Silence Disturbed
A calm silence surrounded the forest edge, the light of three bright moons reflecting off the shiny scales of dragons. Quite a few lay there, soaking up the peace. Someone yawned, and another stretched.
The silence was disturbed, however not completely broken, as some began to whisper and giggle. An autumn LeafWing laughed softly to a joke of a HiveWing dragonet the color of honey; and a hybrid of rain and sea sat with a very intimidating SandWing, who wasn't so intimidating now, nuzzled underneath the hybrid's wing.
"Is this what you desire?"
The ground vibrated as a voice overrode the silence that was so loved. The world slowly grew dark, and one dragon in particular shook, eyes wide and mouth agape in what could be a silent scream.
"You do realize, peace among all is impossible."
It was not a question. The world around the young grew black, until he was standing on nothing and there was no dragon in sight. He grunted as a high pitched ringing filled the air, and he crumbled to the ground, shielding his ears. Tears streamed from his closed eyes, and fell to the dark abyss below.
"Why me?"
The dragon murmured, and the voice laughed. He flinched, crying harder as he tucked his head to his chest, wings covering his neck. However, he received no response.

His thoughts were cut off sharply as he awoke in a cold sweat.
