Chapter 7
Promisekeeper's POV
AuraHeart
Promisekeeper stood up stretching her wings. "What a wonderful day," she sighed. "Um, Promisekeeper, it's the middle of the afternoon," said a dark black NightWing. Promisekeeper flicked her tail. "it is? Must've slipped my mind," she said in a sing-song voice. The male NightWing shook his head in embarrassment. Promisekeeper saw Sandviper walk into the kingdom in a huff, Violet followed closely as if trying to get him to stop. Promisekeeper held a promise from Sandviper, that Sandviper hadn't wanted anyone to know about. Promisekeeper watched the commotion silently, unaware that the black NightWing had settled next to her also watching intently. Promisekeeper turned her head to the dragon next to her and was relieved to find out it was Glider, the only male dragon she could talk to. Promisekeeper settled next to the male NightWing. As they watched, Violet decided to give up on apologizing to Sandviper and lay in the middle of the clearing. Promisekeeper felt sorry for Violet and went up to her. "What happened with Sandviper? I thought he-" she stopped herself remembering the promise she'd made to Sandviper. Violet lifted her head. "What do you want?" Violet growled looking away. Promisekeeper felt relieved that Violet hadn't heard her words. Promisekeeper straightened. "I want to know what happened with Sandviper," she replied. Violet lowered her head and mumbled. "It's none of your business," Violet snarled, standing up and flying into the sky, tears streaming down her face. "That didn't go well," Promisekeeper sighed to herself. Glider was flexing his wings as Promisekeeper passed by him. "What happened?" Promisekeeper lifted her head and met his gaze. "Violet didn't want to talk," she replied, holding his gaze. "That's odd, Violet always wants to talk," said Glider. Promisekeeper nodded. "I know it's weird.. But maybe since it's a male dragon...." Glider got a confused look in his odd coloured eyes. "What are you saying?" Promisekeeper flapped her wings. "I don't know, just forget I said anything." Glider looked into her eyes, and she looked into his. "Promisekeeper you can tell me anything you want, you know that," he said flexing his wings. "Where are you going?" She asked. Glider looked into her eyes for the third time. "To find our runaway," he answered,"and I want you to come with me." Promisekeeper held his gaze. "Okay," she said flapping her wings. Following Glider, Promisekeeper scanned the ground looking for the purple NightWing. After a few moments, Promisekeeper and Glider saw a purple tail disappear into a cave and Glider sniffed the air. "That's her follow me," he said leading them to land on a burnt tree not far the cave. Promisekeeper felt odd in this area. "The cave is over there, why are we here?" Glider flicked his tail. "We don't want to frighten her, and it's getting darker every second, we'll rest here for a bit." Promisekeeper opened her mouth to protest, but didn't need to say anything for a very distressed Violet was looking at them in the eyes. "I'm sorry I ran away, the Sandviper thing... It's hard for me.. you wouldn't understand..." And with that the NightWing turned tail and flew towards the NightWing Kingdom. "Well that was awkward," Promisekeeper and Glider said in unison and remained silent on the way back to the kingdom
