How! Why! What!

Deathbringer couldn't believe what he was seeing, how could his mother have died at the claws of Amber-Eye. It was no question that Amber-Eye had done it, the marks were too similar to what was done to the head of Queen Ruby's father. However, the question was how did it happen. Didn't Quickstrike die at the talons of Blister. Maybe, Blister dumped her corpse and Amber-Eye found it.

"If you are wondering, yes, Amber-Eye killed your mother. In fact, the reason for why he killed you was because of you, if my memory serves true," Victory Strike said casually, while breaking Deathbringer's train of thought and a pointed at his brother, "Well, it all started when Quickstrike was on an assassination mission. At the time, either party knew that the other was going to attack the same place and Quickstrike had at the time, laid your egg nearby the camp that she was going and hid you in some bush, now I don't know why she went on a mission in her state, but back to the story. I was hiding nearby and saw the whole thing. When, Quickstrike vanished into the night-sky do you know what I did," Deathbringer leaned in nervously, " I stabbed you with my third tail, which allows my to do this," with a wave of his claws, Deathbringer was dancing and when Victory Strike laid his claw down, Deathbringer stopped dancing, " I honestly thought that it would have been a good choice at the time, but I regret now. Anyway, I had started the ambush and Amber-Eye went straight for the leader of the army stationed at the camp. However, your mother got to her first and Amber-Eye was pissed. In fact, he nearly killed her, but I stopped and told him that your mother had an egg to take care of. If you are wondering, any dragon that has an egg or dragonet below the age of 7 is immune to Grim attacks, as in no harm is to be done to that individual. But, in order to keep your mother from talking, I told her that if she told anyone about us, then her dragonet dies, which was the truth as we could have easily killed you, so she didn't tell anyone and all was fine until, 5 years later. Amber-Eye was flying over the thousand scales island when a storm struck, so he landed on a nearby island and when he landed, he smelled a nightwing and he found you mother under some palms. She was waking up and when her eyes met Amber-Eye, he ... killed her and created a decoy using her scales and some plants around. Then, he dragged his catch to a cave that he knew was on the island. However, he met me there and I .. punished him. Ha, I was red mad and wanted him dead, but I thought that it would have been prefect to let the dragonet of the dragon that he had killed to kill him, so do as you wish," Victory Strike finished his long story and signed.

"Never thought that I was going to get that out of my system," Victory Strike said.

"So, I do what I what with Amber-Eye," Deathbringer asked.

"You and Queen Ruby can do what ever you like with him," Victory Strike said calmly, " I would give you hug if someone one would not be so jealous."

"Victory Strike, please don't mention that," Secret Ripper said desperately.

"Okay, funny killer," Victory Strike mumbled before turning to Glory.

"If you would like to know, there is a high a possibility that the dragon head in the box in front of you is your mother. I should also mention that this is just to allow you all to bury the dead that can be buried if you choose, so," Victory Strike explained.

"Okay," Glory responded. Deathbringer knew that Glory wouldn't care much for the dragon head there as she had never cared for knowing who her family was.

"Uncle, when will we be showing our special gift," Fluffball asked Victory Strike with curiosity.

"Patiences, Fluffball, patience," Victory Strike said.

"Quick question King Victory Strike,". Queen Coral asked.

"Yes, Queen Coral," Victory Strike asked listening intensely.

"How does succession work in The Grim," Coral asked.

"Well, essentially the current ruler chooses someone either in the family or another royal family to find someone worthy of the throne. That is usually someone with characteristics that contrast the current ruler. Then, the current ruler will train the next in line about how to properly rule. It is the same for the tribal leaders except it is in the family only," Victory Strike explained slowly to Queen Coral as Deathbringer noticed how Queen Ruby, Thorn and Glory listen interested.

"What is this special ability," Queen Ruby asked Victory Strike.

"Give me your father's head and I will show you," Victory Strike said reassuringly.

Queen Ruby quickly tossed the head to Victory Strike, who caught and looked at Queen Ruby straight in the eyes.

"If you want it then, okay," Victory Strike said and exhaled a purple mist from his mouth. The mist covered the head can it began to twitch as the amber that coated it cracked open. Victory Strike quickly tossed the head next Queen Ruby.

The head began to move and bone seemed to sprout from the base of the head as muscles, nerves and blood vessels began to form in a matter of seconds, the head had became a whole skywing and his eyes began to flicker open and he groaned as he got up.

Ruby's POV

I can not believe this, my father just came from the dead.

"Where am I," Eagle said confused. His eyes immediately wided when he saw Amber-Eye and he quickly backed up.

"What is going," Eagle said quickly looking around until he saw Ruby.

"Ruby, what are you doing here , why are the queens of the Seawings and Mudwings are here," Eagle asked desperately.

"Don't you freak out, you are just in a the meeting of the rulers of Pyrrhia that is 8 years after you died," Victory Strike said casual before turning to Ruby, "Well, that is the special gift we were given."

"To raise the dead," Coral said hopefully.

"It only works will dragons that had a proper mind, so no pre-hatchlings or insane and broken dragons and it can only work with a piece of said dragons flesh," Victory Strike explained quickly.

"Oh," Coral said sadly.

"Wait, you raised me from the dead," Eagle said in fear.

"Yes, also the name is Victory Strike, King of The Grim," Victory Strike quickly said ," Also, Deathbringer I wonder if you want to face your mother."

"Wait a second, is the war over," Eagle asked nervously.

"Yes, Father. Also, Scarlet is dead, that rainwing is the Queen of the Rainwings and Nightwings, that sandwing is the Queen of the Sandwings and that icewing is the Queen of the Icewings," Ruby said.

"How did Scarlet die," Eagle asked.

"I killed her," Ruby said bluntly

"Do you know," Eagle asked nervously.

"Yes," Ruby replied

"Okay, so family reunion aside, I suggest that we get to the point. The box for you Snowfall is that of your grand mother, Queen Moorhen the box in front of you contains your uncle's head, Queen Coral the box in front of you contains your father's head and Thorn the head inside of the box is that of Vulture's ," Victory Strike said before continuing, " In the Grim, the exchange of the heads of the dead is meant to show one's achievements with hunting and in some respect for the dead."

"What," Everyone, except The Grim Leaders roared.

"Well, that is how we do things," Secret Ripper said.

"Anyhow, Queen Ruby was much more on the table here," Victory Strike said before silencing the entire table with a loud howl.

Wing beats can be heard and the tapping of claws filled the cave as two skywing; a small ruby-red dragonet and a orange dragon with sliver armor covering nearly their entire body, except theor faces.

"Ruby," the male Skywing said softly and bowed.

"Mommy," the Ruby dragonet said quietly nearly crying

"This can't be real, this can't be real," Ruby cried out, she quickly jumped out of her throne and slowly walked up to the pair and placed a talon out.

"I assure you that this is real," Victory Strike said gleefully, " my final surprise for you, Queen Ruby."
