The small village of Song was nestled in a large grove of trees near the Skywing border and was surrounded by sand .It was in Burn's territory ,on the Sandwing side . 

It was relatively untroubled in the war , since it was right near the Skywing's territory ,and they were in Burn's alliance . Song had no strategic value anyway . The only reminders of the war was when a flight of Sandwings were spotted on the horizon and when old Sinkhole's son enlisted with a unit that was retreating from a attack on a Icewing emplacement.

The villagers were all Sandwings , except for a pair of Skywing refugees who had  fled Scarlet's regime .

Trade was good with a city half a day's flight away.

Overall , you could say it was peaceful ,if a little boring .

That was before the Nightwing came .
