Well, I was browsing the useful website of Goodreads sometime last year, looking for good dragon books my library did have, after the disappointment of the Dragonriders of Pern series. I came across The Dragonet Prophecy, and I thought it looked very cool, but the local library probably wouldn't have it. Then I went to the library website and found they did have the first book, and I thought 'YAY!' I got the book out and read it. At first I actually didn't like Wings of Fire much. I loathed the characters of Kestrel (despite having a cool name) Scarlet, and Peril (yes, Peril, I certainly didn't love her back then!) and I thought it was too violent. However, I did like how that dragons were the dominant species with power over scavengers, aka humans, unlike probably many other series where that is the other way around. When I read the second book, that's when I really loving the Wings of Fire series-I loved it! I soon went on to read the third, and the fourth, and then the fifth, which the library didn't have so I got it ordered in. I had to wait a long time for Moon Rising to be released, and I wasn't even bothered to wait for the library to get it this time so I just bought the book online. While waiting for that book I was amazed at just how popular Wings of Fire is on Wattpad! That made me even more of a FanWing, a term I only discovered recently. Finally I got to read Moon Rising, and I can't wait to find out more about Winter in the next book! And for Peril, she's one of my favourite characters now- obvious from my profile pic. I've noticed she's a lot like my favourite dragon ever, Cynder from the Legend of Spyro, because they were both controlled by evil masters to do their bidding of killing other dragons,(Scarlet-The Dark Master) until good sides were revealed in them, and benevolent, important characters (Clay-Spyro) helped to do this. Man, it would be awesome if Peril and Cynder met!
