Chapter 23
Turtle's POV
Turtle landed gracefully on the cold stone of the entrance to Jade Academy as Sunny, Clay, Peril, Starlight and Fatespeaker rushed forward to greet them.
"Thank goodness, you two are alright, Glory told us about your little stunt," Sunny said sternly at Tsunami, "Do you know how worried we were when you two didn't come back for several days now and I got the impression that things were going south for you two."
"Damn, Sunny what happened to you," Tsunami said surprise with Sunny's tone.
"Don't you go all, what happened Sunny me, I know that the oldest daughter and only animus son of Queen Coral went on a trip to a forgotten continent and got captured. Do you have any idea about how we would explain this to your mother," Sunny pointed out with an angry tone in her voice.
"Okay, sorry but we got bigger fish to deal with," Tsunami said trying to change the subject, "After all, we have a ki-."
Sunny interrupted with a shush and spoke calmly, "I know, Glory told me about King Victory Strike. In fact, I want to thank him."
"She's right," Starflight quietly pointed out, " We have talked about this, Tsunami."
"Hey, Turtle," Peril spoke with concern in her voice, "What happened?"
Before Turtle could respond, a Turtle heard a yelp and when Turtle turned around, he found Moon crashing into the hard rock and tumbled toward him. Qibli quickly landed and ran towards the fallen Moonwatcher.
Moon's eyes were glowing a weird greyish-white as she was hoisted up by Qibli.
Suddenly, Moon's mouth opened and spoke in the voice of previous prophecy that she made earlier,
" Beware the devourer of the mountains,
The arrogant king of destruction and death,
Help the dragon of honour and duty.
Forget past slights for united we stand but broken we fall,
The dragons of death will lead the way.
Beware the king of plants,
The hive queen's rage will boil the land,
If the four continents don't work together.
Poison will seek its prey as plans go disarrayed,
The animuses will have to learn new tricks,
For the plant king holds all of nature in the grips of death.
To see the light,
One must seek the dark.
For the kings of evil fear the dark."
Turtle noticed that the dragonets of destiny had their full attention focused on the nightwing as her eyes returned to their normal greenish hue. She groaned in pain and looked around. Turtle felt a
"W-what happened," Moon muttered as she got on her wobbly feet with Qibli's support.
"You told a prophecy, Moon. Wait, didn't Alvin take your powers aways," Qibli inquired.
"He only took my mind-reading powers," Moon clarified as she began to pace towards the Academy.
"What is that all about," Peril butted in, "A dragon took your powers, why I will burn him alive."
"Don't," Turtle, Qibli and Tsunami shouted aloud.
"He will skin you with a rock," Qibli noted, "From what I saw, he will kill anyone who threatens him. He would have had us killed if we weren't students from Jade Academy!"
"His name is Alvin. He works of the Grim King; Victory Strike," Turtle quietly muttered before saying, "Victory Strike wants to train me and Anemone."
Turtle watched as the dragonets of destiny share glancing, each thinking about this, expect Tsunami who was just staring at the sky.
"Can we head back to our winglet caves, please," Qibli asked politely, "It was a long day."
"Sure," Sunny politely responded before yawning herself, "It was quite a day."
"Thank you, Sunny," Turtle said as he walked into Jade Academy, "I guess that Anemone should know about this."
———————————————
Turtle was walking to Tamarin's cave after the disappointment of not finding Anemone in her and Ostrich's. "I hope that she was alright with me and Tsunami's sudden disappearance."
Turtle knew about how close Tamarin and Anemone were especially, after Darkstalker's defeat, so he wasn't surprise to see the two curled up next to each other. Anemone was reading a scroll, which she had dropped as their eyes meet.
"Tamarin, wake up, Turtle is here," Anemone gently nudged Tamarin before facing Turtle again, "Is Tsunami here?"
"Yes, she is with the rest of the Dragonets of Destiny," Turtle spoke while helping Tamarin onto a sitting position, "Someone wants to teach us about animus magic and he is quite dangerous."
"Really," Tamarin and Anemone said at the same time.
"How is he dangerous," Anemone asked with a worried look in her eyes.
"Well, he did have dragons on this place we were held captive in just to get me and Tsunami for mother," Turtle said while flickering with his talons, remembering the bloodbath earlier.
"Now, that is dangerous. When is he coming," Tamarin said.
"T-tomorrow," Turtle stuttered.
"Tomorrow," the two dragoness shrieked.
"Why did Tsunami allow a murderer into the school," Anemone hissed.
"Because he the ruler of a large underground dwelling tribe that is planning on connecting with the seven tribes and he wants to examine the academy, since dragonets from his tribe will be coming to the academy," Turtle paused before continuing, "and he is going to use this as an opportunity to start teaching us the secrets, methods and history of animus magic."
"So either way, this dragon is coming and we are going to meet him," Tamarin thought aloud, "say, what is his name and came you give us a description of his tribe."
"Well, the dragon's name is King Victory Strike; he has three barbed tails, a triangular head, a pair of drill-like front talons and a semi-bipedal stance. The tribe is call The Grim and is basically a collection of seperate tribes," Turtle explained, "the first tribe is the Triple-Slasher, which King Victory is, the second is a tribe of scavenger-size rainwings that are way scarier and can crack skulls open, the thir-."
"Scary, scavenger-size rainwings," Tamarin stated puzzled.
"Well, they look like rainwings," Turtle mumbled, "Anyway-."
"We got the picture, already. A king of a tribe of several tribes is coming to inspect the school because he is planning a peaceful co-existence with the seven tribes," Anemone cut in.
"Correct," Turtle responsed.
"Okay, so if you guys don't mind, I am going to sleep," Tamarin yawned before climbing up her hammock and shortly after, her chest began to rise and fall gradually.
"Well, goodnight Turtle. See you tomorrow," Anemone yawned before clumsily joining Tamarin on the hammock.
"I guess that it is time to sleep," Turtle thought before exiting the cave.
"I show probably tell Polar about tomorrow," Turtle thought as images of the glittering whitish-blue icewing with icy-blue eyes that is Turtle's clawmate entered his mind, "At least, he is better than Winter in the whole pride and sincerity part."
