Chapter 18
After almost two hours, Castiel came back to the bunker soaking wet from the rain. Dean, whom was pacing around, hadn't noticed Castiel at first. When he finally noticed Castiel, he instantly stopped and took three steps toward the angel, and engulfed him in a hug.
"I was worried about you..." Dean whispered in Castiel's ear.
After a moment, the angel hugged him back with raw emotion and feeling. "I'm sorry," Castiel said after pulling away from the hunter. "I'm sorry for everything, Dean,"
Dean looked at the angel with concern. "What are you talking about, Cass?" he said. "Why're you sorry?"
Castiel just shook his head. "You wouldn't have been hurt if I wasn't here, Dean. If I had not pulled you from Perdition, You wouldn't even know my name..." Castiel rambled on and on about if Dean hadn't met the angle, things would be different. But Dean couldn't take it much longer, so he silenced the angel with a kiss.
The kiss was rough, like Dean was saying a million things with only the feel of his lips. Like he was knocking the sense right into Castiel with just his lips. There were no sparks, no fireworks, no anything that the romance novels say; just the feeling alone made Castiels' heart swell with over-flowed joy.
Dean pulled away, his face flushing some. "I-I'm sorry," He said. "That was uncalled for and way out of line," Dean mumbled.
"Why do you humans always apologize for the most strangest things?" Castiel said, shaking his head. "You have no reason to be regretful,"
Dean nodded his head. "Uh, yeah, I do,"
"Explain to me why you feel the need to be sorry," Castiel said, sitting down in one of the many chairs in the map room.
"Because!" Dean exclaimed softly. "If I did that to a random person on the street, they would have clocked me," He said, moving towards the other chair and sitting across from the angel. "I acted on impulse, Cass," Dean muttered, looking down at his hands.
Castiel grabbed Deans' hands in his own, and spoke softly, "That was a great impulse," He said, taking away one of his hands and placing it on the left side of Dean's face, making him give eye contact. "You are not as flawed as you let on to be, Dean. You are a good person, and if people do not see that, then they only see their own flaws that are blocking their view," Castiel whispered.
Dean was speechless. He didn't know what to say other than the words he was trying so hard to avoid. That he feared. That made him feel so vulnerable.
But Dean whispered in response, "I love you,"
