Toucanshine's POV

Toucanshine flicked her tail, she hated the name Toucanshine. Why had Glory decided to name her that? Why not just Toucan? But noooo Glory had to go and name her Toucanshine. What in Pyrria was Glory thinking? Toucanshine referred to herself as Toucan. Toucan knew she was only part RainWing. Her NightWing half barely shone, the only noticeable difference was the silver spine but even with that you could mistake her for a full RainWing. Glory wasn't her biological mother, her mother was dead, killed by the greatest of all villains, Garnet. Toucan's scales turned bright green with fear and visibly shook. "Touci, you alright?" Said a voice belonging to a male dragon, causing Toucan to stop ranting about Glory. "I'm fine," she replied not looking over her shoulder, she knew the dragon, he was Chimpanzee, her hatchlinghood friend and her secret crush. "You don't seem fine," he said. Toucan got the courage to look over her shoulder and at him. "Just ranting about Glory," she said flicking her tail. Chimpanzee rolled his eyes. "You always rant about Glory," he said with a playful tone,"why can't you rant about something else? Like me.. For example." Toucan looked away and blushed scarlet. Was that a... a... blush? She thought noticing a very pale pinking in Chimpanzee's cheeks. "Well. There's not much to rant about you, negatively, but a lot of positive things," she said. Chimpanzee got a few sun yellow colours on his mostly yellow scales, indicating that he was happy. "Like?" Toucan's scales turned bright red for she was embarrassed. "Um, well there's... Um..." Chimpanzee laughed. "Go on." Toucan looked away before she embarrassed herself. "Y-Your.... Um.... I need to... Um... Do this... Um..." Chimpanzee got a confused expression on his face, his yellow tail flicking back and forth and opened his mouth to say something but was cut off when Toucanshine pressed her snout to Chimpanzee's. Chimpanzee's scales turned bright pink. Toucan leapt into the trees and ran off, Toucan loved to feel the wind on her wings, sat soaking in the breeze. Toucan's thoughts seemed to fade with the wind. She had never known her real mother, for she had been killed. Glory had named her Toucanshine, for her mother died while she was still in the egg. Glory had sat with Toucan's egg, Glory was the only mother Toucan knew. Toucan opened her eyes suddenly as she heard a malicious cackle from down below in the forest. Then she heard voices. "Nima get the powder ready," said the first voice, a poisonous tone of a voice that was slightly high pitched. "Yes ma'am," said the second, which Toucan guessed belonged to 'Nima'. "Oh you can bet we'll be killing tonight," said voice one again, sounding almost spiteful. Toucan nearly jumped from her perch on the tree branch. It was Garnet! And she'd got a new henchman and of all dragons, Nima. Toucan felt sick. Garnet had corrupted a innocent outgoing, not afraid to show what he's thinking dragon. Toucan paled when she saw what the powder was. "This RainWing essence," said Nima,"was very hard to get wasn't it Garnet?" He said it like a question. The malicious cackle sounded again. "Oh yes," said Garnet poisonously,"that RainWing with the egg was very unresponsive, wasn't she?" Nima snarled,"we had to do.. Certain things to exact her essence, didn't we?" Toucan's legs wobbled and she fainted. She knew who that RainWing was, her mother.
