Chapter 6

There. The Cultist's coal source.

Moonsky looked out the opening made for one of the Titan's imperial cannons. The island in front of them was swarming with cargo frigates; they were trying to take the coal from the island to wherever it went. A few Cultist warships - mostly destroyers - defended the cargo ships, pointed towards thefloating island. The Skykerians had the element of surprise.

"Moonsky, if you want to watch, please don't do it right next to a massive cannon," Steelheart said behind him. "I don't want you to go deaf. Especially here, of all places."

"Alright, mum," Moonsky said. They walked up the ship to the telescope; it was currently idle, and the highest point on the ship.

When the first deafening rounds fired, the Cultist ships seemed to take a hard hit. They all struck something; part of a cargo ship was hit by an aerial torpedo, making all it's engines split off. Easy pickings for the Borilliom in the fleet.

A squadron of torpedo bombers, brought in by a Hawkwing, flew over and released their torpedoes with split accuracy as biplanes peppered them with tiny shots. The Titan's own biplane managed to get some shots in through the windows, detonating suspendium chambers and ammo stores. It was spectacular.

Moonsky's excitement soon turned to fear as he realized that one of the Cultist's aerial torpedoes was headed right at the Titan. Specifically, at the area housing the telescope.

"Mum, move!" Moonsky said, pushing his mother towards the back of the ship. the torpedo hit, shaking a large part of the ship and tearing off a chunk of the heavy armor. Moonsky was almost knocked off the ship when Steelheart grabbed his claw.

"I'm not losing you again!" she said, her grip tight. "Don't let go of my claw!" Cannon fire could be heard to the east; the Cunnundrum, another one of the three Skykerian capitalships, was engaging the Cultist fleet.

"Mum, I'll be fine!" Moonsky  yelled over the sound of the cannons. "Let me go, I'll get back to you!" Steelheart was slipping, she had to let go or they would both fall and have to escape the many watching Terrans.

Tears were welling up in Steelheart's eyes. "I hope you're right," she said and let go. Moonsky fell, a feeling of deja-vu rushing over him. He hoped he actually was right, that it would just be a case of signaling the First Responders. He hoped his mother would survi-

THUNK

Well, that was great timing.

It took Moonsky a moment to take in what had happened. as soon as he processed that he hadn't been shot out of the sky and landed of the metal floor of the afterlife, he scrambled to stay on the Borilliom he had been lucky enough to land on. As he slipped over the edge, a soldier grabbed his talon and swung him toward the reinforced cargo door that was open near the back of the ship.

"Well, what are you doing here?" A soldier asked, pulling Moonsky up. Another sat by the hallway; A third was sharpening their bayonet to a gleaming point. None of the three seemed fazed by the sound of bullets and the occasional cannonball peppering the side of the vessel.

"Umm... I fell of the Titan. I was going home and just got drafted into this. Sorry if you're bugged."

A laughing Cultist fired a Gatling gun into the cargo doors, but an eagle-eyed soldier fired a round straight between her eyes. "So you're a lost refugee?" The soldier asked. Moonsky nodded.

Countless more ships were falling, faster and faster with each one. No matter what, the Skykerian fleet had claimed victory, soon confirmed by a white flag replacing a burning red worm eye flag. Most ships belonging to the cultists shut sown their engines and lowered their weapons, and the few that didn't were blown to pieces.

The whole thing was over in minutes as the last burning pieces of a citadel fell to the muddy ground miles below. The Skykerian fleet had taken a hit, but nothing that couldn't be patched in a few hours. It was over. Moonsky could go home. He could relax.

BOOM

Or so he thought.

Sus

Ah haha...

Okay, but being serious, I have a basic idea of what happens, but little more. I also think I should change the description of this, but I need your thoughts.

Also, here's the old picture that I was going to put up there, instead of the fleet(Expect some repetition for that by the way):
