Chapter 7
Iceberg felt worried about this as they swam. She looked back to see if Foeseer was following.
Foeseer swam after her, smiling.
They had been swimming for a few minutes, until Foeseer tapped Iceberg and pointed up to some weird lights in the surface. Foeseer swam up to the surface and smiled. Iceberg looked up and swam up.
"How are we already in another cave? We only swam for a few minutes." She looked up at the glow worms. "Oh, wow."
Foeseer shook her head from the brightness. "Enough site seeing." Foeseer then dove back into the water.
Iceberg took another breath before going back under water, her wings brushing the side of the underwater tunnel.
It's getting narrower.. she thought.
Foeseer noticed to. She did movement with her talons. Snowflake had taught them sign language if they were in a place where they couldn't speak.
Get behind me, I'll lead the way.
Iceberg dropped back and let Foeseer squeeze past her. She liked the way the water was getting colder, but she was getting claustrophobic.
Foeseer tucked her wings close, letting Iceberg follow her.
Iceberg slowed so she could stay behind Foeseer, her tail now brushing the sides of the tunnel every time she used it to propel herself forward. She rose up and felt the top of the tunnel hit her spikes, so she floated back down. She'd have to wait a bit longer for a breath.
The narrow tunnel then came out with more room and ahead of them was the sound of roaring.
Iceberg flattened her ears against her head, a stream of bubbles coming out of her nose. She did not like this.
She did not like this at ALL.
The water under them now only reached their talons, so they were able to talk at least. Foeseer couldn't help but laugh as bubbles stormed out of Iceberg's nose. "Hahahahha! If only that happened to Battlebringer!"
Iceberg shook herself. "You'd be annoyed too if you had sensitive ears!" She snorted small icicles that clattered to the ground. She looked around the place.
Foeseer smirked. "Come on, let's get over there." She raced over, zoomed past before Iceberg could blink. She leaped down the cliff.
Iceberg ran after her clumsily, some of the water still weighing down as she tried to follow Foeseer. She came to a stop at the cliff. "Foeseer?" She called. Her ears would not unflatten from her head as she tried to listen for her friend.
Foeseer sprang into the face of Iceberg. "BOO!"
She yelped in surprise, falling back into the water. "Hey!" She growled, getting up. "Now I'm wet again!"
Foeseer smirked, flickering her tongue in and out. "Sorry! Couldn't resist!"
Iceberg sighed in frustration, then gliding down off of the cliff and onto the cold stone. For a split second, she thought she was back in the caves, but then she saw a flicker of moonlight.
Foeseer sniffed the air and gasped, accidentally whacking Iceberg into the ground with her wings. "ICEBERG!"
Iceberg sniffed as well and got back up, her snout wrinkling at the new scent. "What is that? It's sharp and cold and smells like.." She saw the moonlight again. "Fresh air!"
Iceberg jumped up in the air and began to look for an exit, her claws feeling the stone.
Foeseer zoomed off and soon fell off the cliff, she screamed as the air whooshed past her. But then, she used her wings and she soon soared!
Iceberg followed her and jumped into the air, her wings adjusting to the wind currents.
