Chapter 2
Do you think you can hide from me, shifty silkwing?
Parasite thought, creeping up behind a moss covered a boulder where a ruby read tail was slightly poking out from. Bursting forward, he seized the twitchy tail between his talons, sending grass flying and small, round pebbles rolling down the mountain side.
"No fair!" Cried a silkwing, reappearing from behind the moss boulder, tugging her tail away from him. "Your too good." She said haughtily, bushing out her sky blue, gold rimmed wings. He thought Snowbank's were prettier though.
"Fennec!" She whined, holding out her glittering aqua talons like a one year old dragonet.
A pale, almost white sandwing flew down from his perch on a grassy ledge above them. He landed next to the silkwing and put a wing around her, then he proceeded to fiercely glare at Parasite.
"Hey it's not my fault I found her!" He said, raising his gold tipped claws innocently.
"You finally found Jewel Hawk." A familiar icewing glided above them, her dazzling gray wings catching the air currents that blew through the mountains and ruffled the grass.
"It wasn't that hard, plus I'm the master at hide and seek!" He said putting his talons down and shaking his wings.
"By the way, Sunny's having the whole Chrysolite Winglet inside for some special thing or something, I don't know" She said raising a talon, still staying aloft effortlessly in the sky.
"It's probably gonna be awesome!" A seawing came swooping in next to her, the golden edges of her light blue wings glinting in the sunlight.
Still not as pretty as Snowbank's wings. Parasite thought, raising his own gold-veined wings to leap into the sky next to the glimmering icewing. Together they raced back towards the main entrance, the others following more slowly behind. Instead of swooping majestically in by the main entrance, they veered sideways and entered through the libray window where they had first came in through. This time Parasite had mastered flying right through it and slipped into the library easily after Snowbank.
"Window again?" Starflight said, examining different stamps with his claws.
"Yeah." Snowbank said quickly and flew out of the cave as quickly as they had come in. Parasite raced after her, zooming through cave mazes that made up jade mountain. Suddenly Snowbank turned to the left and disappeared into a cave with a rather small entrance, lit by flame silk lamps.
He had not mastered flying through this exit. With a howl his wings collided with the top and sides of the opening and her fell skidding into the dimly lit cave. He looked up embarrassed to see Snowbank giggling from her position next to Sunny, who was smiling.
"Eh..." He moaned getting up quickly. So far the three were the only dragon's present in the room.
There was a loud thud and the seawing from before, Sundrift, and a dark reddish-gray SkyWing came running in, eyes alight with curiousity.
"There's always a pair of dragons with nearly the same personality." Sunny said, twitching her tail somewhat happily. After Sundrift and the SkyWing, who was named Ravine, came Fennec and Jewel Hawk, followed by Owl, a light brown mudwing and BatEcho, a dark colored rainwing. A couple seconds later and the Nightwing of the Winglet, Existence, who's wings still weren't in Parasite's opinion prettier than Snowbanks's, came rushing in.
"Am I late?" She asked, huffing.
"Your not the last one to arrive." Ravine said, cocking his head.
Of course the dragonet who was always late was TreeFall, the leafwing dragonet who was born with opposite leafspeak. Whenever the poor dragonet would try to reach out to a plant, it would suddenly shrivel up and die. TreeFall has come to jade mountain mainly because he had no where else to go, and unlike everyone else, He didn't really have anyone special, Existence wasn't really into him anyway. It made him sad how everyone else had someone they could rely on but him. Existence's sister was here too, but TreeFall had no one.
Just as Parasites mind was finishing the whirlwind of thoughts a pale green-brown leafwing burst into the room. His dark blue eyes were weary and he was breathing heavily as if he had fought a hundred skywings just getting here. Parasite noticed that his satchel was ragged and torn and his wings slumped at his sides.
"Good, TreeFall, Your here." Sunny said, cheerful as always, "As you might know, all the other winglets have been going on special trips." Parasite personally hadn't really noticed, Sunny continued on, "Now it's time for your turn, a storm is rolling in, and your going on a camping trip out in the woods!"
Through all the excitement that started buzzing around, he couldn't help notice that Sunny kept weirdly glancing at Snowbank, her smile becoming more and more forced. She then looked over and stared at him, something was going wrong. Something was wrong.
