"Visions" a StarSpeaker Fanfic

(( This was an incomplete fic I wrote months ago, I feel I should post it here for you guys to read a bit of! ))

"You can't stay like this forever" barked the scruffy Nightwing.
Starflight couldn't see the anger in the Nightwing's eyes, but he could feel it. The feeling of disappointment. Starflight responded with tone of rationality,
"Father, I understand. My last look of the world was the product of an erupting volcano, that moment has changed how I function and I can't help it."

His father growled, "I'm not talking about that Starflight. I'm talking about Fatespeaker."
A long pause was the result, Starflight couldn't see but he looked in the direction his father was standing.
He twitched his ear, "what about her?"

His Father exhaled a smog of smoke exclaiming,
"she has been a distraction to you for far long. Ever since you met her she has been interrupting your progress of becoming a genius like me! I know your disability to see and you can't help it, but I want you to at least listen to me.. You are far greater then this. I don't want you to be organizing scrolls for the rest of your life, and CLEARY the only reason you're doing this is to stay closer to her. I never raised a son like this!"

Starflight glared from the response,
"for the first 4 years I never knew I had a father. I never even acknowledged you until then, so technically you never raised me. Mastermind? I think a true master mind would know that he actually had a son."
Mastermind grinds his teeth and response with a frustrated tone,
"You're quite the back stabber are ya? Although since I now know I have a son, you're under my authority! If you don't change, There will be SERIOUS CONSEQUENCES!!"

He stomps out the library, whipping his tail at one of the shelves knocking several scrolls to collide onto the floor. Starflight sighed, looking at the scrolls he couldn't see.
<What DO I do? I thought my father accepted the path I've chosen, but this.. This has to change. What did he mean by "serious consequences"? Would this mean torture to me or.. Fatespeaker?>
He crumbles his fists, speaking within his thoughts
<I can't let Fatespeaker live like this, I need to keep her away from me.>

《 Part 2 》
Mid-daylight breaks and the students were off for lunch break. Starflight didn't feel hungry, even ever since the time where he spend days not eating a single crumb. He walks to the prey room and hunts for a lizard to chow down on, then the twitch of his ears heard a feathery voice chatting with Sunny's. It was Fatespeaker's.

All the sound in the room became mute, as if he was both blind and deaf. His stomach went tingly, like he just ate a cage full of butterflies.
< What should I say? What should I do? > the questions became repetitive within his enclosed mind palace. Soon Sunny's voice was getting quieter, she was leaving. As the same time Fatespeaker's footsteps were getting more louder, she went for a surprise hug.

"STARFLIGHT! How've you been this morning?"
He was silent for a bit, but responded with a twinkle of enthusiasm
"I'm.. Fine. Doing very well, just.. had a ton of scroll organizing to do."
Fatespeaker made a "Mmm" sound,

"Well I'm glad you're doing well, better then unwell eh? Ahaha anyways would you like to hang out with me this evening? I'm taking a stroll around the school garden to water some flowers!"
Starflight smiled and nodded, "sure!" As within the same time his mind blossomed,
<Perfect. That would be a good time to tell her about.. My situation>

《 Part 3 》
Days go by fast, now being evening. The Nightwing was wrapping up his clean-up, relieved that he finally was finished with the last touches of his scroll organizing. The miniature star-shaped clock on his front desk started ringing "KOO KOO!" Repeatedly.

It was a reminder that school has ended for the day and it was finally time to rest, but not quite. About the garden trip, Starflight had a plan to tell Fatespeaker about his situation, but in a way that wouldn't sadden her but make her believe it. Visions.

Starflight checked if everything is as it was and reached for the only light switch in the room, clicking it. The torches that hang above the room of books burnt out like smoky candles, the room was shaded with grey.
He stumbles out the library, lurking through the halls with his memorized thoughts of the school halls. The Nightwing reached to the hall of where the garden was, taking a deep breathe.

<This is it. Don't get scared, just remember to tell her about the "visions." She will understand.. Right? >
He enters the rows of plants, hearing humming from afar. Fatespeaker.
Starflight yells, "hello? Fatespeaker?"
She squeals as she scatters like a spider towards Starflight.
"Starflight! Oh you gotta come see- I mean feel this!" Her thoughts remembering that he was blind.

Starflight smiled, but inside he frowned.
She grasped his talons like a bristly rope and runs up a slightly steep hill. His exhaustion level was rising from lack of fitness. Making it to the top, Starflights' senses had changed completely. He smelled fresh flowers, heard the soft wind as if clouds just crashed into him.

What he most importantly learned from his sense, was feelings. He felt lovely, his heart was singing. He turned to the direction of Fatespeaker's and smiled truly,
"This is. Beautiful."
"Indeed it is! I got myself and a couple of the winglets to come out and plant some more flowers in the garden this afternoon, I believe it gets more exquisite every time a plant joins the family." She replied after a short pause, smiling back.

Starflight couldn't see the smile, but knowing that she did smile, because every time she does, he felt sunshine and joy glow within his heart. Almost forgetting about his visions, he didn't feel like telling her. But he had to tell her.
<"SERIOUS CONSEQUENCES"> the voice of Mastermind screamed within his thoughts, in return Starflight makes a frustrated growl that Fatespeaker heard.

She gasps softly from the surprising twist and spoke, "are you alright? You seem off. I could help you with whatever-"
"VISIONS" he interrupted.
Again, the same pause happened again. Starflight continued,
"T-the reason I felt off this morning was, I had visions. It was about myself. I might be monster Fatespeaker. I don't. I don't want you to be hurt."

Fatespeaker frowned and her talons on Starflights right shoulder, softly speaking
"Oh Starflight you know that's not true, you'll never be a monster in my eyes. I thought you were the one that said Nightwings don't have visions."
Starflight grounded his teeth, "I. Lied I guess."
Fatespeaker's anger grew,
"That can't be true Starflight. I don't want to leave you-"
"I'm dangerous Fatespeaker! I don't want to hurt you!"

Fatespeaker puffed and glared slightly, Starflight hated when she was upset.
"Fine! I don't know any reason as to why you'd hurt me but fine, since you're the brainiac!"
Fatespeaker ran down the hill, without Starflight. His joy had been possessed by guilt,
<At least she is safe. Right?>

Strange, how not even a beautiful garden can change you. Starflight felt as if thousands of spears had struck through every bit of his heart.
<Sightless.. Now heartless?>
The Nightwing felt rain pattering on his snout, then his tail, then his entire body. Sorrow.

《 Part 4 》
Starflight woke up with an odd instinct, as if he did something wrong. Usually his first thoughts were about the joyful aroma of the academy and his scrolls. Today.. It was about the stares he'd be given today, even though he can't even see them.

Back into the library, he continues organizing the remaining shelves that fallen of the redwood shelves. It didn't feel right, his thoughts were to combined with fear and lies. Picking up each scrolls, his work came to a stop when he heard talons trampling the hallways. Starflight knew which footsteps were which, giving him shivers down his spiky spine as he knew them. Mastermind.

"So.. Starflight. I heard about your "vision" thing you told Fatespeaker."
Starflight froze like he just inhaled icewing breathe. He spoke with stutter,
"H-how did you know that? What m-made you think that?"
Mastermind smirked and chuckled, giving Starflight a sequel to his shivers.
"Rumours Starflight. Rumours."
((TO BE CONTINUED...))
