing impatient.
"This," he said, flashing his scales, "means I love you."
He looked away and I flashed all of my scales as bright as I could to get his attention. He looked at me and I flashed my scales to match what he taught me: "I love you, squidbrain"
