Chapter 9

Catfish gasped, and Serpentine instantly rushed towards the musket he had leaning on the wall. The room was on the underside of the island, with a window overlooking the clouds(although, it just acted as a natural light source, this part of the island being mostly undercloud). The slanted roof made it easy to conceal a weapon on the walls under it, assuming you put it away from anything that guests would look at a lot.

"Wait, wait, don't shoot!" Moonsky said as he got between the loaded gun and the two Terrans. "They're friends, they don't want anything remotely to do with starting a war or even fighting!"

Serpentine wasn't pulling the trigger, but he knew he would shoot the moment Moonsky stepped away. "How do you know?

"They're my friends, they helped me get back home," Moonsky felt sweat rolling down his brow. He knew Serpentine wouldn't wast his only loaded shot on Moonsky, even if he was willing to kill him, but it was still stressful to have a loaded gun pointed directly at him. Especially when the bullets were often rusty and neglected when compared to rifle rounds.

Serpentine slowly lowered the weapon, but he still held it in his talons. Moon and Qibli stepped in, seemingly unfazed by the dragon who had just brandished a weapon with a deadly, probably rusty metal ball loaded in it.

"I'm Moonwatcher," Moon introduced herself, "you can call me Moon, and this is my friend, Qibli. I had a vision of the future, then Moonsky changed it by falling off this place, and we came here because we still need to fulfill it. I think you two are part of it, actually."

Catfish looked surpried, maybe a little honored, but Serpentine just scoffed. "Fairy tales and fake fortunes, just like all the rest. There is no mid reading, there is no foresight, there is no ancient NightWings power or whatever. There is only what we have here, now." He leaned back on the wall, looking out the window to the endless, stormy cloudscape. "If you want to go chasing a fake tale about the Wasp and the End of Skykeria, be my guest, but I'm not coming, and you're not getting-"

"The Black Star," Moon said suddenly.

Serpentine looked confused. "Yes, the Black Star. You'll have to find a different ship. Besides, for a journey like the one you're talking about, you'll run into-"

"Pirates, Marauders, and Cultists," Moon interrupted again. "For your voyage to Morsinder, we'd need only five dragons, but to defend against them, we'd need a full crew of twelve."

Serpentine looked bewildered. "Wha- you- how- oh moons," Were the first bewildered words Moonsky had ever heard come out of his mouth. "So they are real. You're physic. I'm a part of this world-saving future." He sighs and leans back more. "Aaaand you need my ship. Great. Fine. If you can actually find a full crew, I'll take you there."

Catfish perked up "I think I know a few people."

-----<-->-----

Hmmm yes, a new ship and even more diversity and a look into the more dystopian part of Skykeria...

Anyways, I think this is a good start to part 2. Hopefully, you will too. Now, I will acknowledge that this is slow. And pretty bad. But I'm kind of focused on other things. But - back to more entitled parents.
